About: Caring for animals has been a big part of my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve had pets my entire life and understand how much they mean to their families. I’m comfortable caring for cats and dogs and always make sure they feel safe, relaxed, and well cared for. In my local community, I also help care for feral cats by feeding them and humanely trapping them so they can be neutered. About: I adopted my first dog with my then future husband while I was in grad school: a beautiful 7-month-old cinnamon colored pit-mix, Merrell. She had been returned to the shelter twice. The paperwork said she was "unsocializable," which was absolutely not true. She just needed time and patience. The first thing Merrell learned was how to behave around our cats. We went to training classes together and earned our AKC Good Canine Citizen Award. We even did some agility training to keep things interesting! Also, I have never not had cats. Two pairs of cats snuggled in Merrell's bed with her while she was with us. All of this to say that I love my four-footed family members. I have basic personal dog training experience, as described above, and as a former stage manager and teacher, I'm approachable, easy-going, and I have a lot of patience. My goal is to make your pet's time away from you as stress free and enjoyable as possible. For both of you!
