I used Janine for the first time, and she exceeded every expectation. She was professional, communicative, and genuinely caring, providing regular updates that gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. I came home to a happy, well-cared-for dog, and I would absolutely trust her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for an exceptional dog sitter.

We love having Rory stay with Janine. This was Rory’s 3rd stay, and she practically dragged me to Janine’s door at drop off. Janine is very communicative, reliable, and creates a safe space for Rory. She’s flexible with last minute requests and arranging drop-off and pick-up, and sends regular photos. Janine pays particular attention to Rory’s needs and comfort, and was very gratified at Rory’s increased comfort upon her third stay. We love Janine and will use her again soon.

I wanted to like this experience as I came here just like you for the good reviews to feel safe leaving my dog in Janine’s care, but several things went wrong that I can’t overlook as a dog owner. First, the communication around photos: we agreed to daily updates and went nearly two days without receiving any. When I followed up, I was told they “never went through” which is a convenient explanation that’s hard to verify. Additionally, in all the photos we did receive, Maple was only ever indoors or in a closed yard. We never once received a photo of her being walked outside, which raises questions about whether that was actually happening. Second, and most seriously, Maple was let out the front door without a leash during pickup. I was explicit, from the start, that Maple is never to be off leash outdoors under any circumstances. When I raised this, Janine’s response was to blame my mother, claiming she told her “Maple always does this.” That explanation doesn’t hold up. If that were true, why would I have been so specific about the leash rule in the first place? The story contradicts itself. In one statement she says my mom chased Maple, in the other AI response she claims she was focused on getting Maple back safely the entire time. It also raises a broader concern: if multiple dogs were crowding the door during a pickup, how often is that happening? That’s a safety issue beyond just our dog. I can’t recommend this sitter for anyone. Rather than the back and forth, I requested security footage from a doorbell camera or house cameras only for her to send pictures of the basement and backyard cameras operating fine but the Front Door camera to be offline claiming that this battery is dead and she doesn’t know how to change it without her ex-husband. Nothing adds up here.
