“Stephanie was so helpful and kind with our two dogs! This was a first time using Rover and Stephanie exceeded all needs and eased our worry. With a senior dog who needs extra care and a younger dog who has much more energy, she was able to accommodate both of our boys to keep them happy and safe!”

About: Hi! I'm Michelle, I've been dogsitting for friends and family since ~2016 and finally became a dog mom in 2020--it's the best! My husband, Brad, and I both love animals and are excited to join the Rover sitter community. We are comfortable with dogs of any age and any breed, and would care for your dog as if s/he were our own. We can administer medications as needed (we mostly have experience with oral and topical meds, but are willing to learn what's needed for your furry friend) and are very attentive to your dog's diet and feeding regime. We can't wait to welcome your dog into our home while you are away! Michelle works from home so your dog won't be on their own for long periods while staying at our home. We love taking our dog, Joni, on walks (& runs) everyday (we usually go several times each day) and we have a large fenced in yard for additional playtime, so your pup will get lots of outside time to burn off energy and sniff. Your dog will have full access to our home, just as our Joni does, with a variety of toys and bed options (including couches) available throughout the day. You'll get regular photo updates of your pup's adventures while you're away (unless otherwise requested). My husband and I have a large, fenced in backyard that's perfect for zoomies and playtime, and live in a quiet, safe neighborhood. Our 6 year old pup, Joni, is always looking for new friends and someone to share her toys with (she's up to date on her vaccinations and preventative meds and ask that your dog be as well). If your dog is crate trained, we'd be happy to find a space to set that up for them in our home during their stay, or they are welcome to use Joni's old crate which we can set up if needed. Additionally, feel free to bring any toys or bedding/blankets that help make your dog feel at home; we want him/her to have what they need to be comfy while you are away.
“Kaci-Thank you for taking care of our 2 kitties while we were gone! They seemed happy and content when we returned. We loved all the cute photos! Great communication from the start, meet and greet and making sure the "girls" were loved. We would hire again for sure!”

“Jennifer was great! She came over once a day to feed the cat and clean the litter box. I got lots of updates and photos. It was nice to get messages from someone who enjoyed hanging out with my cat.”
“We are newbies to Rover and Marler did not disappoint. Our kitty 'Dite is not much of a people kitty but Markee did a great job with taking care of 'Dite.'Marlee actually got'Dite to interact with her. So it's a paws up to Marlee!”

“Valerie was great with Decker while we were away on vacation. I appreciated her daily updates and pics. It was clear from the meet & greet that Decker liked Valerie and her pics confirmed he was more than comfortable with her and appreciated her belly rubs. Would definitely recommend Valerie!!”

“Amazing Cat Sitter! While my wife and I were away on vacation, Kianne took excellent care of our cat, Charlie. She went above and beyond to make sure he felt loved and entertained while we were gone. She played with him using laser toy, gave him plenty of pets and attention, and made sure he was well-fed and happy every day. We could tell Charlie was in great hands – he was relaxed and content when we got home, which says a lot! Kianne kept us updated and clearly cared about his well-being. We’re so grateful for her help and wouldn’t hesitate to ask her again. Highly recommend her to anyone needing a caring and reliable pet sitter!”

“Beth is very nice, punctual and caring. Beth did an amazing job checking on Lea (my cat) while I was out of town. She gave her medicine and then sat and played with her a bit after feeding her too. It was such a relief knowing someone was checking on her and taking care of her. I would definitely re-book with Beth!”

“August was outstanding. We booked ten drop-in visits over the holidays for our two cats, and everything was handled with care, consistency, and attention to detail. Feeding, litter box cleaning, playtime, and weight monitoring were all done perfectly. Communication was excellent, with detailed updates and plenty of photos after each visit. Even our request for an additional day of care was accommodated easily. August also went above and beyond by bringing in packages and offering thoughtful, practical suggestions to help reduce our cats’ stress while we were away. One of our cats sprays outside the litter box when stressed, and every incident was cleaned promptly without hesitation. Visits were consistently on schedule, which really helped our cats adjust. It was clear real time was spent getting to know our little guys, including remembering which toys each cat preferred and making sure both cats got their wet and dry food, even though one tends to bully the other at mealtime. We felt completely at ease knowing our cats were in such capable hands, and would not hesitate to book again or recommend August to anyone looking for a reliable, attentive sitter.”

“Kris did a great job with Chief. He was great at keeping me updated on visits and obliged to all of my requests. Would definitely recommend. Chief was a happy boy.”

“I have very pleased to have Michael care fore my seven year old cat for over four years. When I am away from home I am confident that my cat will be well cared for during those periods.”

“Marissa is fantastic!!! She took into great consideration of my cat’s boundaries while providing quality care when I am away. Will provide pictures and follows through with the schedule. Super sweet and handles last minute changes well. Highly recommended her services for anyone looking.”

“Devin took great care of our Hunter. Her pics let me know Hunter was doing well and her status reports to us helped me understand what happened at each visit. I will definitely use Devin again when we need someone to check in on our pets.”
“Faith spent time with our two kittens during our daughter's backyard wedding reception, to keep them occupied and calm. Everything seemed to go well, and the kittens seemed content and happy the following day. I would highly recommend her!”

Amber is a very reliable, friendly and caring pet sitter! She took a fantastic care of our cat Elvis while we were away, followed all the instructions and our home was just in the same state as we left it. We appreciated daily updates and pictures and we will definitely book again when we go away! We highly recommend Amber!

Jeffrey is the absolute BEST! I feel like he really went above and beyond while caring for my two kitties. What I appreciated most was that he took the time to leave detailed reports on their behavior along with everything he did during each visit, so I knew they were in good hands and well taken care of. I hope I can book him again next time we travel!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Overland Park. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
