“We love having Rory stay with Janine. This was Rory’s 3rd stay, and she practically dragged me to Janine’s door at drop off. Janine is very communicative, reliable, and creates a safe space for Rory. She’s flexible with last minute requests and arranging drop-off and pick-up, and sends regular photos. Janine pays particular attention to Rory’s needs and comfort, and was very gratified at Rory’s increased comfort upon her third stay. We love Janine and will use her again soon.”

“Nachay was extremely amazing! She sent me updates on my dog, her dogs were extremely nice to my dog, she was also extremely nice to my dog, and my dog had an attitude when he came back home because he didn’t want to leave her house. I will be using her as a regular sitter from now on”

“My dog literally came back home so tired from having fun. He received excellent treatment he had another dog to play with (which was great to wear him out) I was sent multiple pics throughout the day letting me know that Ac was in excellent care. I will use them again and again 🙏🏽”

“The best sitter to book with! Xiaoying and her family are excellent and truly the sweetest! I had an overnight cat sitting service with them for a 7 nights and they sent me daily photos and videos and made sure to keep me updated! They also brought so many toys, a cat tree, and cat hideaway spots for my cat. My cat Lucki didn’t want to leave he really liked it there and it’s like his second home now😊 will definitely be rebooking with them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a pet sitter or boarding service! ❤️”

“Pam did an outstanding job looking after Maggie, our beagle! Pam's real affection for dogs was obvious from the start and her attention to Maggie's well being was top shelf. We really appreciated the pictures and videos showing Maggie to be very comfortable in her environment and well cared for. If Maggie could speak, I am sure she would howl her approval of Pam!”

“Shushma was the perfect care taker for our girl Lola. She was so quick to respond to all our messages and was so easy and friendly to work with. I felt so comfortable with leaving Lola at her house and will be happy to return.”

“Absolutely fantastic experience! Alba was great at communicating and sent plenty of photos, which really helped ease my nerves about leaving my Gigi with someone else. I could tell she was happy, comfortable, and well cared for the whole time. It made being away so much less stressful. I’ll definitely be using them again and would happily recommend them to friends!”

“Carla and her family took such wonderful care of our two dogs. They treat them as though they’re part of the family and it’s so evident when you drop the dogs off to them. Our boys were so happy when they arrived and fit right in. This is the second time our dogs have stayed with Carla and we look forward to the next time! Thank you so much!!”

Just a note of thanks to Carla and her family for taking such good care of our Clover. We really miss her when we go away and Carla sent daily pictures and notes to keep us informed. We had peace of mind that our fur child was happy and not missing us one bit while we were going be. Thanks again. We look forward to booking with you in the future.

Thank You So Much, Ellen, for providing such wonderful care for Ozzy while we were away! Ellen bought fruits for Ozzy when we forgot to bring extra healthy snacks! It was truly a blessing that Ozzy got to stay at Ellen's meticulously clean house with the enchanting backyard!

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Point Lookout home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
