Even more impressive was how well Laura handled a behavioral problem that arose with one of our dogs. I had forgotten that he once had this problem with us -six years ago when we got him - and when it popped up again, Laura dealt with it so well! She even purchased something that we thought would help, after messaging with me about the issue. Laura’s care and confidence saved our vacation, when a less experienced sitter might have asked us to return and pick up our dog. The problem resolved and our dogs had a wonderful stay with Laura and Joe. We have always used a kennel in the past. It is a small one and the dogs are out playing much of the day. Last time, things did not go well there for our 13 year-old dog. We tried Rover to find someone who would provide both a safe setting and special care for our dogs. We got this with Laura, for sure!”

About: Hi! I’m 30 years old and I’ve been around dogs my whole life. I grew up in a house full of dogs of all sizes, breeds, and personalities—my mom always had rescues and mixed breeds, so I’m very comfortable with different temperaments and energy levels. Today, I have my own adopted 16 lb mixed-breed dog, and caring for him has only deepened my love and experience with dogs. I’m confident handling puppies and energetic dogs, and I truly enjoy walks, playtime, and giving them attention and care. For safety reasons, I prefer not to work with dogs that are overly aggressive or difficult to manage. My experience is focused entirely on dogs, so I’m not the best fit for cats or other types of pets. I’m available to foster small dogs in my apartment. I work from home and I’m able to walk him/her 3/4 times a day. I’m also available for drop-in visits between 6 AM–8 AM and anytime after 5 PM. I live in an apartment with a fenced area, which is great for safe outdoor time. I’m also happy to take your dog on walks outside around the neighborhood. “Abby is a lovely, caring person who is very detail oriented, sensible and possessing a good sense of humor. I know my furry family quite well and know they do much better if there is a casual meet and greet. Abby happily agreed to a meet and greet with my two boys and asked about tasks that I was forgetting to mention. My first trip was only a few days long but I was home only two days before having to leave again. Home from the art show trip my support cat-dog’s companion was no where to be found. After several hours I was getting concerned but Abby was as calm and assured me Mario had been eating and would come out when he was ready. Mario did just that, after being missing twenty hours; not something Mario has done in the past. Upon coming out from the cool basement he promptly tossed up a big fur-ball at my feet. Two days later I had to leave again. I had never done that to the boys before but Frito was satisfied seeing that I only took a small duffle bag with me. My best friend and next door used to watch them and both boys adored her and her crazy rescue mix. When she suddenly passed away I no longer had a familiar person to check in on them and care for them; they mourned her death for months. My leaving so quickly after a long working weekend, plus Mario’s previous disappearance, concerned me a bit. I had no reason to, Abby was patient with the hiding Mario and the spunky Frito. The second trip was brutal on me because of the long, slow, construction filled drive than it was on my boys. I knew they were in good hands but the rover app wouldn’t open for me. Abby rolled with the app issues and sent updates via text messaging. I have used Abby twice in a short period of time. Each time I ridiculously wondered if she had really been to my home (the check-ins obviously showed me she had) because every item from the kitchen towels, scrub brush and drain mat, mailbox key to the bowls and toys were in exactly the same places as when I left. I have used Abby twice with growing trust as she demonstrates calm in all situations, including me panicking over a not missing cat. Without any concerns, I already have Abby scheduled for October. I couldn’t recommend her more highly. Thank you Abby.”

