Healthcare professional & CPR cert.Rochester, MN

Insured & bonded professional petsitter.

I'm a trustworthy, reliable medical professional who loves and has experience caring for dogs, cats, and a variety of small animals (e.g. fish, rabbits, rodents, reptiles, amphibians, birds...).

I am comfortable and experienced working with dogs ranging from 1lb to 200+ lbs. I'm comfortable caring for puppies, older dogs, special needs dogs, highly intelligent dogs, and high energy dogs. I'm especially comfortable working with shy rescue dogs, such as the adorable boxer in my picture. And as such I understand how important trust, patience, and consistency is.

Aside from a huge love of animals, I also have experience with housesitting, gardening, and extensive experience as a caregiver for humans/working with individuals with disabilities. My career and professional practice licensure require regular and extensive caregiver background checks. I also have reliable transportation, and I am a non-smoker.

I would love to have the opportunity to get to know you and your pets, even if they are unusual or exotic pets, and see if there is anything I can do to help or make your life easier.

My schedule is currently very flexible and includes both weekday and weekend availability.

About Us:

• Jenny is a shy, lovely rescue Boxer who originally came from a puppy mill situation. Everyone, both human and dog, loves her.

• Nala our is our spunky rescue puppy. She is boxer crossed with an old english bulldog. AKA "valley bulldog."

• Jeremy, the other human here, works for Mayo. He is a HUGE dog lover and has rescued many dogs over the years. He's got a huge sweet spot for Boxers, Bull Dogs, puppies in general, & any dog that snorts or has wrinkles/rolls.

Focus on Safety:

• Insured & bonded business.

• All puppies and dogs in my care are selected based on temperament and vaccination/health records. I do no work with owners who who misrepresent their dog's temperament, or who fail to provide sufficient information/records on their dog(s).

•. Our home is cleaned and maintained on a daily basis. This includes daily yard cleanup, vacuuming, carpet cleaning, surface cleaning, washing bowls/bedding/toys.. You name it.

• I maintain certification in Basic Life Support (healthcare provider CPR & AED) and certification in First Aide through American Heart Association.

• I completed a first aid & CPR class specific to dogs & cats. I also plan to do continue my research/education on these topics. In the unlikely chance that a dog in my care should become injured/ill, I want to be prepared to provide quality, immediate assistance.

• I keep a dog-specific first aid kit, a human-specific first aid kit, seasonal emergency gear, fresh drinking water & a dog bowl in my car at all times. I also carry a small dog first-aid kit with me on walks.

• I do not smoke or use illicit drugs, nor would I drive or provide any professional service while under the influence of alcohol. This seems like common sense to me, but I think it's worth mentioning.

• Our house is only 0.7 miles (4 minute drive) away from the nearest veterinarian clinic. There are 5 veterinarian clinics within a 3 mile radius of us, including emergency vet services. We have established relationships with a couple of different, trusted veterinarians near us. So rest assured that, in the unlikely event of an emergency, your fur child would get access to quality care very quickly.

• I have reliable transportation with snow tires, and reliable back-up transportation. I am able to safely transport pets to appropriate medical care as needed, and you can rely on me to provide safe, consistent animal care in your home.

• In the event of an emergency, dangerous weather, or a natural disaster you can count on me to do my best to communicate, coordinate, and work with you to make sure your pets are safe, comfortable, and well cared for.

Our Home

• 3 bedroom house, with a dedicated "dog bedroom." This room is filled with tons of bones, rubber chew toys, and plush dog toys. This is where Jenny's kennel is and where our spare, medium-sized kennel is kept.

• Fully fenced-in back yard for potty breaks, fetch, and safe playtime outdoors.

• Very friendly, diverse neighborhood with lots of loving dog owners and knowledgeable medical professionals. It is an excellent neighborhood to walk/socialize young puppies due to the varied, yet friendly, demographic.

Our Location:

• We are only 0.7 Miles (a 4 minute drive) from the nearest veterinary clinic. There are 5 veterinarian clinics within a 3 mile radius of us, including emergency vet services that we have previously utilized with our dogs.

• We are 4 miles NW of the Mayo Clinic & downtown Rochester. It is a very easy 8-10 minute drive by car.

• We are 2.5 miles from a beautiful dog park. This park has 3 fully-fenced areas: one area that is usually busier and two that are more calm/open.

• We are within 3 miles of 20+ parks, including some of our favorite places to hike with dogs.

• Both myself & Jeremy are from this area, so we are full of recommendations of fun places/things to do, both with and without your fur kids.

Boarding & Daycare Details:

• Drop-off and pick-up times need to be scheduled with me prior to booking.

• Regular pickup and drop-off hours are between 7-10am and 3-6pm.

• Requests outside of these hours will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

• Dog transportation to/from your home may be available. This can be especially helpful for those with long/unusual work hours.

Housesitting Details:

• Due to the nature of my work (e.g. doggy daycare, daytime drop-ins, etc.), my usual housesitting rate includes an overnight stay only.

• Any additional day-time drop-ins will need to be booked separately.

