“Miriah is the best sitter on Rover by far! I never worry about leaving my two dogs with her, she always sends the cutest photos and updates on how they’re doing. They go on long walks and to parks with other dogs! My dogs are on vacation too when they stay with her, I cannot recommend her enough!”

“This is our 4th or 5th time with Newman, Gary, and Sue. We could not ask for better care for our dog, River. He is treated like part of the pack. We receive regular updates and we can tell he’s received as much love and attention as he gets from us. We live in Huntsville but bring River down with us so he can stay with his favorite dog and favorite sitters. We are so grateful to them and will continue using them each time we head this way. Book with them! You won’t be disappointed.”

“Diana was incredible with our Bella. She went out of her way to make sure she was comfortable, even giving her new toys. I highly recommend Diana to anyone looking for someone they can trust with their pets!”

“I can’t think of anything that could improve my experience with MaryEllen. She is a charming person with a very nice home and family, and Norman, my rat terrier, was immediately made to feel like one of the family. I hope MaryEllen is available the next time Norman is in need of a sitter.”

“Autumn took very good care of Riley ❤️. I would definitely leave my pup with her when I’m in Orange Beach again. Her dogs got along great with mine and they played in the yard. Highly recommend!”

About: I started working at the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo in animal husbandry, then I ended up working at an animal hospital. I have been a veterinary technician for about 6 years. In this time I have gained a lot of medical experience with animals and have learned how to truly care for pets. I am able to care for older animals as well as any fur babies on medicine. I have a dog and a cat myself, so I know how hard it is to leave them to go on vacation. I am here to give your fur babies all the love and comfort so that you can go wherever you need to go without worrying. I am available to take care of your babies at any time of the week. I do have two pups of my own that I may have to go home to let out if staying at your home. If your babies are staying at our home then they will all get plenty of play time and couch naps. I am willing to come by a few times a day to let your animals out to use the bathroom, love on them, and feed them. I am also able to stay at the home if needed. I am willing to take your fur babies on walks if they need the extra exercise as well!

“Thank you, Kelly, for taking such wonderful care of Lucy and for letting her snuggle with you! I appreciate the updates and photos and great communication regarding pick up and drop off!”

“I needed a last minute pet sitter due to work hours. Deborah immediately responded and booked. I have never used a pet sitter before. But when I met her, I knew she would talke extra special care of my fur baby! She gave me updates throughout the day which meant a lot to me! Thank you Deborah! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!”

“Patty was very responsive and made sure my puppy got to do all her favorite things while we were away. She made her feel as at home as possible. I would definitely use her again to watch our baby.”

“Tammie took such good care of Piper! We loved all of the pictures she sent of Piper having such a good time. She treated Piper like she was part of her family. We would definitely recommend letting her keep your fur babies (unless there’s a conflict when WE need her!)”

“She was the sweetest lady iv ever met made sure he felt at home and was happy and I got tons of messages and photos from her during the night he came home so happy and playful 🥰 he loved every minute with her and I give her a 10/10 she is one of the best pet sitters iv ever had and I would love her to be his permanent sitter !!!”

“Peggy was great with Peter, our cat. He is very shy and by the end of his stay, he was rolling around like he does at home and allowing her to brush him. He was very quick to become calm/happy during his stay, and I know it was due to her kindness and patience with him. She also was very communicative with me, and would send me lots of pictures of Peter! I would book with her again 100%!”

“We had a last minute suprise trip over the holidays and Michael was immediately available to help, even though the trip spanned over a holiday. He was incredibly easy, responsive and kind. We were nervous using Rover but I would 100% recommend him. Thank you, Michael!”

“Nicole watched our 1 year old golden Luna for a weekend and I could not have asked for a better dog sitter! She sent us continuous updates with lots of pictures and was extremely responsive. She made sure to follow all of my instructions and made me feel less anxious the moment we initially met. I can tell that Luna had such a wonderful time with her in her home and was taken care of exactly the way I would want her to be. I have nothing but positive things to say about Nicole and recommend her to anyone who is in need of a dog sitter in the Pensacola area.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in FL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
