Whether caring for pets in my home or a client’s home, I provide a safe, calm, and comfortable environment. I follow each pet’s routine and instructions, give them plenty of attention and supervision, and always treat them with patience, care, and respect.
“We had an amazing experience with our dog sitter, Samantha! She took such great care of our dog, Nugget, while we were away. She kept us updated with regular messages and the cutest pictures, which really put our minds at ease. It was clear that Nugget was having a great time—he went on plenty of walks and got to play outside often, which he absolutely loves. We could tell he was happy, well cared for, and in very good hands. Thank you so much for treating Nugget like family! We highly recommend her and would definitely book again.”

About: I grew up in a house with 3 dogs and have never known life with an empty house! I’ve been formally dog sitting for friends, family and clients since 2018 in my house on Long Island as well as in their apartments in Manhattan and Brooklyn. I was previously the assistant manager of a local dog day care and while some dogs do well in a boarding facility, I know how important it is for them to feel comfortable and stress free, and that can be in their home or mine! With over 20 repeat and regular clients who my relationship with them and their dogs spans across years, I have many referrals that can speak to my high level of care and love. I also am honored to have experience with senior aged dogs and those with medical conditions requiring medicine or special care and am happy and comfortable to provide it. Be prepared to receive a million picture and video updates from me of how we’re spending our days together so you don’t have to worry or wonder, and can enjoy your vacation as stress free as possible. Especially if you’re away during a holiday or even their birthday, we always celebrate with special treats, toys and activities so nothing is ever missed. When your pet is in my care, they become a member of my family and are treated as such! I work full time remotely from the comfort of my house, which allows me to spend all my time on the couch with the dogs I’m sitting for and take them to play in the backyard or for a walk whenever we want. I am able to accommodate and be flexible with bathroom and feeding schedules as necessary. I have a very large, fenced in backyard with grass and concrete that dogs are able to enjoy. I also have a doggy door if they are trained that they can access the backyard whenever they would like/need to potty (can also be locked shut!). I am happy to follow any specific care instructions no matter how unique or strange you might think they are, I’ve heard it all and love learning every dogs personality and quirks that make them who they are. The dogs I sit for are just like my own pets, they are welcome and encouraged to join me on furniture, to sleep in bed with me or can be crated if preferred and one is provided (although I certainly prefer cuddling with them if allowed!).
“Our dog Hazelnut couldn’t have been in better hands than Ariella! Ariella was very attentive to all the details, likes/dislikes, and notes of our little Hazey during our Meet & Greet and she exemplified it while watching her. She treated Hazelnut with so much love and was very responsive with her needs. She would send us pictures and notes regarding Hazelnut while we were away. We will always feel confident with Ariella watching our dog Hazelnut in the future and we highly recommend her to anyone and everyone!”

Dear Khris!! My goodness, you work miracles!!! she’s a difficult girl in certain circumstances, and I was a little concerned about how she would be once I picked her up after her 2 1/2 days stay. Well, I am overjoyed, to say the least. I couldn’t have asked for better care. You have surpassed my expectations. I look very forward to seeing you in the future, and Dezi says so too!!!! Thank you so much for all of your special care.

Kristen was nice enough to watch our chocolate lab Colt while we were away for a few days and right away we knew we could have peace of mind because Colt was in good hands. From the moment she picked him up we received constant updates and pictures, and we could tell he was always being played with or out for a walk. I’m so happy that we had the opportunity connect our pup with Kristen and look forward to using her as a sitter again in the future. I’d absolutely recommend her to anybody

Shushma and her family are amazing! She saved me during the last snow storm when the person meant to watch Haddie couldn’t get home due to flight cancellations and it was absolutely meant to be. She provided lots of updates and it was clear the family and their dogs had completely embraced Haddie as one of their own.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Barnum Island home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Barnum Island.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Barnum Island sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
