“Thank you Nicole for looking after Sheba and Suki, I hope they behaved themselves, You looked after them so well, I could enjoy my break away without worrying about them,.and thank you for laundering the sheets and towels, that was above and beyond. I will not hesitate to book you again in the future.”

“Anne was able to help me out while I was in a pinch, had a sitter bail out on day 2 of 6 of my vacation and she was able to take care of the dog with no headache for me. She sent picture updates of the dog and also took great care of him. I highly recommend this sitter! Thank you!”
“Natalia was truly the BEST Rover sitter we could have ever hoped for. From the moment we left, she was incredibly communicative, responsive, thoughtful, and caring — and she treated our home and fur babies like they were her own. We have three dogs and a cat, and every single one of them was so loved and well cared for while we were away. One of our pups ended up having an unexpected flea issue and was super itchy while she was staying with them, and Natalia immediately stepped in and handled everything with so much care and compassion. She bathed all three dogs, made sure they were comfortable, and kept us updated every step of the way. It gave us such peace of mind knowing they were in such capable and loving hands. On top of taking amazing care of the animals, she went completely above and beyond with our home. She did laundry, swept, cleaned, remade the bed, and left the house better than we left it. You can genuinely tell she is the kind of person who respects and cares for other people’s space. Natalia is kind, trustworthy, attentive, responsible, and an absolute pleasure to work with. We felt so comfortable having her in our home and caring for the members of our family we love most. I honestly cannot recommend her highly enough. Anyone looking for a sitter who will love your pets deeply, communicate wonderfully, and care for your home with incredible respect should book her immediately. She is an absolute gem and we would trust her again in a heartbeat. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“Maricel has trust 100%. She has cared for my Lollie as if Lollie was her own pet! Daily updates including pictures and immediate response time when I text her! My home is always as clean and orderly as I left it. She is just the best!!”

“Natalie was wonderful. We were in town vacationing & we felt very comfortable leaving our little Frenchie with her. We had never used a sitter or Rover, & she couldn’t have made it easier. 100% recommend!”

“Rebecca is a wonderful pet sitter! She provided the best care to our fur babies. They can be a little skittish with strangers but she won them over quickly. I was so happy to see the photos of happy and calm pups! It helped us enjoy our time away.”

About: I have had a lifelong love for animals and have been a pet owner for many years. I have experience caring for dogs, cats, and birds. My passion for animals and their well-being has only grown stronger with each and every pet I have had the honor of caring for. I have the sweetest fur babies, a lab and a husky, and they would love to have a companion. I understand the importance of providing proper care and attention to pets as my pups are very special to me and have a strong desire to turn my passion for animals into a career as a professional pet sitter. I understand that leaving your pet with a stranger can be stressful, which is why I am determined to establish a strong and trustful relationship with my clients before any sitting services are scheduled. I will also keep open communication with the pet owners throughout the process to ensure that their furry friends are comfortable and happy in my care. As a pet owner myself, I understand the importance of finding someone who you can trust to care for your beloved pets while you are away. I am reliable and responsible, and will always put the needs of your pets first. I am also flexible and can work with you to create a care plan that fits your pet's specific needs. I am fully committed to providing the highest quality of care for each and every pet I work with, and I am confident that my love and passion for animals will make me a great pet sitter. I am excited about the opportunity to care for your pets and provide you with the peace of mind that comes with knowing your furry friend is in good hands. I currently work from home so I have plenty of time to care for your fur baby and attend to their needs. I also have extra crates if needed. My pups love’s going to the fenced doggie park in our apartment complex and we have two parks onsite. And they also enjoy going on walks around the neighborhood.
“This is our second time using Kacie, but the first time for house sitting. Once again, she did a wonderful job and was very communicative and sent lots of pictures and took good care of everything.”

“Brittany is an amazing dog sitter!! She’s so sweet and put my mind at ease right away. Brittany loves animals, she took great care of my pup and my house. She also took pics and videos so I could see what my baby was up to. Don’t hesitate, you can trust her with your fur baby! My vaca was stress free knowing my dog was in great hands with Brittany.”

“Brianne was amazing with our chaotic, nutty furry bunch! We left her with our trio of cats and the dynamic duo of dogs, for a total of five. The first thing we noticed was how all of our furry ones were drawn to her. Animals just know if a person is good. Being away is hard, but it feels better when you have someone you can trust to love you while you're gone. My wife and I had complete peace of mind with her caring for our babies. Brianne is the BEST!”

Anne was able to help me out while I was in a pinch, had a sitter bail out on day 2 of 6 of my vacation and she was able to take care of the dog with no headache for me. She sent picture updates of the dog and also took great care of him. I highly recommend this sitter! Thank you!
Tammy is an absolute gem. She has a heart of gold and obvious love for animals. My animals were so well taken care of and my mind was at ease while away because of her regularly sending me updates and photos throughout the day. She even was up for giving my 12 year old dog his multiple medications, which is no was task. Not to mention, she made his bday special with a balloon, card, and party hat. Tammy is truly a treasure and our new favorite Rover sitter (and we have had lots of good experiences on Rover, but she is the best!) thank you again, Miss Tammy! Love, Ozzie & Mushu

This is my 2nd time booking Mallory as a house sitter with my 2 kitties. She’s very communicative and gives multiple updates throughout the stay which makes being away just a little bit easier! She was able to continue their routines and even give medicine to one of my kitties. She has left my house in great shape both times. Highly recommend!

Calvin was amazing! Attentive to my animals, gave them tons of attention (particularly my very high energy puppy), and took amazing care of my home. I so appreciated his professionalism and his kindness! I will definitely be calling him again when I next travel.
We hired Katelyn last minute as we decided to leave the dogs behind this time. She was very prompt with the meet up and extremely professional and had excellent communication skills. We had her house sit as our dogs are giant babies and she was awesome! Both dogs did not seem bothered by our absence. We will definitely use her in the future!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred De Land Southwest walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in De Land Southwest maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in De Land Southwest choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
