“Julia was great with my cat Frankie who usually dislikes everyone but me, which made the 10 days I was away so much less stressful! Julia sent daily updates and photos and I was so happy to see how well Frankie was doing with her. I definitely look forward to booking with Julia again in the future.”

About: Animals have always been the center of my world, from growing up with pets to pet-sitting countless dogs and cats across NYC. My two cats, August and Ivy, are the absolute loves of my life - My goal is simple: to provide your beloved pets with the exact same high standard of care, safety, and affection that my own two companions receive at home. I work in the office 3 days a week, but I have an hour for lunch and live only 7 min from my office. If close enough I will be able to check in midday as well as morning and after work. I have a fenced yard, though my cats are indoor only I have taken care of my neighbors dogs and enjoy playing fletch for round after round after round. I am organized and will have notes based on what you need for each drop in, will supply pictures, be there on time and stay the whole time. Having used rover myself I know how integral these things are!

“Marna was super responsive and took really good care of my 11-year-old cat while I was away for 5 days. I really appreciated that I was able to book pretty last minute and my cat seemed happy and healthy when I got back. That’s all I can ask for!”

“Madeleine took excellent care of our two cats while we were away for a few days! They can be very messy eaters, and we were impressed at how clean our space was when we returned.”

About: I’ve been surrounded by animals my entire life and have always considered pets part of the family. I grew up with dogs and currently spend lots of time with our family’s high-energy Blue Heeler mix, who keeps me active and reminds me how much enrichment, exercise, and attention dogs need to thrive. I’m also a lifelong cat lover. My 19-year-old cat recently passed away after many years together, and during his final years I provided extensive care, including managing daily medications and supporting him through several medical needs. I’m comfortable caring for senior pets and animals who need a little extra patience and attention. I currently volunteer walking dogs at the Animal Welfare Society, where I love getting to know dogs with all different personalities and energy levels. I especially enjoy working with active breeds who need extra exercise, mental stimulation, and adventure. If you have a high-energy dog who loves walks, exploring, or getting outside, I’d love to help! I’m happy to provide everything from neighborhood walks and drop-in visits to longer adventures like day hikes for dogs who are ready for a little more activity. I work full-time, so my availability is focused around evenings, weekends, holidays, and scheduled visits. I am available for overnight stays in your home, and I’m happy to provide cat sitting, drop-in visits, and care for pets who benefit from a little extra attention while you’re away. For dogs, I offer walks and visits during my available times, with a special love for active dogs who need exercise and enrichment. Weekends and holidays are great opportunities for longer walks, outdoor adventures, and extra quality time. I’m committed to providing dependable, thoughtful care that fits your pet’s routine and helps them feel comfortable while you’re away. My priority is making sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for while they’re away from their family. I will follow your pet’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, medications, exercise needs, and their preferred ways of receiving attention. When caring for pets in their own home, I understand that maintaining their familiar environment and routine is often the most comforting option. I will treat your home with respect and provide updates so you know how your pet is doing. For pets staying in my home, I provide a calm, safe environment and tailor their experience to their individual personality. Cats will have a quiet space to settle in and, depending on their comfort level and my availability, can have supervised access to explore and interact. When I’m away, I prioritize safety by providing a secure, comfortable area where they can relax.
“Katey is an all star! Even when a health complication for our cat occurred right before we left for vacation she was able to help us handle it. We returned to 2 happy kitties.”

“Sera did a wonderful job watching my cat! She was on time, communicative, and sent super detailed visit cards that kept me at ease while I was out of town. She followed my instructions and also added some extras like hiding treats for enrichment and brushing that were much appreciated!”

About: I’m a lifelong pet owner and caregiver with experience across a wide range of animals. Dogs have always been at the heart of my life—I currently own a senior dog named Ralphie, and my last four dogs were all adopted as seniors. I’m very comfortable with walking, feeding, administering medications, and following detailed care routines, especially for older pets. I also grew up in an extremely pet-centric household. At one point, my family cared for five dogs and four cats at the same time, so I’m very familiar with busy, multi-pet environments and the structure required to keep everyone healthy and happy. Beyond dogs and cats, I’ve helped care for fish (both freshwater and saltwater), reptiles and lizards, rodents, and birds, and I understand that each species has unique needs, routines, and sensitivities. I’m calm, attentive, and respectful of the fact that pet parents care deeply about how their animals are treated. My goal is simple: provide reliable, thoughtful care so your pets feel safe and comfortable—and you feel confident while you’re away. Please note that I also carry liability insurance above and beyond what is already offered under Rover’s guarantee policy. Pet care fits very naturally into my daily and weekly routine. I’m currently in between jobs, which gives me open and flexible availability for walks, drop-ins, and consistent care throughout the day. I enjoy building my schedule around pets’ routines rather than squeezing them into limited windows. Because of this flexibility, I’m able to accommodate morning, midday, evening, and weekend visits, as well as last-minute requests when needed. I value reliability and consistency, and I like knowing I can give pets my full attention without rushing. When caring for pets, I work exclusively in my client’s home, where pets are most comfortable and routines stay consistent. I follow all instructions closely regarding feeding, walking, medications, and household rules, and I’m very mindful of maintaining your space exactly as you left it. Safety is my top priority. I make sure doors, gates, leashes, and harnesses are secure, double-check medications and feeding instructions, and remain attentive to any changes in behavior or health. I take a calm, respectful approach—especially with senior pets or animals who may be anxious or shy. I understand that trust is essential when someone is caring for your pet in your home. I communicate clearly, provide updates as requested, and treat both your pet and your space with care, responsibility, and respect.
“Justine watched our two cats while we were away for Thanksgiving. She was very responsive and updated us with pictures and a note after each visit. We really appreciated her flexibility and attentiveness over the holiday!”

