I currently work as an adoptions counselor at the Santa Fe Animal Shelter, so I am constantly walking, moving, and rounding on different animals, as well as playing a key part in finding their forever homes. After work and I’m my days off, I am either taking care of my own animals or riding horses at my stables.

I have a fenced in front and backyard, but we try to keep the dogs in the backyard as it is less risky for them. I have been successful at potty training all of my dogs (and teaching them tricks). My favourite things to do with animals are run around a yard for playtime and lounging on the couch giving lots of pats.

Pet care experience
I’ve had animals as long as I can remember. From cats to dogs to horses. I’ve always loved walking my dogs with my dad. Family and friends have had me as a pet sitter for their puppies, older dogs, cats, and horses. I’ve been trusted to take care of equine therapy horses as well as maintaining and feeding other horses. I have participated in internships such as an equine hospital, Thal Equine, and currently work as an adoptions counselor at the Santa Fe Animal Shelter.

Lucy was great with our dog and cats. She was courteous, responsive, and communicated with us throughout our trip. Our pets took to her immediately-even the shy ones.
