Information Skylar E. would like to know about your pet
Ahead of time, I would love to arrange a meet and greet to make sure that I am the best sitter for both you and your animals. It is also important for your animals to be fully comfortable with me and learn to trust me, especially if they have separation anxiety, and/or special needs. I need to know if your animals are friendly with other animals (dogs, and/or cats) and if they like to be socialized, and if they have any dietary restrictions or concerns.
A typical day
I currently live right next to a walking trail and large, public park where my dog and I frequently ran, hike and explored while she was living. This trail is dog friendly and includes plenty of pet waste areas. I also live next to a designated dog park, with plenty of space for friendly dogs to interact, play and run safely.

Former Senior Dog Owner & Trainer
Pet care experience
Experienced caretaker with references. I have a decade of personal and professional experience caring for animals, including both dogs and cats. With a Master's in Nonprofit Management, I formerly worked as a Lead Educator with both The Arkansas River Valley Nature Center and Tulsa, Oklahoma Zoo. My former job responsibilities included educating the public, as well as caring for animals in a professional setting, such as feeding, caring for and training dogs and cats. I currently only care for dogs and cats. Professionally, I have also cared for a number of household dogs and cats, including my own. For nearly a decade, neighbors, friends and colleagues have relied on me to care for their pets while away on vacation: walking, feeding, bathing, training, etc. I have even cared for a stranger's dog while I was away on vacation. While staying in a Belgium Airbnb, I frequently walked and cared overnight for the host family's dog. For years, families have trusted me inside their homes and relied on my foundation of care.. while their pets relied on my bag of treats! I very recently put to rest my senior dog, Nellie-Mae, who has been by my side for over a decade. As a lifelong dog-owner, I have experience training puppies, and caring for both senior dogs and cats. My memorialized companion, Nellie, was also a registered service animal, who provided care for my grandmother while she was living with Alzheimer's disease.
Reviews

She is great thank you for always taking care of my babies
We hired Sklylar to stay here at our house overnight and during the day to stay with our dogs, walk them and to feed them during our 10 day vacation. It was our understanding that this job would be performed by her per our discussions prior to the actual appointment. Unfortunatey when we arrived home yesterday, we walked in to the strong smell of gas. The stove knob had been turned on and left on. Additionally, we learned that she broke our garbage/recycle cabinet door pull out tray (requires being replaced) and the house was left rather dirty. The doorbell camera showed us that she had not been at the house 2 nights, when in fact she told us that these nights she would be leaving for a short time to feed her roommates cat. When we texted her our concerns, she said that she would make other arrangements. We do believe she did try to keep the dogs hydrated based the pictures and text messages she sent us. Finally, she offered to give them goat milk and made up a container evidently for them. We asked her not to give it to them as they do not drink goat milk and please follow the written detailed menu instructions we provided.

Skylar was fantastic!

Skylar is the sweetest and a very good communicator. She walks our dog and makes sure she gets a treat and fresh water.
