“Ashley was great from assisting me as I was last minute request from evacuating due to hurricane. Ashley took great care of my pup and provided me with daily pictures. 100% recommend Ashley”

“We hadn't been anywhere in several years because of Covid, so our two senior dogs not only had all the eccentricities that old dogs develop, but the anxiety of being away from home and us for the first time in years. And because of that, we had our own separation anxiety. But Jana was just simply terrific. Sweet and kind to our little old guys, very attentive to their needs and ours as well, sending us photos and updates to let us know they were in good hands. It was very telling how mellow they were we picked them up, and how attached they'd become to her. We could not give her a higher recommendation ... and our dogs still miss her. Thumbs up all the way. Really great sitter.”

“Lois and Stanza enjoyed their stay, as always! When we arrive they run excitedly to the house and don’t even notice us leaving. They also don’t want to leave when we come back to pick them up! I’m happy leaving my kiddos with Elaine as I know she will take great care of them.”

“Gina was very gracious with short notice, and we were able to do a meet and greet. She has a friendly nice home and I know Juno enjoyed this over boarding. Had plenty of pictures. We Will use her again.”

“Cheryl was great! 5 stars. I could tell immediately that she would really care about Lola and she did. She was a great communicator and a joy to work with –we’ll definitely ask her again.”

“Sydney was wonderful—she sent photos of Leonidas everyday he was with her and he was such a happy pup when I picked him up! I can feel how positive the energy is in Sydney’s home and how well she cared for him. He loved playing with her dog and being with a family while I was away. Thank you so much Sydney!”

“I left Teddy and Sunshine with Kasha from 2/5/20-216/20 while I went on vacation. When I returned, I was so excited to see them! My puppies were healthy and happy. I couldn’t ask for more than that. You can totally trust Kasha to look after your dog and keep him or her healthy, safe, exercised, and happy.”
“Susan was a wonderful sitter and I would recommend her to anyone looking for someone who is kind and accommodating to take care of their dog. She sent regular updates that included pictures and made us feel at ease that our dog was being well taken care of. Our dog seemed relaxed and comfortable and had plenty of attention and time outside. Thank you Susan!”

About: From puppies to senior adult dogs, I have experience in it all. I work in the medical field myself (on humans) but have had plenty of opportunities over the years to be exposed to different breeds and what works best for them. I’m looking forward to getting to know your dog’s personality and what care best suits them! When I was about ten years old, my family adopted our first dog. I had had it written on my mirror for MONTHS - “I want a beagle.” The timing was perfect that one just happen to wander into our lives (he was about a year old at that time)! I spent my childhood caring for my dog, taking him on daily walks. Flash forward a few years to the end of his life, he unfortunately went blind and was diagnosed with diabetes. I helped care for him by giving him his insulin shots and making it as easy as possible to navigate the house. I was very involved in his care during his senior years and have always had a soft spot for elderly dogs. When I was in college, I decided to take on a dog of my own and got a puppy for the first time. My dog, Wilson, was seven weeks old when I got him - he is now almost eight so I guess I did something right 🤪 I work as a registered nurse, so I work three days a week and have the other four days a week to play with your pups! If you have any questions regarding my availability, please reach out to me! I will follow all house rules and rules regarding your pets. Having used Rover for my own dog, I know how important it is to know and trust the sitter that you are allowing into your home to watch your sweet babies. I hope that we can establish a relationship where I can be that for you!
“Ray & Sherry were great! Quick to respond to questions, courteous and welcoming and their home is set up great for dogs. Lots of pictures and updates too! Highly recommended!”

“Peggy was a complete life saver and I will recommend her to everyone I know! I messaged her the night before our week long vacation, frantically trying to figure out a plan for our 7 month old Golden. She was available, responsive, and super helpful with getting everything set up. We dropped our sweet girl off the next morning, which was very easy and she was very welcoming. During our vacation, we would get pictures and updates.. she was basically part of Peggy's family. Knowing our Luna was in great hands 100% made our vacation stress-free and we were so appreciative!! Luna even came home with a new stuffie that hasn't left her side. Thank you SO much, we will absolutely use you again!”

“Maria was wonderful! We’ve never left our 2 schnauzers with anyone but family and Maria treated them like her own- She sent photos and videos- They loved playing with her dog Baxter- I can’t say enough about Maria , she made our out-of-town trip so much easier knowing that our biys were being taken care of by such a loving family!”

“Erica kept our dogs for a full week and we are thrilled and impressed with her care and communication. When she says she’ll treat your dog just like they’re hers, it’s not a cliche. She means it! We have no complaints. Erica exceeded all of our expectations. Ted and Aria love you and so do we. You’re family now.”

“Ashley was so great with Brick! She was very understanding of his high-energy and she let him play with her dogs! We got lots of pictures and videos of him playing and lounging, and she made sure to stick to his medication schedule! We'd for sure use them again!”

About: I started working at the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo in animal husbandry, then I ended up working at an animal hospital. I have been a veterinary technician for about 6 years. In this time I have gained a lot of medical experience with animals and have learned how to truly care for pets. I am able to care for older animals as well as any fur babies on medicine. I have a dog and a cat myself, so I know how hard it is to leave them to go on vacation. I am here to give your fur babies all the love and comfort so that you can go wherever you need to go without worrying. I am available to take care of your babies at any time of the week. I do have two pups of my own that I may have to go home to let out if staying at your home. If your babies are staying at our home then they will all get plenty of play time and couch naps. I am willing to come by a few times a day to let your animals out to use the bathroom, love on them, and feed them. I am also able to stay at the home if needed. I am willing to take your fur babies on walks if they need the extra exercise as well!
“Linda was wonderful with my baby Carrot. Carrot is very shy and takes a while to get used to people. Linda was very good with her and Carrot warmed up to her very quickly. I got pictures and daily updates which made me feel better about leaving her. Linda did a great job!”

“Sofia was an absolute godsend. She's incredibly dependable, professional and kind. And it's a bonus that she's a vet tech. I had never left my dog with a stranger before, so I was nervous about leaving her for a weekend. But Sofia was so communicative and responsive that my anxiety quickly vanished. I will 100% user her again.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
