About: Hi! I’m Carol and I’ve been taking care of animals my entire life. My love for animals led me to earning a Bachelors of Science degree in Animal Medicine and I am a licensed veterinary nurse (CVTg). I worked 13 years in general practice, surgery, orthopedics, internal medicine, cardiology and emergency. From puppies to seniors, nervous/anxious or special needs - I welcome all dogs. While we all want our pups to be healthy forever, my background offers the unique ability to provide expert elevated care and guidance if needed. With me, you’re not just getting a dog walker, you’re getting a lifetime of professional training, knowledge and elite skill set. My schedule is flexible for weekdays and weekends and I can often accommodate same day requests. Trained in administering oral, injectable, topical medications, I can coordinate schedules should your pet need medication at a specific time(s). Just let me know what’s needed and we can make it happen! Having worked wildlife, zoo animal, marine animal, farm animal, equine and small animal medicine - I’ve seen all sides of animal behavior. What matters most, to not only the animal but to the owner as well, is always trust. I will always take my time to understand your pets personality and routine. Consistency and patience is key. I’m not their trainer or behaviorist (though I do have training in both) - I’m there to be a friend and caregiver. That doesn’t mean I can’t handle the anxious or unruly furry friends - I love a skeptic and the advanced behavioral training and handling I have under my belt makes me particularly suited for the spicier personalities.
“I couldn’t be happier with Keith as Desmond’s dog walker. He’s always on time, super reliable, and makes scheduling walks so easy. We always get photo updates during every walk — giving us peace of mind that Desmond is in great hands. More than anything, Desmond loves him! Tail wagging, and pure excitement every time Keith comes to the door. It’s clear Keith genuinely cares about the dogs he walks, and it’s not just a job for him. Highly recommend Keith to anyone looking for a trustworthy, attentive walker”

“Jessica was outstanding! She was available on NYE when I needed last minute help. She even came to the house during the day and met with me and Bowie for a meet and greet before she came back that evening on her own. She went above and beyond with sending me updates as well as photos and videos, and even did other things like refill his food and water and remove his collar once he was in for the night (as I requested). My dog instantly was comfortable around her and you can see that she is very professional and passionate about her job. 10/10 recommend, she was so kind and a true life saver!”

“First time meeting Petey. She is great! He was a little reluctant to walk, he barked at first. Food motivated so a little treat at introduction and now he knows who she is, and it was a really good first time walk. 👍🏼😊”

“This app does not do justice with tipping because Erin is just downright amazing. Thank you for taking care of my little man and his home so well and sending me the best photos of him.”

About: Hello, my name is Heather and I love animals. I have extensive experience as a dog walker and dog and cat sitter. I have taken care of dogs as small as Chihuahuas and as large as Neapolitan Mastiffs. While I usually watch one or two pets in a household, a former client of mine had 5 dogs who were different breeds, 3 rabbits, and 2 cats. I have my own cat named Shadow and have been a cat owner for most of my life. I became a vegetarian because I love animals. If you entrust me to watch over your pets in your home, I will treat them like my own. I am caring, gentle, reliable, and hardworking. If I am taking care of your pets, I can also bring in your mail, water your plants, and whatever else you may need. Whenever I see a dog or a cat, I pet him or her. When I visit one of my former clients, he remembers me and wags his tail in happiness. :) Thank you for considering me as your dog sitter! Why I love dog sitting I love taking care of dogs because they are so sweet and each one has a different personality. :) I am available for walks and overnight stays. I am also a nanny for children. I prefer non-agressive dogs who are good on the leash or have a backyard. While I can't care for dogs at my home, if I stay at the client's house, I usually sleep wherever the client chooses, and cater to the dog's needs.

We are so happy we found Kathy and John. We were staying in Ocean Grove for the week with our dog, Harley, and needed a last minute dog walker. Away from home, we turned to Rover and saw all of their positive reviews. We couldn’t agree more. They were flexible and communicative. We loved seeing the pictures of Harley and were relieved she was being well taken of while we were away.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
