Pet care experience

Casual and lively environment

Hi! I’m a work-from-home mom living in the Slatterly Park neighborhood, just minutes from downtown Mayo Clinic. Working from home allows me to be around throughout the day and give pets plenty of attention, potty breaks, and companionship. I have three children, ages 6–10, who are comfortable and respectful around pets. We also have our own dog, a 12-year-old, 70-pound female poodle mix who is very calm and low-energy. Our home has a small fenced-in backyard, and I like to use my breaks during the workday to get outside and take the dogs for a walk around the block. I enjoy giving pets a relaxed, comfortable environment where they can feel at home while their owners are away. Most of my pet-care experience comes from caring for my own pets and helping friends by checking in on their pets while they’re away. What sets me apart is that I’m able to offer pets plenty of company throughout the day, a safe fenced yard, regular outdoor time, and a family environment with lots of love and attention. I treat every pet as an individual and do my best to keep their normal routine while they’re staying with us.

Michelle was great with my puppy! I’ve only had him a short while. He does not have great manners, and her being willing to work with him and be patient was such a blessing. Even though he can be difficult, she responded well, was transparent, and he had a wonderful time. We agreed that he should get some training before he comes back and is around younger kids, which was really helpful to learn. I definitely recommend!

Michelle was great to work with. Status reports and photographs of Bella living her best life while Michelle watched her helped us a lot to know that Bella was in a great place. Thank you Michelle

Michelle was fantastic with Juniper. Juniper is a super nervous dog and Michelle was very patient with her. Gave me plenty of updates knowing how nervous I was. Will definitely book with her in the future!

Schedule

My Schedule & Daily Routine I work from home Monday through Friday, so your pet will have plenty of company throughout the day. I often use my breaks to take the dogs for a walk around the block or let them outside for some fresh air. My workday ends at 5 PM, and if I do go into work, it is usually on a Wednesday. I also let my own dog outside frequently throughout the day since she is older, so there are plenty of opportunities for bathroom breaks and outdoor time.

Safety, trust & environment

My Home & Pet Care I have a fenced-in yard and a 12-year-old large poodle who is very calm and low-energy. She mostly enjoys relaxing in her bed, going on walks, and getting lots of scratches. I have gates throughout my home to keep dogs safely on the main floor and to separate them during feeding times when needed. I don’t have a crate or a large selection of dog toys, but I’m happy to provide plenty of attention, walks, scratches, and a comfortable place for your dog to relax and feel at home.

Pets

A typical day

A Typical Day With Pets I start the day by letting the dogs outside when I wake up, then I get breakfast going. After they eat, they get another chance to go outside. While I’m working, I let them out regularly, and on nice days I’ll use one of my breaks to take the dogs for a walk around the block. After work, usually around 5–6 PM, I feed them dinner and then we have more outdoor time and potty breaks. I like keeping a relaxed routine while making sure the dogs get plenty of attention, fresh air, and time outside throughout the day.

Important Things to Know About Your Pet Before your pet’s stay, I like to know their normal routine so I can make them feel as comfortable as possible. Please provide their feeding schedule, food, treats, dishes, leash/collar or harness, and any toys they enjoy. It’s also helpful to know their usual potty routine, sleeping preferences, personality, and any special instructions or medications. If there are things that make your pet nervous or any behaviors I should be aware of, please let me know ahead of time. I’ll also need an emergency contact and veterinarian information in case it’s ever needed.
