“We couldn't have asked for a better Rover sitter! Angie came over the evening before our trip for a meet-and-greet, which immediately put us at ease. She took the time to get to know Molly and even played with her so Molly would be comfortable before we left. While we were away, Angie was dependable, caring, and treated Molly like she was her own. Every visit wasn't just a quick potty break—she spent time playing with Molly and making sure she had attention and companionship while we were gone. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing Molly was in such great hands while we were in New York. If you're looking for someone who is reliable, kind, and genuinely loves animals, we highly recommend Angie. We will absolutely be booking her again. Thank you for taking such great care of Molly!”

“We had a great experience with Keirra! She took great care of our cats; she was very communicative throughout the process, very easy to work with and kept us up to date how the cars were doing every day.”

“Cannot say enough great things about Haley. She followed all of the directions extremely well, took great care of Theo and went above and beyond to stimulate him during their outings. Highly recommend!”

“I felt very comfortable leaving my Great Dane in the hands of Taylor. Although Bella is shy with new people she was always excited to go on walks with Taylor when she arrived. Will definitely hire again.”

“Amanda was great! She took special care of our cats while we were gone. She provided lots of photos each time she checked on them she gave them lots of love. We felt at east while we were away because we knew Amanda was there for our cats.”

“Latasha looked after our kitty (Lazare) and house for a week in July. She was very professional and courteous. She took the time to write down instructions on our meet and greet. Lazare loved her! I appreciated her communication and photos and she also took good care of the house and plants. I wholeheartedly recommend Latasha.”

Sarah took care of my two cats and two dogs, and I can confidently say she is by far one of the most responsible and reliable pet sitters I’ve had on this platform! From the very beginning, communication was great. We had a meet & greet beforehand, and her willingness to help and make sure she understood my pets’ needs was obvious from the start. Throughout my trip, she made sure all four of my pets were well taken care of. Every pet owner knows you can tell even from pictures whether your pets are happy and comfortable, and mine were clearly having the best time with Sarah! Beyond taking care of their basic needs, she made sure they were getting plenty of attention, affection, and playtime, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. This was my first time using Sarah’s services, and it definitely won’t be the last. I came home to happy, relaxed pets, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly, highly recommended!

Emma did a great job with my cats! Her rover cards always had pictures and video along with thorough updates so I didn’t have worry at all while I was away. It was clear my cats loved her and felt very comfortable around her. She also had no problem feeding my exotic pets and even watered some of my thirstier plants. She was always quick to get back to me will definitely book again!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Overland. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
