“Natalia was truly the BEST Rover sitter we could have ever hoped for. From the moment we left, she was incredibly communicative, responsive, thoughtful, and caring — and she treated our home and fur babies like they were her own. We have three dogs and a cat, and every single one of them was so loved and well cared for while we were away. One of our pups ended up having an unexpected flea issue and was super itchy while she was staying with them, and Natalia immediately stepped in and handled everything with so much care and compassion. She bathed all three dogs, made sure they were comfortable, and kept us updated every step of the way. It gave us such peace of mind knowing they were in such capable and loving hands. On top of taking amazing care of the animals, she went completely above and beyond with our home. She did laundry, swept, cleaned, remade the bed, and left the house better than we left it. You can genuinely tell she is the kind of person who respects and cares for other people’s space. Natalia is kind, trustworthy, attentive, responsible, and an absolute pleasure to work with. We felt so comfortable having her in our home and caring for the members of our family we love most. I honestly cannot recommend her highly enough. Anyone looking for a sitter who will love your pets deeply, communicate wonderfully, and care for your home with incredible respect should book her immediately. She is an absolute gem and we would trust her again in a heartbeat. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“Katie was great with Angel! Katie and Angel quickly became friends which we were happy to see since Angel does not normally warm up to new people. Katie was also very prompt and polite. We would definitely recommend her!”

About: I’ve had cats since I was 8 years old and I’ve been around family with dogs since before then. I took care of my aunt and uncle’s Great Dane multiple times and me and him created a great bond. Animals naturally gravitate towards me and I really enjoy it. I love getting closer with animals and building relationships with people. I’m a student athlete at CGTC so I have to my sure school and football is taken care of. But between classes during the day I am available and at night as well. And weekends shouldn’t be a problem either. I will take care of exactly what you need me to do with the animal and try to nurture a bond in the process. Whatever objectives are given to me I will do my best to meet those expectations and go beyond wherever I can!
About: Hi, my name is Kelly! I grew up on a horse farm. We had 6 dogs as well as horses, cats, and more so I am very comfortable with dogs as well as other pets. I got my start as a professional dogsitter because my friends and coworkers would ask me if I could watch their pups while they were out of town. They know I love animals. My home is your dog's home if you choose me. I have a fenced backyard. I make sure to be available as much as I can while I have dog guests and give them lots of attention. My dog, Appa, is very social and easy going. She has been known to help comfort dogs who get anxious. I hope you consider me for your pet care needs! I try to make sure I am home when I have pet guests so they are not left I attended though I do work as well. Safety is my top priority. I always feed dogs in separate rooms and if I have to leave, I will typically isolate in different rooms just to make sure everyone is ok while I am away.
“Nicole did a great job looking after our Marley while we were on vacation. She was very attentive to Marley‘s to our requests. Every time she sent a picture of Marley she had a smile on her face. We knew Marley was while taking care of. We will definitely request Nicole the next time we go on vacation.”

“Jennifer was excellent - she connected with all 3 of our dogs and kept us constantly updated with photos and videos! As a first time Rover client , I was definitely apprehensive but can honestly say that I am more the comfortable now and would definitely use Jennifer again !”

“Lucy watched my two dogs while my husband and I traveled to Europe. I felt completely comfortable leaving them in her hands for the week we were away. She was communicative, punctual and was so loving to my sweet boys. She sent multiple photos a day and updated me on how the boys were doing. I am appreciative to have found her and will definitely be booking with her in the future!”

About: I am well versed on various training, dog sitting, boarding and walking methods for our canine family members. Gained hands on experience of training and handling with my 11 year old GSD. I personally researched for years and only then successfully trained my current 10 month old GSD, using my other 11 year old GSD as a control. I will offer free consults to clients in need of repeat services in order to determine the tailored needs for your dog. Always willing to go above and beyond for my love of dogs. Excel with all dogs and utilize communication with the client in order to fully understand the specific qualities, needs and wants of the dog in order to organize and manage effective walks/boarding/training. I have been living in the area for over 20 years and know all of the dog-friendly parks or areas that provide a clean and safe environment offering an array of enrichment. Knowledgeable in training and recognizing animal body language used to establish positive communication with the dogs. I can not only improve the lives of the dog, but also clearly communicate and empower the owner with training tips to continue effective conditioning for a well-trained dog. My remote position of over 5 years as a Sr Mortgage Underwriter was recently moved into the office (Tampa) and decided to take time off. Therefore, I am available 24/7 and mainly focusing on the transition into the Dog Walking/Boarding/Training business. *HOUSE SITTING SERVICE: Active as a less expensive alternative to booking numerous Drop-In visits with multiple dogs. About: Hello all, I have a vast amount of experience within the animal industry. I have my bachelors degree in Animal Science and worked as a veterinary technician for many years. I absolutely love animals, big or small, and enjoy taking care of our “fur babies”. I have knowledge within senior care, puppy care, medication administration, cat and kitten care, litter box cleanliness, and more. I currently work from home, my schedule is whatever I make it to be. I am absolutely free to care for your pets in whatever way that you desire. No job is too big or too small. When taking care of your pets, I will take care of them just as my own. I am meticulous for owner care instructions and directions that “fur parents” leave. When in my home, your animal will be treated like my own, they will be allowed to play freely and have plenty of breaks for bathroom sessions. If a pet is not in my home, I will spend ample time with ones pet in their home and dedicate time throughout the day that allows the pet to feel enriched and comfortable while their parents are away.

