“I had a great experience with Kate. She was incredibly responsive, and my very shy cat felt completely comfortable with her (even allowed belly rubs!). She sent lots of photos and updates, which gave me so much peace of mind. I’d definitely book with her again.”

“Raina was fantastic! She took very good care of my special needs dog, was communicative and attentive, which is very important for me. I’d be very confident to go out of town and have Raina petsit for me again.”

“Callie is such a great person to work with for me, and also such a good animal person, for my cat. My Gretel is always so happy to see Callie, and snuggle, and get all the lovin! Highly recommend Callie!”

“Amy was the best cat sitter we've had since we moved to Omaha. She took the time to meet with us and discuss everything in detail prior to my departure, which was pretty last minute so I really appreciated her flexibility. She took her time visiting my cats and sent me great photos and updates. They were less anxious when we returned than on previous trips. I wouldn't hesitate to ask Amy to watch our guys again!”

“Jake and Kate did an amazing job! They answered me right away and took my very last minute booking! They were very kind and gave me lots of updates and sent a lot of pictures, too. I could tell Andy (my cat) was having a blast with them around!”

“Mary Ellen was so wonderful in all ways! I could tell my kitty loved her and she treated my baby very well. She was professional, kind, and communicative. I will definitely be booking again!!! :) Thank you Mary Ellen!!!!”

“Sara was great with our orange boy that can be bossy at times. She played with him every visit and sent multiple pictures. Communication with Sara was very easy. We definitely plan to use her again in the future.”

About: I've taken care of pets for over a decade in a professional and personal setting. If your pet has any special needs don't hesitate to let me know so I can provide proper medications or extra care when they need it! I currently work full time in an office setting. My schedule is the same Monday - Friday. However, I get plenty of breaks and a lunch so I can check on your babies and mine frequently throughout the day. Although crating is a beautiful practice to keep pets safe when not home, I love to allow the pets freedom to roam while I am there to monitor, with plenty of toys or puzzles! Enrichment is a great way to keep your dogs from being bored/anxious and destroying items you'd like to keep off limits.
“Nick has taken such good care of Rocky. He is an older dog and requires a gentle touch. Nick has been great about understanding and helping Rocky be the most he can be I would highly recommend them”
“Madison is great! Super responsive, very professional and great with my cats! She made time to come over prior to my time away to meet the cats and get to know our space and routine. She somehow got them out of hiding on the first day and got the to play with her, which isn’t a typical response from them with new people.”

About: I grew up with a dog, who became my biggest inspiration for working with animals for a living. Currently, I have 3 cats and work as a kennel attendant in my college town. I have worked with many disabled animals, helping them go outside or get comfortable. I have also worked with very young animals who need a little extra patience sometimes. I always pay attention to the animal's individual needs and do my absolute best to accommodate for them. In the past I interned with a groomer who taught me many behavioral signs of dogs and tricks to make them more comfortable if need be. I have also done a lot of research of my own for the behaviors of cats in order to understand my own. I'm currently home for the summer from college and am needing a job that's flexible, but also something that I still love. Since I'm home I will have all the time for all the pets' needs. When I care for an animal I start by giving them lovings, if they are willing to be pet. I will then pick up after them, walk them or scoop their litter, feed them, and of course before I can leave, play with them. Most of all before I do anything else, I double and triple check to see their instructions. Especially if they have any special instructions, I will switch my routine accordingly.
“Alison is absolutely wonderful!! She helped us raise our puppy, work on training with her, took notice to medical concerns, and SO MUCH MORE! She was primarily hired for our puppy but gave our older dog just as much love and attention. We are so sad she moved (but so happy for her future!) We would have continued hiring her each week if she were still local.”

“Erica was very detailed oriented and prompt with thorough updates and pictures. During our meet and greet she took lots of notes and asked really great questions. She was very consistent with each visit and left our home and two cats in very good hands. Our kitties loved her! I would hire her again.”

“Serina is truly the best when it comes to caring for my fur baby! Otis absolutely LOVES when she comes over to go for walks. I am so grateful to have found someone I can trust.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Omaha
Kate is an absolute saint. When she started, my cat Fable would not come out for anyone but me. I left for a nine day trip. Within a couple days she had him playing and getting all of the affection. I will definitely book her again if she is available, and anyone who books her will be very happy with the attention she gives their pets. I am very grateful that she agreed to watch Fable!

Sarah & Nicholas are amazing! Super flexible, great communication and very friendly. We did a quick initial visit to let our puppy get to know them and it went great as well as our drop in visit! We felt so comfortable and happy knowing that we found someone reliable to help us out when we need it. Life savers!

Amaya did an amazing job watching my kitties. She offered to schedule a meet and greet which made us feel secure leaving our cats for a few days. She kept us updated on them and took some great pictures. I will definitely be reaching out to her again to watch the kitties!!:)

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
