“Daniel was awesome! He took care of our Weimaraner for two nights on relatively short notice. He got her plenty of exercise and regularly goes to the park. His house was very dog friendly and has plenty of toys and bones (no raw hide) that he gets from a local butcher. We will definitely be using Daniel again in the future!”

“Peggy was great with Peter, our cat. He is very shy and by the end of his stay, he was rolling around like he does at home and allowing her to brush him. He was very quick to become calm/happy during his stay, and I know it was due to her kindness and patience with him. She also was very communicative with me, and would send me lots of pictures of Peter! I would book with her again 100%!”

“We boarded our dog Appa with Laura for the weekend and couldn’t be happier with the care she provided! She sent plenty of updates and photos all weekend and Appa came home happy and tired! Would absolutely board our dog with Laura again 😊”

“Madison is amazing! She is so prompt with communication. She sent updates and pictures, and went above and beyond to love our dog and make us feel at ease while out of town! She loves animals and made the whole process easy! I cannot recommend her enough!”

“Mally was wonderful! We travel regularly for medical care for our youngest child and needed a place for our fur child last minute as our regular pet sitter was unavailable. Mally was very accommodating and put our minds at ease that Tito (fur child) would be in good hands. Thank goodness for her is all I can say. Our little buddy ended up getting sick while we were gone. Malloy went above and beyond, finding a vet who would see him on a HOLIDAY and rushed him to the vet right away as soon as she spoke to us. He was admitted to the vet for 2 nights and was doing much better by the time we arrived home to get him. Malloy was wonderful.”

“Elaine is the BEST! She treats all the dogs like they are her own. Love and attention is a guarantee. My labradoodle loves to go to Elaine’s…. And that makes it easy to leave her there when I travel.”
“Wonderful sitter! Plenty of pics and videos of my dog playing, walking and resting. I felt very comfortable leaving my pup with Sami as she is so sweet and considerate. He had so much fun playing with her little dog! They even went on a nice trail hike together. 🥰”

“Deke took excellent care of our two pups during our first trip away from them! He sent daily updates and pictures to keep us in the loop, which we really appreciated. While we were nervous about how one of our younger dogs would do, since he tends to get into trouble when left at home, Deke seemed to have no issues handling his rambunctious self and made us feel like they were in very safe and caring hands. Thank you so much, Deke!”

“Jeily was fabulous to work with. We recently acquired a new pup, and not knowing how he would react in a new environment, we were hesitant to leave him with a boarder. After our initial meet and greet, we felt like Jeily would be the best fit.. and we were right. Our dog had the best time meeting new friends. We highly recommend Jeily!”

“My Basset seems to love it here. This time he seemed so happy when we pulled up to the house. He loves to get to cuddle while he's there. She always sends some photos too so I can see my baby.”

“Laura was wonderful! We are from out of town, so when another Rover cancelled very lastsecon, as we came into town for the Blue Angels, Laura was there, on the spot. Ozzie was relaxed and made himself right at home! She checked in a couple times of day to let me know how he was doing.”

“I rate Christina & Gabriel a 5-Star! Ruby had a blast! I get uncomfortable leaving my baby with someone knew. Since moving to Maine, I didn’t know or have family close to watch her like I used to. I found Christina and Gabriel on Rover and read through their profile. I thought I would give them a try. They were absolutely AMAZING!!! They sent me photos everyday of baby girl and kept me updated. Ruby didn’t even want to leave when I came to get her. Traitor! I knew they played with her because she kept going and getting her toys and and bringing them to me to play for days after she came home. She hardly ever does that. I would recommend Christina and Gabriel, 100 times over.”

“Deborah took care of our Corgi for the weekend and was phenomenal! She was very timely in her responses and sent us pictures to help keep our minds at ease. 100% rebooking with her next time!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in FL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
