“Penny spent a week with Lindsey and her pack and she seemed to be very happy and content with her stay. Lindsey provided updates every morning and evening, letting me know that Penny had eaten her food and what she had done for the day. She also included pictures in which I could tell Penny was having fun. During her visit it was July 4 and Penny is extremely scared of fireworks. Lindsey made a safe space for Penny and checked on her consistently. I feel that Penny was in good hands with Lindsey and her family. I would not hesitate to leave Penny with Lindsay again!”

“My dogs were very happy and the family did a great job sitting and caring for my 2 dogs; nice fenced back yard for them to play, plenty of playtime inside too. I'd highly recommend Terwrin !!”

“Michael was friendly and I could tell he really loves dogs. He took great care of my dog while I was away and sent daily text/photo updates to put me at ease that all was well. I will use him for dog boarding again in the future.”

“Ellie really enjoyed staying with Ivania and her dog, Lex. She went the extra mile to make sure Ellie was well taken care of and was very accommodating during the booking process. If you're looking for a great dog sitter, look no further!”

About: I am an animal lover looking to make a little extra income while working 5 day a week job as well. I have had dogs and cats all my life, so I am experienced. I also have 2 kids, for boarding, pups would need to well experienced with kids as well as other dogs! We have a fenced in yard and the dogs can be separated. I can watch the fur babies on weekends or nights of the week as well, if needed. I do some grooming as well, so bath and groom can be added. Owners can specify anything else needed. I work 8-5 currently 5 days a week so it would be after work time mostly 5-7 or local in my lunch break 11 or 1 . Fenced in yard they go out to play 2-3 times a day and get fed before bed. They are placed in kennels to eat as well as sleep.
“Our puppy has a wonderful time! We got the cutest photo and video updates each day. She had a blast playing with the other dogs as well. We didn’t worry one bit the whole time we were on vacation. The process was very easy and convenient.”

“My first time leaving my dog with anyone. I can hands down say they are the nicest people I’ve ever met. They truly love and enjoy dogs. Treated my flash like their own and sent tons of photos of his time there! Huge fenced in back yard and plenty of love while they are watching your fur babies! Thankful to of found them!”

“If I could leave a 10 star review, I would. She went above and beyond. She's amazing with dogs. You can rest assured that your dog is in a loving and happy environment. It's like your dog will be on vacation while you are. 10/10 will be using her next time we need a sitter.”

“My golden Clark stayed with Susan for 9 days while we went on a trip. Susan sent pictures and we were able to fully enjoy our time away because we knew Clark was in good hands. Due to recent medical issues, Clark has required medications daily and Susan was very receptive and helpful in making sure he didn’t miss a dose. Will definitely rebook for our next trip!”

“Lauri is very sweet, professional and just makes you and your dog feel comfortable and at home. I never for a minute hesitated to leave Bentley with her after meeting and visiting her. About: I have stayed in homes for several days caring for three dogs, ensuring they received attention, exercise, and routine care. I’ve also provided traditional pet sitting services, checking in on dogs, feeding them, and taking them for walks. I am extremely detail-oriented and committed to following all instructions exactly as given to ensure pets remain comfortable, safe, and happy whether they are in their home environment or mine. I am a college student home for the summer and I am working a part time job 20 hours per week at Lake Forest Racquet Club. Whether caring for pets in my home or a client’s, I prioritize safety, structure, and stimulation. In a client’s home, I strictly follow all instructions and respect their space while maintaining a calm and clean environment for the pet. In my own home, I ensure pets receive plenty of attention, mental stimulation, and physical activity through regular walks and playtime. I truly strive to create a comfortable setting where pets feel secure and cared for at all times!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
