“Keith is extremely knowledgeable about dogs and dog behavior. He’s kind, patient, confident and calm. I have two young dogs and they both instantly loved him. “Jessica was outstanding! She was available on NYE when I needed last minute help. She even came to the house during the day and met with me and Bowie for a meet and greet before she came back that evening on her own. She went above and beyond with sending me updates as well as photos and videos, and even did other things like refill his food and water and remove his collar once he was in for the night (as I requested). My dog instantly was comfortable around her and you can see that she is very professional and passionate about her job. 10/10 recommend, she was so kind and a true life saver!”

About: I've been caring for animals since I was a young child. I've always loved animals! I'm a person who is dependable, kind, respectful and patient. I'm currently on my summer break so I have plenty of time to take care of your little ones! I'm available Monday-Friday from 10 am- 4pm. Times are flexible and can vary! I double-checked everything and added wire shielding. While also obstructing some parts. In addition. I can provide playpins if necessary. I'll make sure your little ones are safe.
“Mike was awesome with my rescue Truvy. She is still learning manners and he was very patient and calm as a counter to her exuberance. She is also dog reactive on the leash , but again he was very adept at navigating the triggers and giving her a great walk.”

“Alexis is a wonderful dog sitter! She was super communacative and reliable in her check-ins which gave me such peace of mind while I was away. It’s obvious she’s a true animal lover and was very sweet with my dog, she did an excellent job- I’d definitely book with her again and highly recommend!”

“I left on vacation for a week and April took amazing care of my dog, Rocky. She was reliable, attentive, and kept me updated the whole time. I came home to a Rocky happy and well fed. I felt completely at ease knowing he was in such good hands. Highly recommend her for anyone needing a trustworthy and loving dog sitter!”

About: I have been a lifelong cat owner, throughout childhood and into my adulthood until present day. I have experience volunteering in cat socialization in animal shelters, domestically and internationally. I am only doing seasonal work at the moment so I will have plenty of free time to spend with your fur family during the winter months! All plastic debris picked up off the floor and into the trash at all times. Doors to potentially hazardous areas closed at all times. Bowl always full of yummies. Lots of playtime with toys.
About: Animals are such an extension of family and should be treated as such. I've had dogs and other animals through the years and provided general care & SO much love. I'm open to special needs animals whether medications or other, I'll learn anything to help care for an animal. I work in emergency services and have a rotating schedule, please feel free to ask for any day/time I try to be as flexible as possible and will work with my clients the best I can .. just ask! I have worked in a doggy daycare so I have experience with several breeds and situations. How you want your pet cared for is how I will care for them. I'm an "animal spoiler" they deserve to be spoiled since all they do is LOVE us, it's the least we can do. There is no shortage of love and attentiveness with animals when it comes to me.

About: With 10+ years of experience caring for my own dog as well as cats of all temperaments, I am eager to offer quality, safe, and attentive care to pets in my area. I know how stressful it can be to have to find quality animal care last minute, but I absolutely love animals and hope to be able to take some stress off of both owners and their pets. I love working with big dogs and high energy breeds, but am open to caring for all kinds of animals! My full-time role is as a Park Ranger, so I have an extremely flexible schedule ranging throughout the day. I typically know my schedule for the month by the 15th of the previous month and am willing to work around everyone’s schedules to find the sweet spot of what works best for us. ✨🐴 Alongside experience with dogs and cats, I have experience caring for horses and pack mules! I have veterinary science experience in Equine Hoof & Limb from college, as well as several years of experience caring for therapeutic riding horses, National Park Service pack mules and horses, and show horses. I am a full-time park ranger with a very flexible schedule. I’m not trapped in a strict office schedule and have my month planned out by the 15th of the month prior, so I can absolutely plan care with a shorter or longer term notice. Due to my prior experience caring for pets and with veterinary science education, I am a very careful caregiver. For all animals, but especially for cats, I will regularly make sure I am not bringing anything in that could spread communicable diseases or endanger the animal in any way. With all animals but specific with dogs, they will not be left unattended to roam even in fenced areas that they are used to - I know how beloved animals are to our families, and I will always have an eye on your pet while they are in my care! Additionally, I will not bring in any other animals or guests that are not agreed upon with the owner beforehand - I believe that if you hire someone to watch, walk, or care for your pet, you deserve 100% clarity over who they are, what their experience is, and who/what is entering your space.
About: Hi! I’m Carol and I’ve been taking care of animals my entire life. My love for animals led me to earning a Bachelors of Science degree in Animal Medicine and I am a licensed veterinary nurse (CVTg). I worked 13 years in general practice, surgery, orthopedics, internal medicine, cardiology and emergency. From puppies to seniors, nervous/anxious or special needs - I welcome all dogs. While we all want our pups to be healthy forever, my background offers the unique ability to provide expert elevated care and guidance if needed. With me, you’re not just getting a dog walker, you’re getting a lifetime of professional training, knowledge and elite skill set. My schedule is flexible for weekdays and weekends and I can often accommodate same day requests. Trained in administering oral, injectable, topical medications, I can coordinate schedules should your pet need medication at a specific time(s). Just let me know what’s needed and we can make it happen! Having worked wildlife, zoo animal, marine animal, farm animal, equine and small animal medicine - I’ve seen all sides of animal behavior. What matters most, to not only the animal but to the owner as well, is always trust. I will always take my time to understand your pets personality and routine. Consistency and patience is key. I’m not their trainer or behaviorist (though I do have training in both) - I’m there to be a friend and caregiver. That doesn’t mean I can’t handle the anxious or unruly furry friends - I love a skeptic and the advanced behavioral training and handling I have under my belt makes me particularly suited for the spicier personalities.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Avon-by-the-Sea
We are so happy we found Kathy and John. We were staying in Ocean Grove for the week with our dog, Harley, and needed a last minute dog walker. Away from home, we turned to Rover and saw all of their positive reviews. We couldn’t agree more. They were flexible and communicative. We loved seeing the pictures of Harley and were relieved she was being well taken of while we were away.

I can’t recommend Anahi enough! She went above and beyond to care for my baby boy. From regular updates with photos to thoughtful check-ins, I always felt at ease knowing he was in such capable and loving hands. Bailey was happy, well-fed, and clearly adored. It’s rare to find someone this reliable, attentive, and genuinely kind. I’ll definitely be booking with Anahi again—thank you for everything!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
