I respond within minutes and send lots of photo updates. Communication is my strong suit. I’ve been caring for animals since my teens and have worked with pets of all ages, sizes, and temperaments. I’ve fostered, volunteered at shelters, and even helped with daily animal care on a TV show that filmed at a sanctuary with close to a hundred animals. I’m comfortable with shy cats, senior dogs, energetic puppies, and pets who need a calm, gentle presence. I’m also a recent breast cancer survivor and returned to pet care because animals grounded me through treatment. I’m very respectful of your home and follow your instructions exactly so your pet feels safe, loved, and understood. I keep routines steady, clean up as I go, and pay close attention to anything that seems different in their behavior or energy. Pets pick up on calm, gentle people and I bring that energy into your home. My focus is always on comfort and safety. About: Growing up with a veterinary nurse as a grandmother, I learned all skills needed to care for your pet. When I was young I would pretend I was on a farm going around filling all the bowls of food for the 11 cats and two dogs. I would go out to the garage and wait for the strays so I could give them food, water, and treats. I helped care for the kittens that needed bottle feeds. I helped administer medications to the dogs that were ill. Trained the dogs as needed. Until I had my own pets to look after. I took great pride in giving them all the love and loyalty I had. I’m young but the respect I have for animals is immeasurable. I work only three nights a week at Jersey Shore hospital, so I’m very flexible with any scheduling needed. I live right in Ocean Grove so I can be anywhere in a jiffy. I take long walks daily and am happy to add a companion. I do not have any pets in my home currently, but I often take pet sitting jobs for friends and family. I stay overnight or do stop ins depending on what the owner would like. When I was a nanny I cared for the family’s dog Gryff who you will find in my profile photo. He would cry when I left. We would take naps together. We would go on long walks, play fetch for what seemed like hours, and go swimming with the kids. Your pet will never not feel the love from me.

About: I approach each pet like you would a human by meeting their needs with love. I keep a clean house as well as the fur baby. I am very accommodating and friendly. I request at least 3 days notice unless an urgent need arises. I have experience with training dogs/cats. I’ve house sat for pet owners and cleaned. I’ve even taken care of exotic pets. About: I love dogs more than people 😉 and have been around them my entire life — from Silky Terriers to German Shepherds. I’m a responsible, attentive, and genuinely caring person who will treat your dog like my own. We currently do not have any animals in the home, which allows me to focus fully on your dog’s care and comfort. While we live in an apartment, we’re just a few blocks from the beach in Asbury Park and have access to excellent walking routes. I take dogs on long daily walks of at least 3 miles and am always happy to go farther if that suits your pup. I’m especially understanding of dogs who may be anxious or reactive around other dogs. “Melissa has been fantastic! We have a very stubborn, senior Weimaraner, rescue. He came to us without a lot of training and his leash and general manners, were hit or miss. This was a concern for us when choosing someone to walk him. He is 85 lbs, and when he kicks into stubborn mode, he can be a bit challenging. I could tell immediately that Melissa has experience training dogs, and working through those behaviors. She has been fantastic! We have booked with Melissa multiple times. She is always on time for Bruno’s walks, and her communication is timely and personal. (I’ve had walkers past, where it seemed like I was chatting with an AI bot).
