“Sam was amazing! She made me feel so relieved and comfortable, especially sense it was my first time using a sitter. Volly seemed so happy there! Sam was adamantly responsive. Ill definitely be using her again in the future! Thanks again Sam!!”

“Michael was friendly and I could tell he really loves dogs. He took great care of my dog while I was away and sent daily text/photo updates to put me at ease that all was well. I will use him for dog boarding again in the future.”

“This was my first time with Miriah with our Carin Terrier, Nigel. She kept him for 8 days. I couldn’t have asked for a better caretaker! Nigel had a great time and made a lot of new friends. Miriah kept us updated with daily reports and photos and video. I am very picky when it comes to my dog and I highly recommend Miriah! I look forward to using her again soon! Thanks, Miriah!”

“I cannot recommend her enough!! Leaving my 9-week-old puppy with someone for the first time made me so nervous, but she completely exceeded every expectation I had. From the moment I dropped my puppy off, I felt 100% at ease. She provided constant updates, and photos which meant so much to me and really showed how much she genuinely cares. My puppy had the absolute best time playing with her resident dogs and was so happy, stimulated, and loved the entire stay. Honestly, I don’t even think my puppy wanted to leave! That alone says everything. It’s clear she creates such a safe, fun, and loving environment for the dogs in her care. It is such a relief to have found someone I fully trust, and I will absolutely be booking with her again. If you’re looking for someone who will treat your dog like their own, she is the one!”

“Jessica was a last-minute reservation to keep Shelby for me as I had to fly out of the country. She gave me updates daily on him with pictures of how well he was doing, and I’m amazed because Shelby is such a mama’s boy that it’s too funny that he adapted to other people as well as he did I will definitely”

“Daniel did a great job. He first suggested a meet and greet at the dog park before committing which I really liked. He has two wonderful dogs who got along really well with ours. He took good care of Little Rock. He sent us couple of pictures every day. Always responded in a good timely manner when I texted him. Kept me updated on our dog adjusting and eating manner. And provided more food for LR when he ran out of what we provided. We definitely recommend his services and will be using help again in the future.”

“The best rover we have ever had. Andrea was kind, attentive and very communicative. She sent multiple updates and treated Wrigley like one of her own. If you want to have peace of mind while you are away definitely go with Andrea!! 1000000/10.”

“Natalie and her family were wonderful! They made our shy furbaby feel right at home. Great communication from the first meet and greet to the day of pick up. It’s so nice to know we can relax and not worry about our furbaby when we are out of town.”

“Nicole has been amazing with our dog, she was really nice since the moment I contacted her. She gave us lots of updates during the long weekend and some pictures. We’ll definitely contact with her again whenever we need someone to take care of our Ky”

“Had a wonderful experience with Tim and Mariah! Their home was clean, safe, and dog-friendly, which made me feel comfortable leaving my dog in their care. They were attentive, providing updates and photos of my dog showing it felt right at home, and she looked so happy and relaxed when I picked her up. I highly recommend Tim and Mariah to anyone looking for a warm and caring environment for their pet.”

“Melanie and her family were wonderful with Maya. Her dog Georgie was also so sweet and was able to put up with our high energy pup. We are so grateful for the great care that was provided and we would trust our furry ones with Melanie any day.”

“Excellent accommodating, Excellent communication, Excellent service. Lindsey sent pics of tanner to us daily while we were away and missing him. He was very well cared for and we will definitely use Lindsey again.”

“Andrea was amazing! We talked like we’ve known each other forever just after meeting. She’s quick to respond and I loved receiving updates on how my babies were doing. My very active dogs had space to run around in her yard. They came back home exhausted from the days of playing and fun they had . I had to pick my babies up a little later than expected and Andrea was more than willing to work with me . Oak & Ivy love Andrea and her family and will be back soon . Thank you for creating a safe space for my fur babies. I’ll only ever book with you 💖”

“Kerry and Kim are amazing! They were able to accommodate Cayenne on very short notice which we were SO grateful for. She also had the best time while she was with them. Will definitely stay with them again!”

“These are the best dog sitters you will find! They are always sending you tons of great pics and updates about your pup and you can tell they really love taking care of your furry family member. They provide a great home environment for pups. Will definitely use them again when I’m back in the area and would highly recommend them to anyone needing a dog sitter.”

Omg, I can not rave enough about the care that our pup received from Christina and her amazing family! They treated Koda like their own. And we received several photos and feedback the 9 days we were away. They put a smile on my face every time. 10/10 recommend!!!

We needed a dependable person to care for our four legged family person.. Sherri set up a meet and greet weeks in advance and we found her to be cheerful and very accommodating to our Philo.. She shared occasional photos through the week.. Kinda felt like Philo wouldn’t have minded staying there longer. Good job Sherri.. We’ll use you again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
