About: I’ve been caring for animals from a small child. Many people have called me the Animal Whisperer because the connection I have with animals and many experiences with animals in my lifetime. Our family of three children has owned many dogs and cats giving me experience with pets of different personalities, needs, and routines. I understand that every pet deserves patience, kindness, and individualized care. Whether it’s going for a walk, playtime, feeding, or simply providing companionship. I’ll treat your pet with the same love, attention, and respect I’d give my own. I’m a retired IT professional with over 45 years of customer service experience, which gives me the flexibility to work around your pet’s schedule and not the other way around. I’m dependable, punctual, and genuinely enjoy spending time with animals. In my free time, I love pickleball, walking, hiking, biking, whitewater rafting, music DJ, and volunteering in my community. An active lifestyle makes me a great companion for energetic pets, while my calm, patient nature helps shy or senior pets feel comfortable. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, playtime, or simply relaxing with a caring companion, I’ll provide the attention, affection, and reliable care they deserve. When caring for pets in your home, my goal is to keep their routine as normal and stress-free as possible. I’ll carefully follow your instructions for feeding, fresh water, medications (if needed), walks, litter box or yard cleanup, and playtime. I also understand that many pets simply enjoy companionship, so I’ll make sure they receive plenty of attention, affection, and reassurance while you’re away. I’ll treat your home with the utmost respect, keeping it clean, secure, and exactly as you left it. Throughout each visit or stay, I’ll send regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for.
About: I grew up with dogs in my home since I was a child. I moved to Charlotte in 1999 and got my Jack Russell Terrier Norman and he was so loved he lived until 18 1/2! I thought I’d give it some time before I got another dog but we ended up getting Coco two weeks later and Enzo several months later. The humans in my household are me, my husband, Chris and my two teenage sons, Greyson (17) and Cayden (16). We all love dogs! I’ll be the only caregiver of your pet but just wanted to include who else is in our home. I’m a stay at home mom so I’m home to give your dog the care he or she needs. My two dogs are very friendly and love to play! I worked for a veterinarian in college so I’ve been around many types of dogs and cats. At my house dogs are family. They are allowed on our furniture and sleep in our bed. We have a huge fenced in yard with a 6 foot privacy fence.
About: What sets me apart from other sitters is my professional experience working at a dog boarding facility for two years, where I cared for dogs of all ages and temperaments. This experience has given me the skills to handle various situations, from managing energetic pups to providing special attention for senior dogs. Additionally, I've been a dog owner since 2012, which has allowed me to develop a strong understanding of dog behavior, training, and the everyday care needed to keep a pet happy and healthy. I am dedicated to providing your pet with the best possible experience. I’m currently working part-time so I have plenty of extra time to care and love for your pet. I am free mornings and early afternoon as well as late nights. But I can be flexible. Whatever you and your pet need. Unfortunately, my childhood dog recently passed away but now I have extra space and time for your pets! I have all the necessary things to care for your pet as well as a crate for smaller dogs if needed. But every dog is different so the routine I had for my dog is different than the routine your pet is used to, so whatever your pet needs while you are away, I will be happy to provide that for you both.
About: I’m a mom of 3 kids and 4 fur babies. I would love to care for your pets and they would be treated like my own! I grew up with pets of all kinds and have always loved them! We currently have 2 cats, a dog and a bunny. I am patient and pay special attention to details. I enjoy connecting with and getting to know new pets and making them feel comfortable with me. I work part time so my schedule for pet care is very flexible! With advanced notice I can usually accommodate most requests. We can do a meet and greet and see if it’s a good fit for both of us. I can check in on your pup at your home, feed, water, play with and give potty breaks or I can take your pup for a walk.Your pets will be blessed under my care! Reach out with any questions!
“Kristena is this patient, flexible and knowledgeable. She has the same breed of dog that I have and she’s giving me great insight on bear. When Bear returns home from the walk, he is so tired that all he can do is lay on the floor, which I appreciate very much. Since our chronic migraines and other health issues, I really appreciate all that Kristena how interacts with Bear.”

“Alan communicated all the needed information from the walks. He was always punctual for the 6 evenings that he walked McAlister. My dog loved him and was exhausted after his walk. Yea!!! Alan also learned our routine quickly, and I didn't need to be around when he arrived at our home. I hope he will agree to walk McAlister again. Thank you, Alan”
“This was my first time having someone walk my Nova girl and I was very impressed with Cerys’ communication and ability to connect with Nova so quickly! It was such a relief coming home from a long work days to a happy pup. Thank you, Cerys!!”