About: I’ve taken care of pets since I was 8. I had both cats and dogs. I’ve had experience with family pets as heavy as 90 pounds and cats as furry like Persian cats or Sphynx cats which might be a challenge to tend for? I am currently working part time and I can schedule my hours accordingly. That gives me more time to play and tend to your furry family members. I prioritize safety and the comfortability of clients and their pets. When given specific needs for your environment I strive to follow all the requirements to ensure not only the safety but the security of taking care of your pet. I also make sure that other safety precautions/measures are taken when I am within the clients home and when I leave.
About: I’ve had chihuahuas, labradors, indoor and outdoor cats, and I can adjust to any breed’s needs! I’ve pet sat for family on multiple occasions, and I think reading a pet’s body language is important to care. I can feed, water, monitor, walk and play with your pet! I currently have a lot of available free time and I’m looking to earn money in a low-stress way that isn’t food service, haha. I have a pretty flexible schedule and prefer to work the normal work days (Mon-Fri) while you go to work and your pet is home alone. I would prefer to take care of your pet in your home as my apartment is very small. I love all puppies and kitties and think confidence and patience is key while also making sure your pet is comfortable with me in their space.
About: I always loved animals. I have owned cats and dogs in the past. Right now we have a labrador retriever and a cat, they are very adaptable. I am just starting on pet caring as a business, I truly believe your pet will be happy spending sometime at our place or going for a walk. We recently installed a fence for our dog to run free in our almost half an acre backyard, he loves it... I think other dogs would enjoy that too. We stay at home and homeschool our children. Usually we are at home except for fun outings or emergencies. We do go to church on Sundays. Sunday morning we will be leaving your pet at home alone for about 1 hour and a half. I don't accept pets for Sunday afternoon. I have a fenced backyard, but I never leave your pet in the backyard alone. Your pet will be happy with us when you can't be there.
“Michael was an exceptional pet and house sitter. He took wonderful care of our two dogs and our home while we were away for five nights. From the beginning, he was kind, professional, and genuinely caring. Throughout our trip, Michael provided regular updates and photos, which gave us tremendous peace of mind. It was clear from every message that our dogs were happy, comfortable, and receiving lots of attention and affection. He also took excellent care of our home, and everything was exactly as we left it when we returned. We could tell our dogs were well loved and cared for while we were away. Finding someone you can trust with both your pets and your home is invaluable, and Michael exceeded our expectations in every way. We would not hesitate to book with Michael again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable, thoughtful, and attentive pet sitter.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Orange City
Samuel was wonderful again! Our senior rescue dog was walked several times a day and was happy to have a buddy to be with. Our home and plants were in great shape after 10 days away. Even bedding and towels were taken care of. Many thanks for a wonderful trip and return home.

Ashley was amazing with our fur babies. She went above and beyond to make sure there needs were met and went above my expectations. She will definitely be the number one person I reach out to when going out of town and need a dog sitter or someone to just watch our home. Would recommend her to anyone to watch there animals!

Tammy is an absolute gem. She has a heart of gold and obvious love for animals. My animals were so well taken care of and my mind was at ease while away because of her regularly sending me updates and photos throughout the day. She even was up for giving my 12 year old dog his multiple medications, which is no was task. Not to mention, she made his bday special with a balloon, card, and party hat. Tammy is truly a treasure and our new favorite Rover sitter (and we have had lots of good experiences on Rover, but she is the best!) thank you again, Miss Tammy! Love, Ozzie & Mushu

Calvin was amazing! Attentive to my animals, gave them tons of attention (particularly my very high energy puppy), and took amazing care of my home. I so appreciated his professionalism and his kindness! I will definitely be calling him again when I next travel.
We hired Katelyn last minute as we decided to leave the dogs behind this time. She was very prompt with the meet up and extremely professional and had excellent communication skills. We had her house sit as our dogs are giant babies and she was awesome! Both dogs did not seem bothered by our absence. We will definitely use her in the future!

I couldn’t be happier with the care my dogs received! She was loving, patient, and very attentive to their needs. I got regular updates and photos, which gave me total peace of mind while I was away. It’s clear she truly cares about animals and treats them like her own. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and kind dog sitter! 🐾💛

FAQs for House Sitting - Orange City
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Orange City on Rover is $39.96 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 2,520 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Orange City. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Orange City walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Orange City maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Orange City choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Orange City. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
