About: I have grown up around many animals rats, chickens, turkeys, pigs, horses, goats, and of course dogs and cats. I have volunteered at my local shelter for the last 5 years primarily focusing on animal socialization for dumped and rescued cats and dogs. I am a college student with hours that coincide with this type of work, as well as I am not in a housing situation where I can have a pet so caring for your pet won't feel like a job more so a privilege. Unfortunately, I can not house your pets and will only be able to do in-house care but I can transport them for fun outdoor adventures to release energy and stimulate their brains.
“Angelika was absolutely wonderful while caring for my dog, Brie, and my home for five days. She is incredibly loving, responsible, and professional, and it was clear from the start that Brie was in the best hands. Throughout her stay, Angelika took exceptional care of Brie, giving her plenty of love and attention. I returned home to a happy dog, one who even looked for Angelika ! She also took amazing care of my home. We live close to the beach, and she even vacuumed before I returned, leaving everything spotless and beautifully cared for. That level of thoughtfulness and attention to detail went above and beyond my expectations. I highly recommend Angelika to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and dependable pet sitter. She truly treats both your pets and your home with the utmost respect and care. I'll feel so confident to have her again”

“Akane was very kind and accommodating! She came over for a meet and greet and we appreciated how she was able to be flexible when our travel dates changed. Our dog was happy and well cared for while we were away for one night, and Akane sent plenty of updates including photos. I definitely recommend Akane and would use her services again!”

“Kelly is great! She watched my mini poodle on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. My dog automatically felt comfortable with her. Kelly was on time and flexible with my schedule. I will be booking her again in the future.”

“Samantha was fantastic as a sitter. This was the first time I had had anyone other than family care for my dog, so I was quite nervous. She put me right at ease, was willing to meet ahead of time, and even suggested a second visit right before I left to me sure my pup remembered her. Samantha did a great job keeping me up to date on how my dog was doing, sending photos and messages regularly. She left my house spotless as well. My neighbors also had a chance to meet her and were impressed with her. I came home to a happy pup! Thank you Samantha!”

About: I walked my rough collie for the 7 years we had him, and I've taken my friends' dogs on many walks. I took care of my dog as he got older and have immense patience with senior dogs. I'm familiar with different animals' body language and how pets communicate, allowing me to understand what your pet is asking for. I work part-time and have plenty of free time to take care of your pets. I have reliable transportation and am happy to drive wherever is necessary. Dogwalking was the first thing I did in the morning and is my favorite way to start the day. In your home, I'm happy to care for your pet's feeding, litter boxes, playful interests, and any other specific needs your pet would like attended to.
“Isabella was so great with Alfie! She communicated well, kept me updated with photos, and most importantly Alfie loves her. He’s recently rescued and has some quirks and she kept me updated on his progress and any issues he had. She stayed with him at my apartment for about a week and when I came back the apartment was cleaner than I left it. I cannot recommend her highly enough!”
“David is easygoing and helpful. He cared for our rescue pup who developed a double ear infection and needed some extra attention and medication. David handled it all and left our house clean. We give two paws up!”

“Rose did a fantastic job taking care of our dog and our house while we went away on a weeks vacation. She was very thoughtful and sent pictures of our dog and took good care of him knowing he would have anxiety while we were gone. The house was super clean and taken care of when we returned. I would highly recommend her. I can’t say enough good things about her.”

“Marley took great care of Lola while we were out of town for two full weeks, and it was during a heat wave! Marley is very adept at handling dogs with anxiety and reactivity, so it gave us great peace of mind that Lola was in her care. We look forward to having Marley house and dog-sit again!”

“Lauren was great with my dogs. Spent a lot of time with them and was good about sending updates and pictures to put me at ease that they were being taken care of. She was also good about leaving my house as I had left it. Would recommend!”

Alderney was amazing! I had an emergency and she was able to come at the last minute and help me out. I felt so safe with her watching Stitch and my home. She is very bright and personable, understood and followed instructions and kept in good contact. I would definitely book her again and highly recommend her.

Hannah was an amazing sitter for our Rusty! She had great communication from the very beginning and kept us updated throughout our entire trip with pictures, videos, and messages, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. She even took Rusty to the beach, which was such a thoughtful extra that she absolutely didn't have to do. It was clear that she genuinely cared about making sure he was happy, active, and well loved. We came home to a happy pup, and we couldn't be more grateful. We'll definitely be booking Hannah again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable dog sitter!

Deanna was so great, and house sat for us while watching our cat, Jesse! Our cat is very social, so it's super helpful to have someone be able to stay over while we were gone. Jesse loved Deanna, and was very warm and cuddly with them. Deanna sent us photos and video updates, and also took Jesse on daily walks (our cat has a harness and leash, and loves to be outside!). We will definitely be booking Deanna again, and I know Jesse will be very happy when Deanna returns as well! Deanna also left our home extremely clean, and even put our sheets in the laundry for us and ran the dishwasher on the last day. We definitely recomend hiring Deanna!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Pasatiempo walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Pasatiempo maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Pasatiempo choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