About: Longtime dog lover and owner, current parent of a 9-year-old Siberian Husky service dog whom I trained to myself. I love dogs of all sizes and shapes and personalities and I can't wait to meet all the wonderful furkids that I'll be looking after in the future. I'm always telling people "I may have trouble remembering your name, but I will always remember your pet's name." Though I am small in stature I'm actually quite strong and can handle large/muscular dogs (and the occasional feral cat when necessary), because I just know how to move with them/guide them. I'm also not intimidated by aggressive behavior in animals, nor do I meet it with aggression in return. I always try to calm the animal and figure out the issue, putting myself between them and anyone/anything that might upset them further. I have a personality/presence that dogs seem to love, from the timid to the social, the calm to the active. I'm a fast walker, so your dog will certainly get a workout they'll love as they keep pace with me, but I can also meander when needed for the older dogs and fumbling puppies. I have experience doing basic grooming for dogs: bathing, brushing, shaving away mats, clipping nails, trimming the fur between pawpads, brushing teeth, and cleaning ears. I do not have experience doing "style" cuts for dogs. I know snake pet care as well, so feel free to inquire if you need someone to look after your danger noodle! Pet care is my primary work focus right now as I work through completing my online schooling towards getting my degree and Vet Tech licence. I have a backyard for your dog to play in alongside my very friendly Husky. It's not fenced in, but I keep a spare long-lead on-hand, same kind as I use for my girl, for guest dogs. If your dog is an especially strong one please let me know and I'll make sure to have an lead appropriate for your dogs weight strength available. Inside the house is dog-friendly and spacious, and I can crate your dog if needed. My dog is allowed on the couch and my bed, so do let me know if those are no-go areas for your dog. If your cat likes outside time I can provide walks and/or put them out in the backyard on the spare long-lead.
“She is a fabulous pet sitter. Always appreciate her level of communication and how much she cares for our kitties. We travel what seems monthly and she’s our go to sitter!!”

“Stacey is wonderful! She is friendly, reliable, and great with our cat. Our cat has some behavioral issues and is not the easiest to take care of. He's no sweat for her and he's even starting to warm up to her. Stacey is attentive and thorough with her visits with him. We will be using her again and again! :)”
About: I’ve taken care of pets my whole life, and especially love taking dogs on walks where they get to lead with their noses. I wish I could get a pet right now but since I can’t, I love helping out other pet owners to get my dog and cat fix! I just moved to Portland and am applying for work in conservation and/or education, so have a very open schedule as I continue my job search. I am usually gone on weekends out in the woods somewhere, but am around the city on weekdays! I cannot host pets in my home, but will happily visit your home and make sure to follow all pet care instructions you leave for me!
“Jesika was so great, so helpful and flexible and reassuring! This was our first time leaving our cat all alone and she went above and beyond to make sure the kitty was ok!”

“Briana took excellent care of our diabetic cat! She really went above and beyond, playing with him and giving him affection, and is one of only 2 sitters who have successfully been able to administer insulin injections.”

“Anna was so wonderful. She watched our cat while we went away for the 4th of July. She was incredibly communicative and sent wonderful pictures/updates. Would recommend Anna to anyone looking for a kind and reliable sitter!”
“We were grateful to have Rose take care of the kitties while we were gone for thanksgiving. We gave her a lot of instruction but I think she figured it all out. I appreciate that she came to visit and meet the kitties first and also brought and wore shoe covers on her shoes while in the house.”

“Shannon was great with all 3 of our furries! The pictures we received were much appreciated. We felt very at ease with her coming as drop in / out. Will be booking again!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Ocean Avenue
Julia was incredibly accommodating to our ever evolving schedule. Our dog Bernie took to her right away and happily walked off for a walk with her. She watched him for us for several hours and gave him an incredible walk and play session. He came home and crashed out for the rest of the day. She sent some sweet pics and was very easy to communicate and quick to respond. I would definitely hire her again and again!!!

We are so grateful to have Anna as our friend of Nahla while we travel occasionally. She faces Nahla's occasional old lady grumpiness with treats in hand and wins Nahla over in a minute. I especially appreciate Anna's use of the Rover card so I know exactly when Nala is out and about and whether or not she peed and pooed and what she ate and when she's back home. To have such thorough communication while we are far away is a great comfort.

Lindsey was professional and clearly a dog person! Our pups had a great time playing with her. She sent pictures and updates so we were never wondering how they were doing. My dog got super muddy and she cleaned her up and also took care of the messy towels. I would absolutely trust her to care for our pups again!

Thank you so much for watching Winnie! We loved the pictures, and the comments were great! Honestly the most realistic updates we've gotten so far from a cat sitter. We were reading them going "yup, that's our Winnie" lmao. Definitely will book again next time we go away!
