“Valerie watched our two pups in our house for about 10 days. She did an amazing job caring for them, walking them regularly, giving us lots of updates and photos, and even keeping our house clean and running well while we were gone. She is a responsive and responsible adult, which put us at ease while we were away. Importantly, she is excellent with dogs and made both of our very different dogs feel relaxed and loved! I give her a 10/10 and will not hesitate to rely on her again to watch our dogs in the future.”

“We have two dogs and Joanne took great care of them. Banksy goes to boot camp in two weeks and isn’t the easiest. She stayed with them and made them feel comfortable while communicating with us consistently.”

“Debbie was AWESOME! She kept us updated each day on how our babies were doing and sent us pics of them. She played with them and gave them tons of special attention. I highly recommend Debbie to look after your pets. Thanks Debbie!”
“Thank you Patty for taking such good care of our two dogs while we were on vacation for the week! Patty is very responsive, kept our house clean and gave our boys lots of love throughout the week. We will definitely be booking with her again!”

“Excellent! This was our first time using her as we are newer to the area, and we are very picky on who stays not only in our house, but who also takes care of our fur children. She followed all of the directions perfectly with feeding schedules, bathroom instructions, playing times, and left the house spotless! She sent us updates and pictures every day - our cat even came out for her and he never comes out for anybody! Highly recommend!!! We even rebooked her for later in the year :) THANK YOU!!”

“Gina was great to work with and did an awesome job. Our two for babies loved her. She is must-have if you bring your babies with you to the beach and need someone to take care of them very well. Thank you Gina.”

“Sarah was great! She was on time and responds quickly. She communicated well and kept us up to date with how our pups were doing. Came home to a spotless home. We will book Sarah again! Thanks for everything.”

“Jana is fantastic! She did a great job taking care of our pups! She was in constant communication with us, and she would send pictures and updates daily. I will definitely book her again! Thanks, Jana l!”

“Bo did a great job with my two dogs and a turtle when I had to go out of town for a few days. She treats them like they are her own pets. She is very kind. She left my house as clean or cleaner than when I left. She is great at communicating and giving updates. I will definitely be using her again!”
“This was the first time we used Kathleen. She did a great job. It gave us peace of mind while we were visiting our son and daughter. To be at the birth of our first grandson. Thank you, Kathleen.”

About: Hi friends! Thanks for taking the time to read my bio. I'm here because I would LOVE to get some steps in with your fur baby! Or just chill and give them back scratches if thats their preference. I love all dogs, no matter their age or breed. Volunteering at shelters has been a hobby of mine since childhood. Ive been a dog walker for Wag! for years but am switching to Rover because the Wag app is terribly glitchy. My most recent adventure has been fostering shelter pups - we currently had a foster fail situation which is how I got my current fur child, Indie. I've always adopted shelter dogs; to include labs, pitbulls, mixed breeds, and now a goldendoodle! I joined Rover in hopes of doing it more because I enjoy helping busy people take care of their precious pups. I'm a FOND believer of spoiling your pets. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about my knowledge or experience. :) I'm currently in between jobs and have LOTS of time to love on your precious fur baby. Let's schedule some time together and make some memories! I'm in a 2 bedroom apartment with a friendly goldendoodle to keep your pup company. Our days consist of many walks, and going to the dog park. We have one in the complex but I also enjoy going to the city parks. I am happy to let your baby sleep in the bed with me or I can crate them. Whatever your preference is, let's talk about it.
About: Hi!! I have had animals my WHOLE life, grew up on a farm so I’ve always been around animals. I have a cat that’s declawed and two kiddos in my home that love meeting new friends. I work from home and would love to help others by dog sitting and/or walking. I’m able to take the dogs out first thing in the morning, lunch time, and 2x in the evenings. I do have a fenced yard for the zoomies and a neighborhood with a sidewalk for walks. I look forward to getting to know your family pets and working together :) I take bookings only when I know I will have plenty of time during your pets stay to be sure they’re being walked and supervised while running around the yard. I have a fenced in yard for letting your pets outside and a crate, if your pet is crate trained. I am happy to follow any special instructions that you may have for your pets.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Orange Beach walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Orange Beach maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Orange Beach choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Orange Beach. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