“Morgan has been great!! We asked for her help while i get acclimated to the day to day caring for our newborn and our dog since my husband has returned to work. She is always on time and is ready to go on a walk the moment she walks in the door. She’s no fuss, and her priority is getting the dog out the door right away. Our dog seems to love his walks because he has started waiting for her at the door/window for their walk in the morning. We get cute photos from every walk they take. If you need a reliable, pet loving walker, Morgan is a no brainer.”

About: I've spent my entire life surrounded by pets, owning and caring for both cats and dogs of all shapes, sizes, and ages! Whether you have an energetic puppy learning the ropes, a playful adult, or a sweet senior who just wants a quiet cuddle, I'll adapt my care to fit their exact personality and energy level. Beyond standard feeding and walking, I'm also experienced in managing pets with specific medical and behavioral needs. I'm completely comfortable administering medications (including oral meds, topical treatments, and strict schedules) and maintaining routines for anxious or high-needs animals. Your pet's safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities, and I will care for them just like they're my own! I run my own business from home, which means I have an incredibly flexible schedule! Throughout the week, I am around to provide frequent potty breaks, interactive playtime, and consistent companionship. Because I set my own hours, I can easily adapt my workday around your pet's specific walking, feeding, and medication schedules. The only exception to my routine is every other weekend, when I work from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM at a local marina in Lake Wylie. On those specific working weekends, I am still fully available for early morning and evening care, and I can easily plan drop-ins or walks around those hours. Outside of those alternating weekend shifts, my time is completely open to give your pets the dedicated, full-time attention they deserve! As a home-based business owner, I understand how important security, privacy, and peace of mind are. When I enter your home for walks or drop-in visits, I treat your property with the exact same respect, care, and vigilance that I give my own. I meticulously follow all entry and exit instructions: double-checking that doors and windows are locked tightly, security systems are armed properly, and keys are stored securely exactly where you specify. I ensure your space stays clean and tidy. I wipe down muddy paws after rainy walks, clean up any pet messes promptly, and always make sure water bowls are fresh before I leave. You will receive detailed updates and photo cards after every single visit. I'm fully transparent so you never have to wonder how your pet—or your home—is doing while you are away.
“Duke and I love Brandi so much. She made duke feel so loved and comfortable and gave him long walks and tons of love. She is forever our go to whenever we go out of town or a just because walk because I know duke loves her. Thanks Brandi 💗”

About: I grew up on a farm and have been around animals since childhood. I have fostered 30+ dogs, along with having my two boys. I consider myself aware and alert to dog behaviors (both visible and invisible). When you book with me, your dog is getting more than just a sitter, they are getting an experience. Looking forward to taking care of your pup! I work from home as a therapist. My day doesn’t start until noon. After that I have random gaps in my day for potty breaks and outside play time. Depending on when you drop off, your pup will join us for our morning walk/hile. I treat your dog like I treat mine. A balance of love and attention with a combination of leadership and authority. This is how trust is built.
“Maddie was incredible! I reached out last minute and wouldn’t be able to meet her before hand. Her good reviews and repeat clients gave me a lot of reassurance. My dog’s walk went perfectly and Maddie had great communication. We will definitely be re-booking 😊”

Brandi is amazing!!!! Bailed me out so I could wedding venue shop with my daughter and walked my very clingy and very anxious pups. I could not be more grateful for the help today and will definitely be calling on you again. Thank you so much for loving on my crazy furry kids🥰

Alan communicated all the needed information from the walks. He was always punctual for the 6 evenings that he walked McAlister. My dog loved him and was exhausted after his walk. Yea!!! Alan also learned our routine quickly, and I didn't need to be around when he arrived at our home. I hope he will agree to walk McAlister again. Thank you, Alan
Mya was phenomenal! We went to the NASCAR roval and did not plan on it being as long of a day then it turned out to be. We booked Mya the night before (my husband and I travel the country full time). I was a little worried being that we usually stay in VRBO’s rather than hotels. However, mya put all those worries to rest! She sent pictures and my puppies were very happy when I came home!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
