“I was nervous to board my dog for the first time but I am so glad to have found Nieves. Nieves is responsive before booking and answered all my questions. Nieves is sweet and you can tell she loves what she does. During the stay, she sent updates, photos and videos. My Loki was a happy pup. I recommend her services and will definitely book again! Thank you Nieves!”

“Yessenia was absolutely lovely to work with. She answered any questions we had as first time Rover customers in order to put us at ease. We could see from the first interaction that she would be kind to our dog, as she immediately got down and gave her hand to the dog to sniff and then pet her. She has a daughter with a sweet and gentle personality, who kindly shared her own blanket with the dog to make the dog feel more comfortable. Yessenia‘s husband was friendly and pleasant as well. Yessenia sent us multiple pictures and updates over the weekend while she watched the dog. Though we brought some supplies, she was also prepared with her own if necessary. Furthermore, since Yesenia had already experienced life with a senior dog, she offered us some suggestions that might help with our pup. Our Rusty had never been cared for by a stranger up to this point. It was hard for us to leave her. That said, we would not only highly recommend Yessenia and her family to other dog owners, we will definitely reach out to Yessenia again if we need someone to board the dog. She even included a lovely note about the experience. Her thoughts were genuine, and it was nice for us to be reminded about the beauty of our dog whom we see every day.”

“I adopted a dog last month and had to take an emergency trip for work and was worried what to do- I was lucky enough to come across Vanessa’s profile and after a meetup, decided to leave my new pup with her. The entire process from meeting Vanessa and her family to picking up Rio was flawless- the fact Rio shared a home with a home with a family vs being boarded was immense and the constant contact and updates kept me at ease. I now feel so much more comfortable when I need to travel knowing she can stay here and have an absolute blast in a family setting with a huge backyard for the dogs to play in.”

“Ed was great! We never left Snickers with anyone for more than one night so needless to say we were a little nervous. When we first met Ed, we could tell that he took his job seriously and is a true animal lover. We left Snickers with Ed for four nights and there were no complaints. Ed was great with sending photos and videos and kept us updated each day. Snickers was well taken care of and we would definitely leave him with Ed again. Thank you so much for taking such great care of our little fella.”

“Michael watched Finn over a 24 hour period and was very good. He was responsive and flexible and communicated theoughout the process. We look forward to boarding Finn again”

“Wendy and her family did a great job taking care of sparkle. I picked her up yesterday and I do believe sparkle is still looking for Wendy and family. We would definitely have you sit for sparkle again thank you.”

“Narly is the best host you can find. I always feel at ease when I’m away from Luna knowing Narly and Princess are taking care of her. Narly surpasses the five star rating.”

“My Claire stayed with Samantha. She gave Claire space to settle down and get comfortable in a environment that was not home. I felt at ease leaving Claire with Samantha. I received pictures even it though it was slightly over a 24 stay. I would totally recommend Samantha!”

“Rachel Rachel was absolutely wonderful with Nilo. This was our first time using her services after our regular sitter had an unexpected emergency, and she was kind enough to meet with us right away. Nilo can be a little challenging at times, so I made sure to explain his personality, behaviors, and needs. Rachel was incredibly patient, understanding, and caring from the very beginning. She took the time to make Nilo feel comfortable, took him on several walks, and it was clear that he felt safe and relaxed in her home. It means so much to find someone who genuinely cares for your pet, and Rachel did exactly that. We felt at ease knowing Nilo was in such good hands. We are so grateful for her help and would not hesitate to book with her again. Thank you, Rachel, for taking such great care of our Nilo! ❤️ We highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate pet sitter.”

“Vanessa was great with Domino! He was comfortable the moment we got there for our meet and greet. She has two dogs of her own and watched a couple others during his stay, which he thoroughly enjoyed. She definitely spoiled him too. I'm surprised he even came home. Vanessa was also very good at sending pictures and videos. I would definitely use her again for future needs.”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs of all sizes and temperaments since I was young. Neighbors, friends, and family have trusted me to feed, walk, and spend quality time with their pets while they were away. I understand how important routine, patience, and consistency are for animals, especially when their owners are not home. I am calm, attentive, and detail-oriented. I follow instructions carefully, maintain feeding and walking schedules, and make sure pets feel safe and comfortable. I’m also happy to provide photo and video updates for peace of mind. Whether your dog is energetic, shy, or senior, I adapt to their needs and make sure they receive loving, reliable care. I currently work part-time, which allows me to give pets plenty of attention and care. I’m available for boarding on weekends and weekdays after 2pm. During stays, I make sure pets receive consistent walks, playtime, and affection while maintaining their usual routines. I have a fenced yard and one small friendly, well-socialized dog. I always introduce pets gradually and supervise interactions to make sure everyone feels safe and comfortable. If needed, I can crate your dog and carefully follow any specific instructions regarding feeding schedules, exercise routines, or medications. My home is clean, calm, and pet-friendly, and your dog’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities.
“Alissa is amazing! She’s always reliable, accommodating, and so easy to work with!!!! We’ve used her many times and keep coming back because she’s truly the best. We always feel comfortable knowing our pet is in great hands with her. HIGHLY recommend!”

“Delmy and her family took wonderful care of my 2 dogs. They were walked every day, played with, and came home clean and happy. We could not be happier with their stay.”

About: I have owned every size of dogs and breeds. I can also train basic commands like sit, lay, up, and drop it. I also have dogs on my own and they are very friendly with other dogs. I am also bilingual if you don't know that much English. I am a high school student that can take care of your animals after school. I also don't work on the weekends so I have plenty of time those days. I have camaras in my house to keep on eye on the fur babies and I have two very friendly and caring dogs that like to socialize and one sassy mom dog of the other dogs.

“I was so worried about leaving my 5 month old puppy but thankfully got a referral to use Khris. He was so great with her and kept me constantly updated as to how she acclimated. Lots of texts & videos to make me feel better and to see her! He also was very accommodating with my schedule changes and late night pick up. Will definitely use again!”

About Me: I own a color-point Persian cat who is 7 years old that I enjoy spoiling. I can speak Italian, enjoy gardening, art, sewing, yoga, tennis & pilates. I’m a fan of the original Twilight movie directed by Catherine Hardwicke. 🐾 I’m currently providing pet care for a King Charles Cavalier who has mobility issues and dietary restrictions, but he is such a big mush! I am also caring for a special needs 4 month old kitten who needs to be syringe-fed, given both topical & oral medication on schedule, along with helping her with using a litter box. In addition to assisting with care of a (palm-sized) rescue kitten who is less than one month old needing to be bottle fed every few hours, given antibiotic medication for her eyes and frequent cleaning with wet wipes, due to being too young to know how to use a litter box. I have found it to be extremely rewarding and willing to look after a few more furbabies within my local area. 🔹 I’m trustworthy and reliable, I would always practice good manners. Respectful of privacy when I’m in a client’s home. I make sure that when I’m with your pet, safety is an upmost priority.

Just a note of thanks to Carla and her family for taking such good care of our Clover. We really miss her when we go away and Carla sent daily pictures and notes to keep us informed. We had peace of mind that our fur child was happy and not missing us one bit while we were going be. Thanks again. We look forward to booking with you in the future.

Thank You So Much, Ellen, for providing such wonderful care for Ozzy while we were away! Ellen bought fruits for Ozzy when we forgot to bring extra healthy snacks! It was truly a blessing that Ozzy got to stay at Ellen's meticulously clean house with the enchanting backyard!

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
