About: Hi! I'm Michelle, I've been dogsitting for friends and family since ~2016 and finally became a dog mom in 2020--it's the best! My husband, Brad, and I both love animals and are excited to join the Rover sitter community. We are comfortable with dogs of any age and any breed, and would care for your dog as if s/he were our own. We can administer medications as needed (we mostly have experience with oral and topical meds, but are willing to learn what's needed for your furry friend) and are very attentive to your dog's diet and feeding regime. We can't wait to welcome your dog into our home while you are away! Michelle works from home so your dog won't be on their own for long periods while staying at our home. We love taking our dog, Joni, on walks (& runs) everyday (we usually go several times each day) and we have a large fenced in yard for additional playtime, so your pup will get lots of outside time to burn off energy and sniff. Your dog will have full access to our home, just as our Joni does, with a variety of toys and bed options (including couches) available throughout the day. You'll get regular photo updates of your pup's adventures while you're away (unless otherwise requested). My husband and I have a large, fenced in backyard that's perfect for zoomies and playtime, and live in a quiet, safe neighborhood. Our 6 year old pup, Joni, is always looking for new friends and someone to share her toys with (she's up to date on her vaccinations and preventative meds and ask that your dog be as well). If your dog is crate trained, we'd be happy to find a space to set that up for them in our home during their stay, or they are welcome to use Joni's old crate which we can set up if needed. Additionally, feel free to bring any toys or bedding/blankets that help make your dog feel at home; we want him/her to have what they need to be comfy while you are away.
“Stephanie was so helpful and kind with our two dogs! This was a first time using Rover and Stephanie exceeded all needs and eased our worry. With a senior dog who needs extra care and a younger dog who has much more energy, she was able to accommodate both of our boys to keep them happy and safe!”

“Erin has been a very responsible caretaker. I give her very good ratings. Hopefully she can be a repeat sitter while I'm kennel training a new puppy. Erin did wonderful.”

“This was our first time using Rover and Kristin was fantastic with our two Frenchies! From the start, she was very fast to respond and I loved her experience. She came by for a meet and greet so our little rescue who can be nervous around new people would be comfortable. I got an update and pictures after each drop in so even while I was traveling, I had peace of mind they were okay. Highly recommend Kristin!”

“Jennifer was great! She came over once a day to feed the cat and clean the litter box. I got lots of updates and photos. It was nice to get messages from someone who enjoyed hanging out with my cat.”

“Kianne is an amazing pet sitter!! She was responsive, took lots of great pictures and was a great communicator. I was so anxious about leaving my cats, and she put all my nerves to ease. I will definitely be booking her again and I recommend that you do too!”

“Kylie is great! She was on time, took fantastic care of our dog, and left a detailed report card. No communication issues, and she took care of everything we asked for, with additional thought and care.”

“Mackenzie was so amazing! She stayed right on schedule and made sure to communicate with me each day and even helped me recognize that i incorrectly scheduled her assistance plan and got it all squared away for me. Will definitely be requesting her services again!”

“Valerie is amazing. Our dogs love her and she always sends the cutest photos. She plays fetch with our hyper dog and cuddles with our lazy dog. She will definitely be my go to when I need a sitter”

“Devin is extremely flexible and easy to work with. She’s been great for our Hunter and always provides us with a quick photo to ease our worries when we are not able to be at home with our sweet kitty.”
“Kylee was a WONDERFUL Rover sitter! She was on time based on our agreement every day, she treated my pup like her own, and sent the best pictures! I will definitely book her again! (Once Coronavirus allows me to get back to business as usual).”
“I have very pleased to have Michael care fore my seven year old cat for over four years. When I am away from home I am confident that my cat will be well cared for during those periods.”

“August was highly communicative and took great care of our cats! They were attentive and asked a lot of questions which I appreciated. I felt perfectly safe having them watch over our babies!”

“What a fantastic experience! Marissa looked over my two cats during our extended honeymoon stay. Marissa was so easy to work with and allowed us to add four additional days onto our honeymoon thanks to her flexibility and professionalism. I truly cannot give a high enough rating for the experience and piece of mind she provided.”

About: Hi! My name is Amanda. I’ve been a cat mama to 2 of my own fur babies for about 5 years now, but I have always grown up with cats and the sweetest little Yorkshire terrier dog. When I’m not home with my kitties, I’m in the classroom teaching my 2-5 year old babies! The skills I’ve learned through being special education early childhood teacher go hand-in-hand with being a good pet mama. Although cleaning up 💩 isn’t my favorite part of the job, it’s worth it to love on BOTH the fur babies and human babies. 🤣 You can trust that I will show the utmost patience, care, and love with your animals as though they are my own. And you can trust that you will receive many photos! 🥰 I am on summer break until August 6th, and have lots of availability during the week and weekends! My daily routine with my kitties includes feeding, letting them sun-bathe on the balcony, and vacuuming litter all day (LOL). I care for any and all fur babies as though they are my own. You can trust that they will be addressed with care, patience, and lots of cuddles and kisses.

Another successful stay with Kim. She always does a great job but I tipped her extra this time since she called out that my kitty hadn’t gone to the bathroom in 24 hours. Turns out kitty was being stubborn and anxious but I still appreciated her diligence in letting me know so I could have my emergency contact stop by and do a more thorough check..

Rachel is the best, hands down. My pets typically have some form of separation anxiety but they warmed up to her very quickly (which is a ringing endorsement in and of itself). My dog needed some medication while we were out of town and Rachel took care of it without any issues. She’s an absolute rockstar and I will be reaching out again when we travel next.

Amber is a very reliable, friendly and caring pet sitter! She took a fantastic care of our cat Elvis while we were away, followed all the instructions and our home was just in the same state as we left it. We appreciated daily updates and pictures and we will definitely book again when we go away! We highly recommend Amber!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Overland Park. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
