“Mary Ellen has been very reliable and professional! I have been using her consistently and she has not let me down. Extra bonus is she is able to help out with last minute requests. Would not hesitate to book her, definitely recommend!”

“Our little Berner, Barley is quite timid when meeting new people, but Jack and Kate have been nothing but patient with her! Even when she had an accident in our apartment with the first walk, they made sure to clean everything up before we got home; and all they had on their mind was how they could help support Barley better with the new transition! I can only imagine how difficult it was for them with the first few walks, but in no time our girl has grown to trust them! Jack and Kate write great updates after the walks and have gotten some of THE BEST pictures of our Berner that we have added to our electronic picture frame! We feel so comfortable knowing they are the ones taking care of our girl when we're away at work. We highly recommend their services and will be using them for as long as we can! Booking with Jack and Kate means patience and love for your dog while you're away.”

About: I grew up with a dog, who became my biggest inspiration for working with animals for a living. Currently, I have 3 cats and work as a kennel attendant in my college town. I have worked with many disabled animals, helping them go outside or get comfortable. I have also worked with very young animals who need a little extra patience sometimes. I always pay attention to the animal's individual needs and do my absolute best to accommodate for them. In the past I interned with a groomer who taught me many behavioral signs of dogs and tricks to make them more comfortable if need be. I have also done a lot of research of my own for the behaviors of cats in order to understand my own. I'm currently home for the summer from college and am needing a job that's flexible, but also something that I still love. Since I'm home I will have all the time for all the pets' needs. When I care for an animal I start by giving them lovings, if they are willing to be pet. I will then pick up after them, walk them or scoop their litter, feed them, and of course before I can leave, play with them. Most of all before I do anything else, I double and triple check to see their instructions. Especially if they have any special instructions, I will switch my routine accordingly.
About: I have been taking care of dogs, cats, guinea pigs and lizards for friends, neighbors and family since I was 9. I was also the student therapy dog handler at Creighton University for Cocoa! I love animals and I am excited to be able to take care of them especially since I’m missing my own dog! I helped train my dog who is a German Puddle Pointer from a young age to help him with hunting in the field. I am currently working for Creighton university as an independent researcher on a research grant! I am in the field of cognitive psychology and hoping to become a therapist one day! One of the things that this has included for me is being a therapy dog handler on campus, so I love working with animals. I will have meetings for my summer research grant every Tuesday and some meetings in between that are still TBD. I live in Minnesota and I am here as a student so I may go home a weekend or two this summer! I have always taken care of my own dog at home and many family and neighbor dogs as well. I will be diligent with instructions and the personal background of each pet to give them individualized care. I have been a babysitter, I have worked at a children’s behavioral clinic as well as a childcare center so I am well versed in safety care and I have a background in training for taking care of the ones that mean most to us. Training certifications like that for CPR as well as daycare will translate in the way that I am always prepared and I am able to always stay alert when providing care to furry friends!
“It was a hot ? first week, but our dog had a fun time with Nichole! He definitely enjoyed the company and being out of his crate for a while. We are looking forward to continuing daily walks! ?”

“Rose was available to book last-minute and I’m so happy I did. The night before she was to walk and feed my dogs, she FaceTimed to discuss their needs and get to know the process and their feeding instructions. She cared for my dogs like they were her own and I’m so thankful for that. I’d recommend Rose to anyone I know looking for pet care while out of town!”
“Ellie has been helping us out by walking our dog, Wally, a few days a week. She is reliable and sends me a picture of Wally on his walks every time! Wally is a high energy dog and he is visibly calmer on days he gets to walk with Ellie! We can tell that he loves his walks with her and can tell that she treats him with love and kindness! He now knows her name and gets excited every morning when I tell him that Ellie is coming to see him later! We’re grateful to have a trustworthy person to spend time with him when we’re busy working. We will continue to hire Ellie as often as we can! Thank you Ellie!”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs all my life. From 10 pound mini poodles to 100 pound golden retrievers. I’ve been trusted to dogsit, walk and take care of my families for years. My girlfriend kera and I have watched dogs of all sizes for the last few years. I am a student and kera works fully remote. Easily able to take care of pets. Being able to take care of them during the work day isn’t a problem! Our apartment is near grassy areas and parks, easily able to walk and take them to pets to play. Plenty of space for pets to relax.
“So glad I found Brooks! He has experience with Boxers and knows what they can be like as young adolescents. Emma adored him, and he became her best friend immediately. Brooks was prompt and on time and the communication was outstanding!”

“Paige is absolutely INCREDIBLE!! We needed last second help with our little pup and she absolutely came to the rescue. She was on time or early for every appointment and she made fast friends with our barky pup ASAP. She was great about walking him, playing with him and staying in communication with us….not to mention taking incredible pictures for us! We will absolutely be using her again and I couldn’t recommend Paige highly enough.”

About: I have years of experience with animals and taking care of animals. I visited my grandmas farm every summer and took care of all her animals. I grew up around animals and I genuinely love to give them the best care. I’m 28 and responsible. Currently a full time student at the university looking for a part time job. My schedule is flexible and I will available weekends. I probably won’t be able to have your pet in my apartment, but I’m more than willing to accommodate to your requests and even spend the nights with your lovely pets.
About: Dog Walking - I love dogs (and cats) and I love going on adventures. I would be happy to take your dog for a walk through trails, on campus, or just in your neighborhood. If your dog gets dirty in the process, I am more than capable and willing to give them a bath or just clean off their feet. Drop-ins - I have a dog (and a cat, so I can help with them too) and understand the importance of interaction throughout the day. I would love to come play with your pup and give them food, treats, and love! If you have a fenced in yard, I would love to play fetch with them. I will even help tidy up any messes they may have made inside and I will pick up poop outside. I am a full time graduate student and have limited time during the week. I am more free on the weekends. This is now a side job for me, but one that brings me joy and happiness to provide your pet with care. I treat everyone’s fur babies like they’re my own. This means they will get lots of love and affection. Also lots of exercise to get out all of their energy during my visits. You can also expect great pictures.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
