About: Experienced dog owner and sitter. Studied dog psychology to become a good dog parent. Had two female spaniels who passed earlier this year. We used to compete in dog frisbee and hunt. Also have experience working in a grooming salon, as well as walking and boarding various size dogs - from labs and German shepherds to Jack Russel terriers and mini Aussies. Additionally at no cost I can provide basic behavioural training and teach new tricks - I love to communicate with dogs of any breed and move in one rhythm with them. And I really feel their needs and able to connect with dogs of all ages. I can board puppies and older dogs, take them for a walk someplace new and play ball or frisbee. But safety and well-being is my main focus and if your dog doesn't want too much activity, I can provide a more mellow experience, too. Available on weekdays and weekends but please make appointments at least 2 days in advance. I would love to meet your furry friend! I'm working remotely from home part-time, so have lots of time to spend with doggies. I'm available both weekends and weekdays and rarely leave home for more than a couple hours, so your dog won't be alone for too long. I have a fenced backyard and deck, and two mellow spaniels to keep your doggo company. I also have a crate where your pet can rest if needed.

“Daisy had one previous day-long stay with Shannon about one year ago and our schedules finally lined up for us to be able to leave Daisy over night. As with our first stay, we couldn't ask for more! Shannon and her family took such excellent care of Daisy, understanding of and worked around our dog's quirks - a little anxious, esp around other dogs for one thing - gave Daisy lots of attention, careful & thoughtful of her, and took her on two walks in 24 hrs. I don't know if Daisy remembered them from last year, but she was smiling from ear to ear within 30 seconds of being in Shannon's & Chris's home and that's how she was when we picked her up!! Shannon sent timely updates with pictures and is so easy to communicate with. We would be lucky to have Daisy stay with Shannon and her family again! “Michael and wife Patti gook wonderful care of Gigi for a week. Without hesitation, I booked them for a return visit. Their house and yard is ideal-- fully-fenced front and rear, no restrictions on furniture, and a dog door (their own little dog recently passed away, sadly.) They even invited Gigi to sleep on their bed. Patti took Gigi on a couple of walks to the beach and gave lots of tummy rubs. It was clear from Gigi bouncing around their house when I returned to pick her up that she absolutely enjoyed her doggy vacation!”

About: Hi everyone! I’m just starting out on Rover but I’ve been a dog lover since day one. I have experience with dogs both big and small, in urban landscapes and suburban. I am attuned to their varying levels of energy, motivations, and comforts, all of which lets me form a quick bond with them! I’m a full time student at the UC, and work a part time job. Unfortunately, our hours at work were cut so until September, my schedule is relatively light! College dorms and apartments dont exactly have an abundance of dogs so I’ve been lacking in animal love. I hope to get my fill on Rover! My dogs have always been a part of the family, so that’s how I treat them! On my dog walks, I like to let them sniff all they want (but no eating!), I have no problem jogging if they’ve got some zoomies, and above all, I just want them to feel satisfied and ready to rest when they return home. I respect dogs as much as I respect people!
About: My first dogs were a Boerboel and a Great Dane. Since my husband is allergic, we now focus on non-shedding dogs. and were blessed to spend 2 wonderful years with our furbaby Thando. Thando was a poodle mix and suffered from MegaE and a number of other issues that led to him spending the last 6 months of his life with a feeding tube. While caring for a special needs dog was new for us, it has been the biggest blessing in our lives. We learned to enjoy each moment - running on the beach, tube-feeding at a winery, holding our furbaby up for long periods of time against regurgitation. After Mr T’s passing, we adopted a new furbaby into our family, Fritz. He is also a poodle and potentially Maltese mix who loves all dogs and people. About 8 months later, we adopted a sister for Fritz, Cleo. Cleo was already four years old when we adopted her but she is very playful and loves to wrestle with Fritz- even though she is three times his size. They are crazy about each other and have become inseparable. We love all sizes and ages of dogs, and would be happy to take your dog running or just chilling on the couch with us. We have a small fenced yard with a sandbox that we specially built for a home-based "dog beach", we are familiar with dog-friendly hikes, parks, restaurants and beaches in the area, and we would make your dog a part of our family for their stay. We'd love to meet you and your furbaby. I am home full-time with our two dogs (9 & 11 years) and two kids when they are not in school. We go for walks in the neighborhood or on the beach. I only look after dogs in my home and we only take non-shedding dogs. They become part of our family of two adults, two kids and two dogs.
“Celeste is wonderful. We had met and already agreed to a three night pet sit later in the month, and some weekend walks with Duchess so they could get better acquainted before the overnights. Then I sprained my ankle and my wife's lower back went out. Celeste on very short notice stepped up by taking Duchess for unscheduled neighborhood walks so we could rest and recover. Two walks in now and Celeste and Duchess have clearly bonded. Duchess is a totally happy love bucket who thinks every person is her friend, but she responds best to people who are naturally relaxed and comfortable around pups while being the loving person in charge. Celeste checks all those boxes. We are very happy that we have more walks and a pet sit scheduled with Celeste.”
About: I have owned big dogs my whole life. Two labs, a retriever and a Catahoula mix. I have never know my life without a dog in it. Since I was little I would help take care of the dogs. From them being puppies to elderly dogs. I have watched my own dogs as well as others. I have also an accompanied a mobile dog groomer during her work. I helped wash the dogs as well as keep them calm and happy while she worked. I definitely learned A LOT about cleaning up after puppies while working with her. I am currently home for the summer from college and I do not have any other jobs so I have a lot of free time. I available all week except for when I will be out of town. I understand that every dog has different needs. I am fully flexible and willing to work with your dog in whatever way they need. For example, I have helped my dog through her fear of fireworks by wrapping her in a blanket and holding her (a little peanut butter helped too). Or if your dog needs a lot of exercise to stay calm and happy I will run around for hours. I am adaptable to the dog and I can help in whatever way is needed!

About: I have been a dog lover since I got my first dog, Kiwi the puggle, about 20 years ago. While I can't have a dog at my current place, I love to hang out with my friends dogs and dog walk/sit when I can. About: I’ve had dogs in my life for 30 years. I’ve been dog sitting for friends and family for over 20 years. My own dogs have graduated top of their class in puppy training school. I currently work from home, so I can arrange my schedule to make sure dogs in my care get all the love, affection, and attention they need and deserve. I have a small fenced in yard, good for small and medium dogs. My dog is friendly and even shares some toys. I can crate your dog if preferred. I am also within walking distance to a dog park, and an easy drive to dog beaches

“Lauren took wonderful care of Millie over several days including the 4th of July! She was conscientious and asked great questions about her needs both during the pre stay walk/meet and greet, and before/during her stay. I heard from Lauren daily (per my request when she asked how frequent I wanted texts and pictures), and she took Millie on daily walks, the beach/river for swimming and fetch after sticks, and paid attention to how to get her settled and comfortable. Millie was very comfy there, had fun, and walked right back in when we arrived! What a blessing. Millie was worn out and calm when we came, too- such a relief as she is normally very high energy. Lauren also communicated her schedule realistically and was on time and efficient, giving us info needed to drop off and pick up, and accommodated us during her visitor staying there, which she told us ahead of time. Her close proximity to the beach/river was also a nice surprise.”
