“So grateful to have found Julia and Rue!! Mia had the best time. I got plenty of updates and felt at ease knowing she was in a safe and loving home! Will 100% be booking again!”

“Angie C is the best. She gave my Bailey the best experience for her first time away from home and me. Angie and her family gave her so much love that Bailey cried when it was time to leave. Angie sent me pictures everyday, even gave her a bath and took her for walks. I recommend her 100%.She was amazing!”

“Mo and her family were wonderful with my senior dog. He’s only stayed away from family members a few times and he refused to eat for her a couple days. She checked in with me to keep me informed and tried various options to encourage him to eat. He finally did but was still pouting about his family not taking him to a wedding. Mo provided a safe, loving environment, with children that also engaged in his play and care. He really enjoyed them and other furry friends. Their back yard provides a large space for everyone to explore and play safely. I really appreciated Mo’s extra efforts in feeding and providing photo updates to make me feel comfortable with his stay as well. Thanks to the entire Mo G family! We really appreciate you taking such good care of our little old man!!”

“Angela was amazing with Milo. She provides such comfortable accommodations for him and shared pictures which helped reassure us. This is our first ti boarding our cat and we couldn’t have been more pleased. We will definitely use Angela again. She’s a sweetheart and clearly loves animals.”

“Jessica and her girls were great to my Lucy and Otis. Jessica sent daily update photos twice a day, morning and evening. She was just the right amount of communicative and provided a great sense of safety while we were away on a trip for five days. Her doggy Rain seemed like a great companion to also get some needed socialization for our Lucy who just loves being around other younger pups. Overall, I would recommend Jessica and her girls to anyone needing a safe place to keep their pups in the KC metro area.”

“Victoria did an amazing job taking care of my dog Molly for a long term stay of 6 weeks! She sent me regular photos and updates which was much appreciated. Molly had a small rash from the outdoors and Victoria told me right away and was able to treat her and it resolved quickly. I will never worry leaving my dog with Victoria because I know that she is in great hands!”

“Karrie was super flexible with our schedule and took great care of Benny! She even took him for a walk when the weather was nice which is awesome. We would definitely book with her again!”

“Kasey did amazing with our Scuttle and all dogs that come in her care. She is truly a dog saint and treats them all like her own. She is so passionate about taking care of your pup and all the pups are soooo happy in return!”

“Michelle was fantastic! She sends lots of pictures and is very communicative. She also accommodated a last minute boarding request over a holiday weekend. Kobe had a great time at her place and will certainly be back!”

“Lauren was great with everything from special accommodations for our fur babies to meeting our needs as the pet owners. She kept us updated hourly/daily on how our puppies were doing and also sent pictures showing how much fun they were having. We highly recommend Lauren to anybody that is looking for a babysitter for their fur babies. While attending a graduation in Kansas seeing that our hotel is not pet friendly , we found her on Rover and that was the best decision we ever made. Thanks again so much Lauren and we appreciate you !”

“Claire was fantastic. She was great with Pearl and Pudge and was super accommodating on scheduling (including an extension of her visit at the last minute). I would definitely ask Claire to sit with the pups again. 10/10!”

“Colin and Tiffanee were so great! They took excellent care of my needy dog when a last minute trip came up. Clearly welcoming him into their home and sending me lots of pictures.”

“Our dogs stayed with Kristy and her family for a few days. She kept us updated and sent pictures each day. Our 4 month puppy old managed to get pretty dirty and Kristy ended up giving her a bath, which we could of done but she went ahead and did it, which was nice. We would use Kristy again. Thanks Kristy & family for entertaining our dogs!”

“Kathleen is simply AMAZING!! Our Elsie absolutely loves going to her house to stay. I am so comfortable leaving Elsie in her care. She takes a genuine interest in getting to know your dog and keeping with their routine. Her GSD's are very helpful in keeping your dog active and comfortable during their stay. She's the absolute best!!”

“We had an amazing experience with Nicole and her family. She was so responsive, flexible, and communicative through the whole process. She has an amazing back yard with plenty of room for the dogs to run around. We received updates and pictures throughout our dogs’ stay, and it was clear they were completely loved on by her and her family!”

“Had great experience with Jessie! She was super patient with both of our dogs, but especially with our dog who takes a minute to warm up to new dogs. She kept me updated all weekend with videos and pictures. Couldn't recommend enough!”

“Iryna was fantastic. Will use her again as often as she is available. Her communication was phenomenal, she treated Midas with so much love like one of her own pet. I really appreciate her, and feel so lucky to Have found her.”

“Dana was very responsive and very easy to deal with in setting up my booking for Rocco. She and her dog, Herbie, were very good hosts and it is obvious to me that Rocco really enjoyed his stay with Dana and family. I highly recommend them for boarding your dog!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Overland Park
This was our first experience with needing to leave Bailey, who is 14 years old, with anyone. We were extremely nervous, apprehensive and anxious about leaving her with anyone however after meeting with Tori and meeting her family, I knew I had made a right desicion. Tori was open to communication and I loved the pictures she sent me. I would definitely use her again.
Katy is beyond wonderful, she's our life saver and our guardian angel! She's very dependable, accommodated our needs with extended and emergency travels with last minute notice. She and her whole family are all great support and my dog is very well taken cared of. Thank you Katy!!!

Thank you so much for taking care of our boy George! I really appreciated the daily updates, and as soon as we met you when we dropped him off we could tell we were dealing with a pro. We can tell that he had a blast hanging out with all the doggies and little ones!

Wow wow! I am so happy I booked with Alyssa and her beautiful family. She knows dogs and helped my big dog through thunderstorms and my little dog’s general fear of people (rescue). She sent pics and updates all the time, which I appreciated. Excellent for boarding.

Julia was absolutely WONDERFUL! I got updates DAILY with pictures! My dog is very high anxiety and he doesn’t adjust well but he didn’t show any signs of stress and he even ate ALL of his food with her!! I will definitely be rebooking, she’s an absolute angel! Thank you Miss Julia ♥️♥️♥️

Telicia always takes great care of our dog, Joni. We know Joni is in good hands and we get occasional photos showing us what fun she's been up to. Telicia has watched Joni on multiple occasions and we are very happy to have a trusted sitter who we know Joni is comfortable with and will be happy to spend time with while we're away.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in KS ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