• Daytime or evening house sits of a shorter duration will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

L O V E to W A L K dogs!Rochester, MN

Here is our philosophy in a nut shell: the dogs are in E V E R Y family picture!

We have two dogs ourselves that we cannot get enough of, Macy Rae(Toy Poodle 2 years old) and Piper Belle(Pomeranian Poodle 2 years old). We take a walk every day and play lots of games with stuffed toys and balls. My husband Jake also is an avid dog lover. When he can, he takes our dogs to work with him!

I volunteer at Paws and Claws Humane Society at least once a week as a dog walker.

I am staying home with my one year old this year after teaching 1st grade for the last two years. I also teach dance in the evenings and some mornings at the Allegro School of Music and Dance.

I would love to meet, walk, play and snuggle with your four legged family member.

Animal LoverRochester, MN

I love dogs and animals! I have two small dogs of my own who enjoy playing with other dogs that I take care of at my home on occasion. We go for walks on trails or at parks and occasionally to the dog park if all the dogs get along with other dogs. They are free to be most anywhere in the house and I spend as much time with them as possible if I am not working. I do work 8-5 during the weekdays, but go home on my hour lunch break to give potty breaks for all my dogs.

I treat each dog as if he or she were my own and love to spoil them whenever possible. I try to make sure they get the same amount of love and exercise as they do at home, if not more.

Prefer dogs to people!Rochester, MN

I'm an animal advocate and am in animal rescue. I foster and volunteer with my rescue as well as dog sit part time. I have 3 dogs of my own a few cats and a turtle. I have some dogs that come to my home and other clients I go to their home. I work with people all the time and would prefer to just be with dogs! I have learned so much being in rescue, not only with dog behavior (aggression, resource guarding, non-socialized) but medically as well. I prefer to foster the scared, timid dogs watching them blossom and learn to trust is my overall solution. I have volunteered at our local animal control walking pit-bulls to Chihuahuas, there is no dog too big or little I cannot handle!

Home away from home for your petRochester, MN

In our home, pets are considered family, whether they are ours, someone else's, or a stray off the street. Dogs and cats receive the same (if not better) greeting and attention as any visitor would at our house, there's always a bowl of fresh water, a comfy pet bed, a scratch behind the ear and a treat in the treat jar! While spending time away from you, your pet can enjoy a fenced in back yard with lots of room to run and play, long walks, ample indoor space to lounge, relax and nap, and of course, lots and lots of attention, kisses and tender loving care. We offer stroller walks for older dogs who like to get out for walks, but can't go as far anymore too. I have been a pet owner my entire life and wouldn't have it any other way!

Very experienced animal-lover!Rochester, MN

Update: Just recently started going back to school for a veterinary nursing program. Hoping to get my certification and specialty in animal rehabilitation!

I am a college graduate who absolutely loves animals. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Conservation Biology, Marine Biology, and Environmental Policy & Management at the University of Minnesota. I am also a retired D1 athlete/competitively swam for 16+ years. I am still very active and love going on long walks during the day.

Since graduating college, I’ve studied elephants in Thailand, sharks in South Bimini, sea otters in Monterey, and have volunteered at dog shelters and the wildlife rehabilitation center in Roseville, Minnesota. I am highly experienced working with any breed or size of dog, anywhere from 1-200+ lbs. I’m also willing and comfortable administering any medication, if needed.

I also love photography - especially taking pictures of dogs. So you will most likely get a bunch of pictures during your dogs stay!!!

My dog Skye:

- Australian Shepherd

- Full of energy at all times of the day

- Would love to play with your dog

- Gets along with all breeds of dogs, male or female

- Loves to go to the dog park often or a long hike

I mostly work nights for only 2-6 hours at a time during the week and weekend, so I am home most of the day! We have a fenced in yard so the dogs can run outside whenever they want.

Pick up & drop off times are usually flexible.

I would love the opportunity to meet you & your dog!

Lifelong Dog LoverRochester, MN

Hi there!

My name is Katie and my fiance's name is Jerry. Both Jerry and I have grown up in dog loving/owning homes since we were children. We just can't get enough, hence our Rover business. I have been dog sitting for friends and acquaintances over the past several years now. Jerry has been doing the same for approximately one year. Throughout this time, we have collectively had the responsibility of overnight stays for extended periods of time, dog walking, providing playtime/companionship, providing food/water, administering oral medications, and much more!

Basic Boarding Information:

- Split level home: stairs can be bypassed when obscene amounts of snow are not present

- Good sized, fenced in backyard

- Meet and greets with your dog(s) are required before committing to any stay

- Jerry and I will both be present for meet and greets

- If our dogs do not mesh well, for whatever reason, we will not board your dog(s)

- If you already know that your dog does not get along with cats, please do not request a booking

- We have busy schedules, but our animals are almost never alone for more than 4-6 hours

- We will always separate our dog from yours when we are not home; as a preventative measure (one upstairs, the other down)

- Please make sure you let us know of any potential allergies to treats/food

- We have an elderly neighbor who's daily routine involves leaving treats on our side of the fence for our dog, Kira. Yours will likely receive some too ;)
