“Kristine is awesome!!! She housesat my girls for a week this time and after a great first experience with her, I was completely at ease knowing that my dogs were being cared for, loved and entertained while I was away. He husband bonded with our girls the first time as well and they were very happy to see him when he returned for this visit! I am so very happy with the care my dogs received from Kristine and Mark! I can always see joy in the dogs when she sends pics!”

“Jana is fantastic! She did a great job taking care of our pups! She was in constant communication with us, and she would send pictures and updates daily. I will definitely book her again! Thanks, Jana l!”

“Michelle has been our preferred dog sitter for a few years now! On our most recent trip, our dog (who is diabetic) decided to not eat for 24 hours. Michelle went above and beyond by buying wet food, boiling chicken, and giving us frequent updates to ease our stress as much as possible. She cares for our pup like he is her own and we couldn’t thank her enough!”

“Thank you Patty for taking such good care of our two dogs while we were on vacation for the week! Patty is very responsive, kept our house clean and gave our boys lots of love throughout the week. We will definitely be booking with her again!”

“I highly recommend Shannon! :) We were desperately looking for someone who had availability for the holidays to watch our dog, especially since we were going across the country to visit family and we wanted to make sure our boy was going to be in the hands of someone we can trust while we were away for two weeks, and I am so glad I found Shannon! She first came for a meet and greet and asked all the right questions to make sure she can provide the best care possible, which made me feel even better about having her stay with him. She watched him for two weeks and kept me up to date on their daily activities and sent me the cutest pictures of my boy - where he was clearly very happy being in her presence! She went above and beyond for our family, kept our house clean, she also did tasks that she didn’t have to but was out of the kindness of her heart and our family so greatly appreciates her for - and most of all, she kept our boy so happy and gave him all the love while we were away!! I will definitely be booking her again in the future!”

“Bo did a great job with my two dogs and a turtle when I had to go out of town for a few days. She treats them like they are her own pets. She is very kind. She left my house as clean or cleaner than when I left. She is great at communicating and giving updates. I will definitely be using her again!”
About: I’ve never *not* had an animal in my care. My best friends growing up were a German Shepherd and a Golden Retriever. Since then I’ve had friends of all shapes and sizes, from the smallest teacup sized cats to dogs that weighed more than I did. My whole life has inspired me to pursue a Veterinary Medicine degree, so my knowledge concerning pets has grown exponentially the last few years. I know pets are a vital part of the family, and I can assure you I’ll take care of them like I would my own. My day to day changes often! I’m currently a part time student and a part time employee, but both of my schedules allow lots of flexibility! In my clients homes I want to meet whatever expectations you might have of me. I would never want my clients to feel unsatisfied or disrupt the routines of your pets. In my own home we like to spend a lot of time outside. Whether it’s going on walks or out and about in town, lots of time is spent in the sun. We have a local dog park nearby and I am an avid user of SniffSpot. That’s not your pets vibe? Thats totally cool with me! We can spend our days cuddling on the couch and binging a new TV show.
About: I’ve been taking care of dogs ever since I got my puppy at 14 years old. Aside from that, I have taken care of family members animals for weeks at a time! I love animals (dogs especially) and love going on walks with them and playing inside/outside! I will take amazing care of any dog no matter the size or age. I don’t currently work full time so I would be very flexible and easy to communicate with! Working with your schedule specifically would be very easy for me! I don’t have the amenities to care for a dog overnight at my house because I have a small yard. But I would love to care for them at your house, or just go on walks!
“Loarann was amazing!! This was my first time using in-home boarding so I was nervous but she was so sweet and so communicative. I never once had to worry or wonder what was going on which is huge for when you go on a trip that’s stressful enough! I honestly think she left the place better than she found it and was so kind about my house being kind of a sight these days because of renovations. She seems to truly love animals and I will 100% use her again in the future, no question.”
“Kayla exceeded all of my expectations! She was so thoughtful, kind, and very communicative. She sent me pictures and updates throughout the weekend and followed all of my instructions. After having a terrible experience with another sitter, Kayla restored my faith in good and honest sitters! Highly recommend her and she is our go-to from now on… She even left a sweet thank you note before I came home. So sweet and my pup loved her!! Thank you, Kayla!!!”

About: I have had experience pet sitting for 7 years, mostly with dogs and cats who get very anxious without their owners home and get separation anxiety. Those babies need a little extra love! I'm currently working part-time and work remotely, so I have plenty of time during the week for drop-ins or full time visits! Book as much time as you need. I pay a lot of attention to details, so if you have a long list of instructions and directions then we will be a perfect fit! I believe every pet + owner relationship is unique, and I don't want to walk in assuming I know yours. Tell me all about your pet and their likes and dislikes. They will feel more comfortable with me around if I understand them a little better.
About: What sets me apart from other sitters is I go above and beyond, always. Anything you need I am here for it. From medications, to multiple visitations, and lots of pictures and videos everyday! I don’t have children so my animals mean all of the world to me, as does every animal I meet. Especially yours. I know it’s hard to leave them, but I assure you I’ll make it easy. You can depend on me! This is all I do, so I am very open to your dates and needs for that time. Pet sitting is my priority always! I do send pictures and videos, also location check ins from me to ensure I am there and your ability to relax and enjoy your time away is at a 10! I am here for exactly what you and your pet need, my dogs have their own routine as well as bedrooms. I understand specific needs, and can fit myself into whatever routine you prefer.
About: I am an active 56 year old woman who has owned both cats and dogs over the years among other types of animals. Just ask! I don’t have any animals at the moment because of where I live but do have lots of neighbors with animals. I also have relatives with animals that have meant a lot to me. The animals in my area are friendly and there is space inside to lay or play and outside for them to walk. I will watch in my place or yours. But prefer yours as animals are always more behaved at home and it makes them feel happy to be in their own space. My son is grown and gone and we have loved and had many animals that have either passed. I believe animals can bring a smile to anyone’s face. I love them as my own and all animals tend to like me. I give regular updates and pics and very communicative to make you feel better about leaving your baby with a stranger. I am working full time doing door dash at the time and have some time on my hands, can take off when needed. I would love to share some of my time with an amazing dog or cat. Or even a few of them. I thank you for your time and hope to be meeting you soon! Feel free to ask me anything. I currently work a few days a week delivering for door dash. I have plenty of time to take pets outside when needed for a walk or give plenty of attention when needed. I prefer will watch in your home. I live in apt complex that has plenty of room to roam. 3/2 and it’s only me that lives here now. I have had roommates that had dogs previously but none right now and don’t plan to change that. They can lounge on couches or run around the apt as there is nothing breakable.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Perdido Key walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Perdido Key maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Perdido Key choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