About: I love dogs all my life and experienced with daily feeding routines, leash walking, potty breaks, and basic supervision. I take dogs on 3–4 leashed walks per day and closely monitor their comfort, behavior, and safety. I am a full time staying home mom so I have plenty of times to take care of your dogs. I want to make a schedule at least 5 days earlier. Calm, clean house with a yard (not fenced). Dogs are always supervised and taken on 3–4 leashed walks daily. About: We are parents to 3 boys (baby, 3, 5 - they all love dogs) and and our 9 year old lab/ hound, Macie. We have a nice sized fenced in yard and Macie would love some fur friends to run around with. We treat our dog like our child! Brad works from home half of the week so there is not too much alone time for the dogs. Macie is able to spend as much time as she like outside during the day (and coming in and out as she pleases). We have a large fenced in yard. Our dog loves to be with other dogs. We allow our dog to sit with us on the couch so she gets lots of pets and snuggles. We have both had dogs our entire lives and are plenty experienced in taking care of them! We hope we can help you out by providing a safe place for your dog to stay. Brad works from home half of the week so he is able to let the dogs in and out as they like throughout the day. However on “in office” days, the dogs would be free to roam the house while we are at work (typically 8am-5pm). We follow the schedules given to us by the owner and always treat our guest dogs as one of our own. Our kids love to play fetch with the dogs and run around with them outside.

About: The number one thing in life that brings me joy is caring for animals. I currently work as a nurse and I’m working on completing my masters. About: I am a true animal lover! I’ve had pets since I was little that I’ve helped take care of and have looked after pets for my family and friends. Having pets of my own that I love and care deeply for gives me a deeper understanding when it comes to someone else’s. Walks, play time, potty breaks or time spent loving on your furry friend is my helping goal. I have an open and flexible schedule, can care for your pets while away at work. Walks to tire them out, outdoor potty breaks, or playtime inside / out to ensure they aren’t bored or restless while you’re away. I’m open to walking any size dog however long needed and ensuring they’re properly cared for after the fact. I’m comfortable leashing and harnessing, as well as recognizing when a dog is ready to relax.

About: A college student looking to use my love for animals to help others. 4+ years of animal care, 2 years volunteering at Humane Society of Macomb, and a go-to for watching family pets. Flexible, caring, and detail-oriented. In my hands, your furry friend is guaranteed to be spoiled with love. I have class from 10-11:45 Mon-Wens and 2-3:25pm Tues-Thurs. And typically work retail Mon, wens, sat, sun. I always have Fridays off. And I’m completely free before class or in between work. My schedule is put out weeks in advance so I’m able to communicate what hours I’m available and not. I don’t offer at-home boarding since I don’t have a fenced yard, but I’m happy to care for pets in their own home where they feel most comfortable. I’ll tidy up after myself, stick to their routine, and make sure they’re having fun whilst still maintaining a happy, and safe, environment.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs of every kind for 5 years. Neighbors, friends and family have relied on me to walk, feed, board and bathe their pets. I also used to work at a dog daycare and boarding facility which allowed me to work with all different kinds of dogs and temperaments. Which allowed me the opportunity to have handled dogs of many sizes! Pet care fits into my daily routine because I have two dogs of my own that I provide for and take care of on a daily basis. I had forgotten that he once had this problem with us -six years ago when we got him - and when it popped up again, Laura dealt with it so well! The problem resolved and our dogs had a wonderful stay with Laura and Joe. We have always used a kennel in the past. It is a small one and the dogs are out playing much of the day. Last time, things did not go well there for our 13 year-old dog. We tried Rover to find someone who would provide both a safe setting and special care for our dogs. We got this with Laura, for sure!”

About: I have a long long history with dogs. I have had pitbulls all my life and I will forever hold a place for them in my heart! I love all dogs truly. I am open to cats if they are friendly 😅! I do work a 9am-4pm work shift and don’t get home usually until 4:45pm. I am open to drop ins and anything else that helps your travel time truly! I can do frequent walks as soon as I wake up, before I leave for work and any time after I am home from work. Weekends I am usually freed up with a lot of time so I don’t mind walks or anything needed for your pet☺️. I live in an apartment so frequent walks is something i’m completely okay with. I would say if you have pets that don’t work well with prolonged times not using the bathroom I wouldn’t be a great fit just do to my day to day work schedule. Weekends are completely free! I’m comfortable giving medicine on a schedule, long walks or baths or anything your pet may need so you can be worry free! I do have a son that has been around big and small dogs and i’m comfortable training or correcting if needed! Just know any dog or cat is in great hands with me☺️❤️!
