“Julia is absolutely wonderful. She's my first pick for re-booking! She housesat / petsat for my dog and two cats for two weeks when I was traveling. The pets are very attached to me and not happy when I leave, but they immediately took to Julia, and she sent me lots of pictures of them cuddling with her. I hate to travel because it means feeling uncertain about leaving the pets, but with Julia, I felt totally confident that they were in great hands, and I could just relax and enjoy the trip. She's very smart so I felt like if something came up, she'd make good decisions. In fact, one of the cats threw up his food and she immediately messaged me *with a photo* so I could assess the situation. I could not have been any happier with her services!”

About: I have been around and loved dogs all my life. For as long as I can remember I’ve been the first to help out walking and taking care of dogs and when I was 7 I got my first dog that became my most prized possession. More recently I have increased my amount of dog care, including adopting 2 rescue dogs in the last 3 years. They have been quite the project as they both came from traumatized pasts and needed a lot of redirection and love. This past year I have also been volunteering at least once a week at the Santa Cruz SPCA, working with dogs of all temperament. I am a student, so when I’m not at school I’m always with dogs. I love to spend as much time as I can in nature and always take my own dogs with me, and make sure they get several walks a day. At home I have several dog beds and monitor them throughout the day. I have dog beds as well as crates if needed. The house is pretty dog proof with nothing easily accessible for them to get into, and a dog gate leading to the upstairs which is where bedrooms are. I also have a large fenced in yard with bark for the dogs to run around in and lots of toys to play with.

“Sofia was quick to respond to my initial request. She came to meet me and my dog and was very friendly. My dog is a bit anxious with strangers at first and she was following my instructions 100%, which allowed him to trust her quickly and in no time they were best friends! She stayed with my dog overnight at my house. She was communicating with me on my dogs schedule and was very respectful of my space. I totally recommend her and will use her services again. “Molly was great! She was available at the last minute, was super accommodating of our schedule, and did a great job caring for our home and our skittish little dog. She sent regular updates, including pictures when our camera-shy dog would let her snap some. She handled it well when our little guy dug his way out of the yard and was found wandering the neighborhood. She got him to eat and go for a walk (stuff he tends not to do when we're gone) and he clearly liked her. When we got home, the house was tidy and clean and the dog was happy and relaxed. We would happily use Molly again.”

About: Grew up in Santa Cruz and love the neighborly vibe! I’ve had pets my whole life yet now travel and would love caring for yours! With my flexible work schedule I can work from anywhere, therefore, my ability to take on last minute jobs. I’m an early riser and enjoyed taking walks and hikes. I enjoy watching pets in their own home, so that they are in their comfort zone and keep their routine. Over time, getting to know how they like to live life on the inside and the outside of their environment.

“Nayezca is an EXCEPTIONAL dog/cat (and other animals) walker/sitter. She has a way with animals that feels almost magical - animals are drawn to her and she understands them in ways that is rare. I know this sounds super cheesy but it's true! She loves animals and finds great joy in spending time with them and caring for them. She is loving and will snuggle your animal for sure but also knows how to set and maintain boundaries and rules. We've had Nayezca take care of our dog a bunch of times over the years and it has always been amazing. Our only concern is that we are worried our dog starts to love Nayezca more than us. Your pet will be in great hands with Nayezca!”
