“The absolute best! We have hired Christina multiple times and wouldn’t choose anyone else ❤️ She is amazing with our pets, including our older lab who has accidents and trouble getting around.”
“Sarah was wonderful with our high-anxiety dogs, sending us photos and updates with each visit. It was great to know our pups were in such good hands! We would definitely hire her again! 🐾”

“We are very grateful to have Alexandra care for our dogs each week! They love her and are so happy to see her when she visits! Thank you for taking such great care of them!”

“Emily was amazing with my 2 elder chihuahuas. I was so worried they would not do well because they are very picky with people in general. She spent time with them and made sure they ate. I was on a cruise for a week and she kept me updated everyday with pictures. I know they were comfortable with her because they actually let her love on them & she sent me videos of them playing. I would 100% book Emily again!”

About: I have taken care of dogs for the last 8 years! I love to take them on walks and my favorite thing is to teach them new tricks! I am working full time Monday through Friday but I get off at 3:30 everyday so I have more than enough time to take you pet of a late afternoon walk! I am unable to watch pets in my home as I live in an apartment and my dog is a rescue who has some trouble getting along with other pets than my own
About: I have owned a variety of pets throughout my life. I have also fostered 10 dogs of all ages and helped find them forever homes. This past year, I worked as an animal placement specialist at my local shelter and placed hundreds of dogs and cats into their forever homes. I have worked with a wide variety of dog breeds and I am knowledgeable with dog behavior. I also volunteered at a wildlife rehabilitation center. I am currently a full-time, pre-nursing student at Auburn. I am home for the summer and have a very open schedule. I work most days but am available morning and nights. I able to travel to your home to care for your pets there. I have experience with giving meds. I am able to provide care as close to their regular routine as possible.
About: I’ve loved caring for animals for as long as I can remember and have been helping with pets since middle school. Growing up, I also gained hands-on experience working as a stable hand, which taught me the importance of responsibility, patience, and paying close attention to each animal’s needs. While living in the Birmingham area for college, I provided dependable pet care and house-sitting for families, including caring for both dogs and cats during longer stays. Now that I’m back home on the Eastern Shore, I’m excited to continue offering pet care locally and would love the opportunity to care for your pets, too! I have a calm, gentle presence and do my best to help pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. I’m dependable, detail-oriented, and thoughtful about following each pet’s normal routine, preferences, and care instructions. I currently work a remote part-time job, which gives me a very flexible schedule. I’m available for drop-in visits, walks, and overnight stays, including extended house-sitting. Because of this flexibility, I’m able to give your pets consistent attention and make their care a priority. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I want both the pets and their owners to feel completely comfortable. I take time to learn each pet’s personality, routine, favorite activities, and any special needs so I can keep things as familiar and low-stress as possible. I also treat each home with respect by keeping things clean and tidy, following instructions carefully, and making sure everything is safely locked up before I leave. “Becca has watched our boys twice now and we have more visits with her planned soon. She is very thorough and it’s evident that she cares about making us and our two dogs as comfortable and happy as possible! She has been super kind to both us and our dogs and happily followed all instructions we left for caring for our elderly dogs while we’re away. She always sends lots of pictures and an update after every visit so we can relax knowing that they are doing good while we’re away.”

I have over 10 years of pet care experience, including professional pet sitting, working in luxury dog boarding, and managing a pet specialty store. Whether your pet is energetic, shy, senior, or needs a little extra attention, I’ll treat them like they’re my own. I’ve cared for dogs of all sizes and personalities—from tiny puppies to giant breeds—and I have experience with high-energy working dogs, senior pets, and administering basic medications when needed. Safety, reliability, and communication are my top priorities, so you can enjoy your time away knowing your pets are in great hands. During every visit, I’ll provide plenty of love, playtime, fresh water, meals, potty breaks, and lots of attention. I’ll also send frequent photo and video updates so you never have to wonder how your furry family member is doing. I know every pet has their own routine, and I’m happy to follow yours to help them feel comfortable and stress-free while you’re away. I can’t wait to meet you and your pets! I work a full-time Monday through Friday schedule, but I’m available to provide pet care during my lunch break, in the evenings after work, and throughout the weekends. I understand how important it is for pets to maintain their normal routine, so I make every effort to provide dependable, timely care that fits their needs. Whether your pet needs a midday potty break, an evening walk, drop-in visits, overnight care, or weekend companionship, you can count on me to provide attentive, reliable care and keep you updated with photos and messages while you’re away. At this time, I do not provide boarding services in my own home out of respect for my own dogs and to ensure they can maintain their normal routine. However, I am more than happy to care for your pets in the comfort of your home, where they can stay in a familiar environment and experience less stress while you’re away. When staying in your home or providing drop-in visits, I follow your pet’s routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medications, potty breaks, and plenty of love and attention. I treat every home with the utmost respect, keep everything clean and secure, and provide regular photo and video updates so you can have peace of mind knowing your pets are safe, happy, and well cared for.

Jennifer was great with our dog while we were out of town. Such great details every visit and I felt at ease knowing our dog was being loved. She went the extra mile as well picking up a mess he made chewing up a toy. Would absolutely recommend her to anyone needing care for their furry family.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
