“Brooks was able to bond with our dogs who are "iffy" about strangers. He was very attentive to their needs and was a great communicator during our time away. Not to mention that he is a 5⭐ pet photographer! We are already rebooking him for our next trip!”

“Alexis did a wonderful job watching Paul over the winter and sent lovely photo updates throughout the time. On top of that, she refilled my humidifiers daily and dealt with a malfunctioning smoke alarm - she went above and beyond!”

“Mary has been a real gem. She is realible and responsible and we are so grateful for her. From the pictures she sends to the comments she leaves we can tell she enjoys caring for Nyla. Never any doubt about her. Hope she'll be around for a while. :) Nyla looks forward to her visits.”

“Raina is very trustworthy and loving towards my boys. Takes really good pictures, leaves good notes, and spends good quality time with my kiddos. As well as takes care of my home. They are happy boys when mommy gets home. I have her weekly for my sons diabetic shot and when I go on vacation. I trust her 100%!”

“Amazing amazing - Marc was so communicative and loving to the kitties. This was the first time I ever had someone that wasn’t a loved one watch them and wow I am so lucky we got Marc!!!”

“Laura took great care of my cat riddle while I was away. She followed all feeding instructions, sent updates, and I came home to a happy, relaxed kitty. I’d definitely book with her again”

“Wonderful experience with this sitter. Ashley showed up for my kitty every day and tackled all my requests. I would feel very comfortable asking her to sit for my fur baby again.”

“Brooke did a great job taking care of our cats. She even sent me a message asking where the carpet cleaner was because one of the cats had spit up a hairball. Thank you!”

“Cheyenne was great with Casey! Lucy the kitty chose not to come out of hiding when Cheyenne was here, which is typical. Everything Cheyenne did was done well she is very conscientious about everything aspect of the pet’s needs. We will be contacting her again!”

“It's great to have Carissa take care of our cats when we're gone. She is so flexible and accommodating, and we can tell from the photos that our normally skittish fur babies are very comfortable with her. Makes being away from them much easier knowing they're in such great hands. Will definitely use Carissa again.”

About: I’ve taken care of pets for 10+ years, from cats to giant dogs. I have two dogs of my own, and have had cats in the past, so I understand the individual needs of each animal. Senior dogs have a special place in my heart. I’m currently working part time, 3 days a week! My schedule changes week to week, but I am open and flexible to changing my schedule! I can easily crate or move your dogs if I need to! I am eager to earn their trust and am willing to bribe them with treats. I understand each pet has different needs and I am adaptable to them!
About: I have had both dogs and cats in my household. I don’t currently have a pet, and would love to provide care for your pet! I am a retired teacher with a flexible schedule. I am available weekdays and weekends. Pet care works very well in my current situation and lifestyle. Caring for another person’s pet must align with their preferences, routines, and individual needs. I have cared for each of my pets according to their personality and needs, and my vision for discipline and routine.
About: I've house sat and pet sat for family and friends since my youth as favors. Most pets tend to warm to me fairly quickly and let me carry them or pet them on the first meeting. My professional career is focused in child care and development. I've worked with 5-18 years old in various positions. My last position was teaching and caring for teenage youth, who were transitioning from incarceration to their parent's home, at a group home. I am used to dealing with crisis under pressure with a calm demeanor and resolving it to the best of my ability. I am CPR and First Aid trained and certified in non-violent crisis management. I am currently available for all the services I specified in my profile Monday through Friday from as early as 10 am - 7 pm. I am also available for overnight house sitting jobs. While house sitting, I take safety/health of the pets and security of the surrounding area as the #1 priority. When I took care of my pets and others i. My own space, I'd block off any areas in the home that could be damaged or cause injury, if a pet got into it. I always made sure to engage with the pets I cared for, whether, playing fetch or running around with them. I made sure they expended that seemingly bottomless tank of energy.
About: Hello! Thanks for stopping by! Here’s a little info about myself; I moved to Omaha last year from my hometown in MN. While living there I volunteered at a shelter for 5 years called “4luvofdog.” I would host dogs needing a temporary place to stay while awaiting their “furever” home. Along with that I grew up with big and small dogs as well as cats, and watch my siblings/friends dogs regularly. Watching and caring for animals is a passion and self care hobby of mine. Im excited for this opportunity and look forward to building a relationship with you and your pets! •I have a full time job Monday-Friday. I leave my place around 7:15am and am back by 5:15pm. •For check ins I’m available Monday-Friday 5:15pm-9pm and anytime on weekends. •For overnights; drop off and pick up before 7am or after 5pm on weekdays. Weekends I am available anytime. •I’m very accommodating and easy going! As long as the communication is open and honest, I won’t have a problem accommodating needs :) I live in a very cute neighborhood in downtown Benson and love to go on long walks looking at the real estate! No kids, roommates, or pets! My home does not have a fenced in yard and has stairs leading up to the unit. In others homes I’m happy to show up to walk and play with instructions on how they would like the pup to be cared for. I would love to do a meet and greet before overnights as it often makes the dog (and owner) more at ease when they come for a longer stay! I’m happy to sit for longer periods of time . When I am away at work please let me know if your dog does well free roaming or in a wire cage. I love to send picture/video updates!
About: I've had the most honorable pleasure of being part of my own late fur babies (dogs) lives for 17 and 14 years. As well as my first ever cat, Catwoman (sorry girl, for the typical young child name). Then a few others as life went on, Anastasia, Callie, and Izzy (Isabella). Caring for and loving them was my pleasure and took me on many lifelong learning adventures. In order to make a difference for the loves of my lives I have decided to offer my heart to pet care. If given the chance, I can only hope to show your pets love like their own, trust, snuggles, fun, and more...everything they've ever dreamed of. Thank you for entrusting your very special babies to me. I look forward to meeting any and all of them. Due to being a stay at home homemaker it seems I have plenty of time to devote to loving and caring for your loves as if they were my own. I'm available and open to accommodate many different schedules. As of now I am available to care for your loved ones in their own setting where they're most comfortable. Your home is where I'm able to love and care for your furbabies. There are also many possibilities for walking, and I also offer vet visit care. That's as in being your pets' veterinary appointment partner.

