“Madison is great! Super responsive, very professional and great with my cats! She made time to come over prior to my time away to meet the cats and get to know our space and routine. She somehow got them out of hiding on the first day and got the to play with her, which isn’t a typical response from them with new people.”

“Kate was excellent. She was prompt and efficient with all her communication and appointments. She came and met our dog before we booked her and we knew right away that he would be in good hands. We would definitely use her again.”

I’ve got 10+ years caring for various animals. “Callie was great! My dog interacted really well and I felt comfortable leaving her in Callie's care. I will book again with Callie for future needs and would recommend her with 5 stars : )”

“We were very pleased with Erica. She took notes and asked great questions in our initial visit to ensure things went smoothly. One of my kitties is hesitant around new people and I appreciated how Erica made sure he was doing okay during their check-ins.”

“Raina was a wonderful sitter for our kitties! Her drop in updates had us laughing and missing our cuties. We would recommend her to anyone needing a caring and attentive sitter for their pets. Thanks, Raina!”

About: I've taken care of pets for over a decade in a professional and personal setting. If your pet has any special needs don't hesitate to let me know so I can provide proper medications or extra care when they need it! I currently work full time in an office setting. My schedule is the same Monday - Friday. However, I get plenty of breaks and a lunch so I can check on your babies and mine frequently throughout the day. Although crating is a beautiful practice to keep pets safe when not home, I love to allow the pets freedom to roam while I am there to monitor, with plenty of toys or puzzles! Enrichment is a great way to keep your dogs from being bored/anxious and destroying items you'd like to keep off limits.
“Marin was absolutely awesome. She was prompt and on time for all of the scheduled visits. She provided generous updates, info, and photos of Bear. She accommodated additional time with Bear given her age. Definitely will be booking with Marin again.”

“Sara was great with our shy cat! She gave little updates after each visit letting me know how Izzy was doing even if it was just to let me know Izzy's current hiding place. Great overall experience!”

“Jack and Kate were absolutely wonderful! They cared for our two cats while we were away for two weeks, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. They were reliable, attentive, and made sure to follow all of our instructions. We received regular updates, which gave us peace of mind knowing Oreo and Reese were comfortable and well cared for. We highly recommend Jack and Kate to anyone looking for trustworthy, caring sitters!”

“Laura is very reliable and we appreciate her showing up as scheduled, taking care of our high-maintenance cat and even helping out with a few extra things. We have used her several times before and will definitely rebook with her!”

About: I’ve taken care of pets for 10+ years, from cats to giant dogs. I have two dogs of my own, and have had cats in the past, so I understand the individual needs of each animal. Senior dogs have a special place in my heart. I’m currently working part time, 3 days a week! My schedule changes week to week, but I am open and flexible to changing my schedule! I can easily crate or move your dogs if I need to! I am eager to earn their trust and am willing to bribe them with treats. I understand each pet has different needs and I am adaptable to them!

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Omaha
Kate is an absolute saint. When she started, my cat Fable would not come out for anyone but me. I left for a nine day trip. Within a couple days she had him playing and getting all of the affection. I will definitely book her again if she is available, and anyone who books her will be very happy with the attention she gives their pets. I am very grateful that she agreed to watch Fable!

Amaya did an amazing job watching my kitties. She offered to schedule a meet and greet which made us feel secure leaving our cats for a few days. She kept us updated on them and took some great pictures. I will definitely be reaching out to her again to watch the kitties!!:)

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Omaha. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
