“Kenzie went above and beyond! She took care of our pup like she was her own. She was even kind enough to add on my mom’s dog last minute for the check ins. She spent so much time caring and loving on them. We came home to happier dogs then when we had left.”

“Katie is very attentive she took great care of Jax and made sure we were updated all weekend. Already have her booked again and will continue to use her for all future needs”

“This is the second time we've used Avery, and she did a good job for us again. She even sent us pictures via email since she knew we may not have been able to access the Rover app on our cruise. Our pup seemed to be well taken care of when we returned from our vacation.”

“Maricel is great! From the initial communication to the intro visit to the actual booking, Maricel was pleasant, timely and very mindful of what our dogs need and what we asked. Our dogs were so well cared for during this multi-day, multi-visit, booking. Thank you Maricel!”

About: I have cared for cats, dogs, and more over the years. I have experience with numerous breeds of dogs and cats. I have cared for animals hours old to their last moments. I believe in treating animals with dignity and respect and will do so with your pets. I am a disabled veteran working on my health care currently. I am available most of the time even at last minute notice, but not all the time. I believe in play with any critter. Walks, play, pets, love, just hanging out watching each other. Whatever it is that your pet likes, I am happy to provide it. They enrich our lives so I do my best to enrich theirs!
“Ting did a great job taking care of Baxter. Very responsible and followed the instructions I left her. She respond in such short notice and ended up coming 2 days straight to check on Bax. I will use her services again in the future.”

About: I've had pets for my entire life. From cats to dogs, chickens to praying mantises. I've done cat-sitting for friends, including encouraging a problem eater and administering insulin shots. I'm good with dogs, using patient and gentle training techniques with my own animals. I only take one or 2 families at a time and if I already have a dog on my schedule, I'll match any others that I take that week in size and temperament. I work from home except for a few hours on Wednesday and Saturday mornings, so your dog will never be without a potty break more than 4 hrs during the day. I have a teenager who does remote school, so there is almost always someone home and awake with your dog. I only do boarding and day care, so I'm not running all over town doing drop-ins and walks while your dog is at my house. If your dog dislikes men, this is the perfect place for them. Just let me know and I'll make sure that they don't have any contact with any men dropping off or picking up dogs, delivery drivers, etc.
“Always a challenge for us to leave pets behind - Emily had us at ease on day one with updates, pictures and making us feal at ease that our animals were safe. Emily went well beyond pet sitting, rescued us from an indoor A/C unit that decide to leak lots of water the 2nd day we were out. Keeping the 2 cats happy and engaged with toys, keeping the pet area spotless after normal cat mishaps almost everyday made me realize how little I do - the cats are probably waiting for us to leave again to get some playtime! Thanks Emily.”

“Couldn’t have asked for more out of a sitter! Kristi is super friendly and connected right away with Elliott during our meet and greet. Kristi kept me updated with how her visit was going with Elliott, what they were doing and sent pictures. I will definitely be utilizing her services again!!!”

“Laurie stepped in for us last minute and was both prompt and efficient. She kept us updated throughout and sent plenty of photos of our pups while we were out of town, which we really appreciated.”

“They are Amazingly helpful, very communicative, made availability for us last minutes & so loving to our pups!! Highly recommend, not easy to find people who are so reliable and kind, especially when watching your fur babies, so grateful we found them!!”

“I so much appreciated the photos and in depth updates! Very kind and always stayed the full thirty minutes (something that was lacking with previous pet sitters). Would use them again & again!”
“There is a reason why Natalie has so many positive reviews and repeat customers. Her professionalism and care she gave us and our cats was above and beyond. Very communicative with us each day, and very adaptable when our entry system took extra steps. We are so pleased with Natalie and will be her newest repeat customer.”

Kayleigh did a great job looking after my 2 kitties for 10 days. She came to my home twice a day to provide food and water for them and clean their litter boxes. She reported every visit to me with pictures. My kitties were definitely in capable hands and I would hire her again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in De Land Southwest. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