“Meagan was a great sitter with our two pups. She connected with them immediately and we felt very comfortable leaving them in her care. Meagan also maintained good communication with us whole she was pet sitting. We would definitely recommend her to others.”

About: Hi! I’m Allison, a graduate student and a huge animal lover. I have two dogs of my own, so I know how important it is to find someone you can trust to care for your pets when you can’t be there. Having two dogs has given me plenty of experience with daily walks, feeding schedules, playtime, and all of the little things that come with keeping dogs happy and comfortable. I know every dog has their own personality and routine, and I’m always happy to follow whatever instructions help your pet feel most comfortable. As a grad student, Rover is a great way for me to spend some of my free time doing something I genuinely enjoy. Whether your dog needs a walk, a quick check-in, some playtime, or just someone to hang out with them while you’re away, I’ll treat them with the same care and attention I give my own dogs. I’m reliable, attentive, and always happy to send pictures and updates so you know how your pet is doing. I’d love to meet you and your pets! I’m currently a graduate student, so my schedule varies throughout the week, but I have flexibility outside of class and school commitments. I love spending my free time with animals, especially since I have two dogs of my own! I’m happy to work with you to find times that fit your pet’s normal routine and make sure they get the attention, exercise, and care they need. I know how much trust it takes to leave your pets and home in someone else’s care. I’ll always follow your instructions closely, including feeding schedules, walks, medications, crate routines, and any other preferences your pet may have. I have two dogs of my own, so I understand that every pet has their own personality and routine. I’ll make sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for, and I’m always happy to send pictures and updates while you’re away!
About: I believe the bonds between dogs and their humans are unique and nourishing. I know how hard it can be to trust someone else with your fur baby, so I take pride in being responsible and considerate of your pet and their needs. Whether I'm taking your pup(s) for a walk or providing some good old-fashioned play time, you can rest assured that your dog is taken care of so you can be free to focus on your tasks. I'm a gentle, patient, and kind person, so I'm good with dogs who may just need a little more understanding and attention. I am currently in a period of transition, so I am very flexible in my availability. I'm available weekdays for anyone looking for pet care while they're at work, as well as longer term boarding for summer trips. When caring for pets in others' homes, I will learn their ways of doing things and adjust accordingly. If caring for pets in my home, I can set up either separate or integrated space depending on individual needs. I have a large backyard for outdoor play time, as well as easy access to walking paths.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
