“Dana was excellent! She understood the needs of our Labrador dog, and met them perfectly. Her house and yard were tidy. Her dog is friendly and a great playmate for our dog. All communication with Dana was clear, concise, and prompt, and we received updates and photos throughout his stay. We came back to a very happy pup and would gladly use Dana's services again.”

She was incredibly attentive to details in my dogs’ profiles and I was pleasantly surprised when she just started rattling off information about the meds they take and their different needs I had written out. My dogs were clearly happy and well cared for when I picked them up and we have already rebooked with her for next week!”

“Mary was awesome! I was nervous leaving my blind senior dog for an overnight trip as it’s not often she stays at someone else’s house. Mary reassured me that she’d take good care of her and kept me updated with how she did while I was gone. She has a lovely home and an incredible backyard making her a great choice for your pup!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Westwood
We are so grateful we found Savannah! She stepped in at the very last minute to take care of Sam, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. She was incredibly kind, patient, and caring, and immediately made us feel at ease. It was clear she genuinely loves animals and treated Sam like he was her own. Knowing he was in such good hands gave us so much peace of mind during a stressful situation. We would absolutely trust her with him again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a compassionate and reliable pet sitter. Thank you so much! ❤️🐾
Lauren & Kyle are amazing sitters. The attention, care and compassion, they showed my pup Addie during her recent stay is outstanding. We were on a week long vacation and had no worries whatsoever about being gone. Our pup needed some medication administered as well as she’s a picky eater and Lauren knows how to handle all situations. She is a great communicator with daily updates and pictures are wonderful! They are our go to sitters. Thank you for all your care and snuggles. Addie had a great time.

Katelynn was very good with communication. We appreciated that she was able to help with Buddy last minute. We don’t just leave him with anybody, we are happy we found a great sitter for his personality while visiting KC! We would book with her again if in the area .
We had a great experience with Ariel and Alex! They were accommodating, responsible, and easy to work with. They asked thoughtful questions about our pup’s routine and personality. Their dog, Ellie, welcomed Liesl right away, and they were enjoying each other’s company. They have a large, shaded, fenced, and well-maintained backyard. Ariel and Alex are genuine, down-to-earth people who clearly care about the dogs they watch. We’d happily have Liesl stay with them again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in KS ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
