“I would highly recommend Dana. My dog suffers with separation anxiety. He was treated so well that I think he is now bored at home. We loved having the daily updates of him. We are thrilled we finally found a place we can leave him with no worries. And a wonderful thank you card and treats was a bonus. Thanks you Dana”

“Kristin and her family as always are amazing! She does a phenomenal giving our dog Weatherly a home away from home. The whole family chips in to provide the love, care, and attention to our dog. We've already rebooked her for our next vacation.”

“Harlie was fantastic! We left our dog nervous and a little shy and we picked her up happy and friendly. She sent us updates and was extra patient with our pup.”

“I can’t recommend Katherine enough as a pet sitter, she took amazing care of my husky, Aiko, while I was away. I loved how she sent frequent photo and video updates, it was so reassuring to see Aiko looking happy, well exercised, and clearly loved. Katherine gave him plenty of outdoor time and it was clear she really connected with him. Her own dog, Reuben, is an absolute sweetheart and was such a great companion for Aiko. They got along wonderfully and had a blast together. You can tell Katherine truly understands dogs and treats them like family. I felt completely at ease knowing Aiko was in such caring and capable hands. Thank you, Katherine.”

“Anthony and Krista were great! They sent updates and pictures throughout the stay and communicated very well. My dogs seemed very comfortable and relaxed when I dropped them off and picked them up even though it was their first time staying with them.”
“Angela is an excellent dog sitter. Our dog had a fun vacation of her own at Angela's home. She had the run of the house and yard with another dog to play with and Angela sent us pictures of her having fun. We have left our dog with Angela twice now and already planning a third trip without our young dog because we know she is in good hands with Angela.”

“Our dogs had an amazing time! They were treated like family! They returned home so happy and well exercised :) We received video and photo updates throughout their stay. We will definitely look to have them stay here in the future.”

“Kristen was amazing as usual looking after our two boys for 10 nights. They always get so excited in the car as we pull into her street and they can’t wait to get inside so that is a great testament to how much they love staying with her. The boys always looked so happy in the photos we received and it was very cute seeing them with her dog Chessie. It’s very obvious they are loved and treated like part of her family. We’re so grateful for the wonderful care they received. Thanks again Kristen!”

“He loves our dog as if he were one of his own, Harley absolutely loves this wonderful couple that take him in even at short notice since he was a little puppy. Harley even runs straight up to their house so excited when he sees where he’s at.”

“Mabel got along with her dog really well! I picked her up and she was tired from playing, no behavioral issues. Alyssa was a pleasure to work with & took great care of my baby.”

“I felt very comfortable leaving my pup here. He had a lot of room to play and other dogs to play with. I got pictures every day to see how he was doing. Highly recommend”

“Cindy did a fantastic job watching Cassie! She was attentive, thoughtful, and listened to all of the details we shared about Cassie’s routine and personality. It was clear that Cassie was well cared for and comfortable while we were away. Cindy was also highly communicative, providing regular updates and sending photos, which gave us great peace of mind. We really appreciated the care and attention she gave, and we wouldn’t hesitate to have her watch Cassie again. Highly recommend!”

“We were new to using this app and a little nervous about boarding our dog for the first time, but we couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Our sitter was incredibly kind, communicative, and clearly made our dog feel at home. They send updates and videos which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. They were gracious enough to take him bec it was very last minute on a holiday weekend. It was obvious that our pup was relaxed, happy, and well cared for. We’re so grateful and would absolutely book with them again!”

“I boarded my nervous little dog with Heather, and I couldn't be happier with the care my pet received. Heather connected with me each day with a report of my dog's state of being. I was able to enjoy my time away knowing my dog was in excellent hands. Thank you, Heather!”

“This is our first time using Laurin as our dog sitter. She was very helpful accomodating our last minute booking because our dog sitter has canceled on us. Our dog was super happy, stayed active and feel loved by her and her wonderful family! Thank you so much! Totally recommend her 👌 ❤️”

“Val took great care of Penelope. She took into account my dogs idiosyncrasies and gave her the love and attention she needs. Val sent me pictures every day and touched base to let me know that Penelope was doing well.”
“Mark & Jennifer always take the best care of our goldendoodle. You can tell they really care about the animals they watch and are genuine humans. Can’t praise them enough!”

“Charlotte was wonderful with Murphy! Her dog Louis was so sweet and Murphy had the best time playing with him and another pup in Charlotte’s care. Charlotte kept in contact with a few updates, pictures and videos so we knew Murphy was in good hands. We will definitely use Charlotte’s services again when we leave town.”

“Karen and Tyler were wonderful with our boy Murphy! He has tons of energy and not the most refined manners, and yet they treated him as one of their own. He had such a great time we booked with Karen and Tyler again for our next trip!”

Leslie was fantastic with our senior dog. We were very worried leaving here since she has a lot of separation anxiety. Leslie was able to provide love, attention and affection to such a degree that our old girl did very well and all of our fears were for nothing. She even had a birthday party for our girl while we were away. I think my dog will want ongoing visitation visits going forward. Leslie, we will definitely come back to you on our next trip! Thanks so much for the level of care you gave our baby. 😊

I booked with Amanda and her family very last minute for the Thanksgiving holiday as I was going out of town (not my usual protocol or M-O). Im a first time Rover client and my mind was instantly put at ease. They couldn't of have been any nicer. They are an adorable family with the cutest older bestest bois ever. Mama definitely enjoyed her time. Amanda sent me pictures during her stay and put my mind at ease. I truly appreciate everything and I will for sure be booking with them again in the near future. I cant say Thank You enough to them. They opened their home and hearts for my quirky one good eye, one and a half teeth old lady.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
