“Tasha is an amazing pet sitter! Thank you so much for taking such good care of my pets! She was very helpful, caring and flexible with my schedule. She sent photos and updates daily. She was so kind that she even helped me get more cat food when I ran out. I will book with her again on my next trip. Thank you!”

“Evelyn was a fantastic dog sitter. She was easy to work with, provided daily photos of Milo, and it is such a great job with him. I will definitely rebook with Evelyn if I have the opportunity.”

“Kaiya did great and loved the extra attention and buddies to play with. I also really appreciated Kelly's flexibility with our schedule. Would happily book again!”

“Second time Louie has stayed with Michelle and Bradley. He loves being there, is well cared for and enjoys their dog, Joni. Michelle and Bradley are clear communicators and great representatives of Rover.”

“Dana was so fantastic! She watched our energetic pooch for two nights. And sent plenty of pics and updates of our energetic puppy having a blast in her yard and with her dog. During the meet and greet, she asked questions and graciously showed her home inside and out to see where our Boba would be spending her time. Our dog had a blast with her and we definitely will be hiring Dana again”

“Jessie was great! She treats your dogs like family and gives daily updates on how your pups are doing. It brings such comfort knowing your dogs are being taken care of and loved.”

“Jill and her family were fantastic watching our pup for the weekend. She provided frequent updates with pictures and quick responses. Jill has two dogs of her own that are wonderful and great with other dogs. I knew our dog Maggie was safe and very happy for the weekend.”

“Nate took great care of our pup and sent regular photos and videos for our peace of mind. She loved playing with his dog and the other he was sitting! Will trust him with Ayla anytime.”

“Derrika is the GREATEST! I am so happy I found her. She and her family are so nice and their love of animals is very apparent. I loved the pics she sent throughout the day. Within the first few hours of my Yogis first visit she sent me a pic of my doggo with his head in her sons lap. He only does this when he is EXTREMELY comfortable. Knowing Yogi is in excellent hands helps both his & my separation anxiety when we can’t be together. She is a true gem”

“Thank you Christine, for watching our two pups! Special thank you for the extra love you gave to Kylo while he was nervous from the thunder storm.”

“Becky took such great care of our two boys! She sent pictures and videos every day and loved them just like we do. So thankful to have a trusted sitter while we are out of town! We will definitely use again!”

“Jay recently watched my dog, Fergus, while my husband and I were out of town. I appreciated the time he took to talk to us about our Fergus before hand. He wanted to ensure he would be able to provide the best care. Which he did! He told us his plans for caretaking at drop off and gave us updates while we were gone. Our dog is nervous around strangers but Jay strived to make him feel at home.”

“Aaron was amazing! Rudy didn’t want to leave! Aaron helped me out in a pinch and I’m so thankful! He sent pictures of Rudy to me and kept me undated with him! Thank you so much! Definitely will be using his services again!”

“Katelynn was awesome! She was incredibly attentive to details in my dogs’ profiles and I was pleasantly surprised when she just started rattling off information about the meds they take and their different needs I had written out. My dogs were clearly happy and well cared for when I picked them up and we have already rebooked with her for next week!”

“Daline and Jeremie were very responsive and accommodating. They listened well to my recommendations about caring for my dog. I got many sweet photos of her during her stay. Would highly recommend and book again :) Appreciate all of your help!”

“Mary is awesome!! I have a high-anxiety pup and I was so relieved that he did well staying with Mary. She took him on walks and even a hike (his favorite thing!). I’m sure he will be excited to go back.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Roeland Park
Lauren & Kyle are amazing sitters. The attention, care and compassion, they showed my pup Addie during her recent stay is outstanding. We were on a week long vacation and had no worries whatsoever about being gone. Our pup needed some medication administered as well as she’s a picky eater and Lauren knows how to handle all situations. She is a great communicator with daily updates and pictures are wonderful! They are our go to sitters. Thank you for all your care and snuggles. Addie had a great time.

Katelynn was very good with communication. We appreciated that she was able to help with Buddy last minute. We don’t just leave him with anybody, we are happy we found a great sitter for his personality while visiting KC! We would book with her again if in the area .
We had a great experience with Ariel and Alex! They were accommodating, responsible, and easy to work with. They asked thoughtful questions about our pup’s routine and personality. Their dog, Ellie, welcomed Liesl right away, and they were enjoying each other’s company. They have a large, shaded, fenced, and well-maintained backyard. Ariel and Alex are genuine, down-to-earth people who clearly care about the dogs they watch. We’d happily have Liesl stay with them again.

Kylee took wonderful care of our Goldendoodle while we were away for 10 days in Italy. She kept in great contact, sending daily photos and videos. She spoiled our dog by taking him on 2 walks per day, more than he gets at home! She cared for him like he was her own. I’d highly recommend her!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in KS ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
