We got daily posts and updates to show how he was doing. Made us feel very secure about using Marna in the future when we travel. I think Serge got a little spoiled actually. “Christine is a new favorite dogsitter! I left one of my dogs with her and her canine crew for five days—she came home happy, healthy, and tired after romping around the big fenced yard, dipping in the pool, and snoozing on the couch. Worry-free dogsitting from a true dog lover. Thanks, Christine!”

“I can't thank Trish enough for taking care of rox when I was traveling! She loved him like her own! She took him to the park and cuddled with him every day. She updated me with pictures throughout my trip and it really put me at ease! I really recommend her and will definitely go back to her if needed in the future! Thanks so much Trish! ”

“Hanna was amazing! She took fantastic care of my two kitties while I was out of the country for a week. My older cat had an ear infection which required ear drops twice a day - she sent updates on his ears every time she visited and even offered to get more medicine from his vet if needed. My younger cat is afraid of everything and everyone that isn’t me, but she felt comfortable enough with Hanna to come out of hiding on more than one occasion. Hanna left my home exactly as I left it and followed all instructions perfectly. I cannot recommend her enough and will definitely be using her for future trips!”

“Madeleine is kind, responsible and great at checking in with photos! In fact, she took one of my favorite pictures I have of my kitty, ever. Highly recommend.”

“So sweet and understanding when I miscommunicated instructions to her about accessing my place. She waited around to hear back from me about where the key was- which she had no obligation to do. She played with my kitty and sent lots of photos, which was a big comfort to me as I always worry about him when I’m away. She’s great and very sweet :)”

About: While dogs have always been at the center of my life, I also have solid experience caring for cats. Growing up, I regularly helped care for family cats and learned the basics of feline routines early on—feeding schedules, litter box maintenance, respecting boundaries, and understanding that cats often prefer calm, predictable care. I may not be a “cat person” in the stereotypical sense, but I am reliable, observant, and attentive. I understand that cats have distinct personalities and that their comfort often depends on consistency and low-stress interactions. I follow instructions closely and make sure your cat’s routine is respected while you’re away. If you’re looking for dependable drop-in care with clear communication and thoughtful attention, I’m happy to help.
“Hannah was absolutely WONDERFUL with my cat while I was away for a wedding! I got regular, detailed updates with pictures and videos, and I felt so much more relaxed knowing my skittish cat was comfortable with her. 10/10 would recommend and will definitely book again! Goes above and beyond.”

“Anna was so wonderful. She watched our cat while we went away for the 4th of July. She was incredibly communicative and sent wonderful pictures/updates. Would recommend Anna to anyone looking for a kind and reliable sitter!”

About: Although I didn’t grow up with cats due to my dad’s allergies, I’ve always loved them. I was constantly seeking out my friends’ and neighbors’ cats and regularly helped cat‑sit whenever I had the chance. During undergrad, I adopted my first cat, and after moving to Maine, I welcomed a second so my oldest could have a companion. I understand that every cat has a unique personality and routine, and I’m very comfortable caring for cats with special diets, medications, medical needs, or shy temperaments. I’m happy to follow detailed care instructions and provide whatever care your cat needs to feel safe, comfortable, and well‑loved while you’re away. You can also expect lots of photo updates, because I know how hard it is to be away from your baby!
“Katey is an all star! Even when a health complication for our cat occurred right before we left for vacation she was able to help us handle it. We returned to 2 happy kitties.”

“Marna was absolutely wonderful with our cat! She was very reliable and went above and beyond to ensure that we had a relaxing vacation and our pet was well cared for! I would highly recommend her! :)”

About: I’ve loved animals my entire life and have had three dogs and two cats over the years. I’m currently raising a golden retriever puppy with my family and absolutely love spending time with dogs. Friends have always trusted me to watch their pets while they’re out of town because they know I treat every animal like family. I’m the kind of person who stops people on the street just to ask if I can pet their dog. Caring for animals genuinely makes me happy, and I’ll make sure your pet feels safe, loved, and well cared for. I’m currently between jobs, which gives me a very flexible schedule and plenty of availability to give your pets the attention, care, walks, and love they deserve. I care for every pet like my own, always putting their safety, comfort, and happiness first. I stay alert on walks, careful around other dogs, people, traffic, and our surroundings to make sure pets feel safe and secure at all times. I also have a fenced yard for safe play and experience caring for and crate training puppies since I currently have 2 dogs.

“It was kinda a last minute booking and had to send pics with directions, and Katherine killed it! I have two cats who manage to be sweet but mischievous at the same time. She dug into the toy drawer and played fetch with them and cleaned up when they tipped the auto feeder over. With my ocd cleaning tendencies, that was very much appreciated.”

“She is a fabulous pet sitter. Always appreciate her level of communication and how much she cares for our kitties. We travel what seems monthly and she’s our go to sitter!!”

“It was a relief to be able to rebook with Meagan as I knew she had my kitties in hand. She was even able to give my cat her inhaler which I struggle with. Will definitely rebook again.”

“Annie took the most thoughtful care of our two cats while we were away. Both have more needs than the average kitty (one senior, and one with diabetes that requires blood sugar checks and insulin) - meaning that my husband and I have not been able to leave home together or take a trip in a long, long time. Annie was able to manage all of their complexities & medications, and gave them plenty of love and attention. She had our older, *pickier* cat snuggling by the second visit. :) Also sent us the sweetest pictures and updates from every drop-in! In a nutshell, she made our cats comfortable and kept them safe, which gave us the peace of mind we needed to leave. Annie is a very skilled, lovely person and we are SO grateful to her!!”

Perfect for high energy dogs - Ocean Avenue
About: I genuinely love cats and dogs and I would own more if I could! I currently have two cats (Han and Solo) and a dog named Ollie. I understand different animals have different needs and routines. Here to help look after your animals for dog walks, drop in visits, potty breaks, babysitting! I currently work from home and can be fairly flexible and available for your pets needs. I can do early mornings, evenings and drop ins/walks during the day. As I have animals at home it will be best if I look after your pets in their own home. I walk my dog often and he loves other dogs so we would be happy to add another to our daily walk!

“Absolutely wonderful pet sitter. Marna was calm and patient with our little chihuahua, Miika. Miika was happy and relaxed when she was picked up. I highly recommend Marna and will definitely be using her services again.”

“Emilia took great care of my dog Louie who is a bit nervous around new people. Communication was great and I could tell my little guy felt very comfortable with her. Would 10/10 recommend!”

“Alma was great with Reynard and sent photos and updates throughout the day. Reynard and Birdy got along well. Very happy that Alma was able to accommodate a last minute booking and we will certainly book her again!”

“This was our first time leaving our newly adopted dog at someone else's home, and we felt anxious about it, of course. But, all of that anxiousness melted away after meeting Joshua and Ionna! Super nice folks, with very calm demeanors. Our sweet new pup, Olive, can be timid around new people and dogs, and they were very mindful of that, and very understanding. Their two pups, Charlie and Emma, are lovely, happy goofballs! We had a great experience with our Miss Olive staying there, and we plan to continue requesting doggie daycare with them whenever needed!”

“Our pup was very happy at Kylie’s house. It was totally puppy-proof, she was attentive to our dog’s needs and she was easy to communicate with. Kylie and John seem like great people and we would be happy to use them again sometime.”

“Annie was fantastic! Winnie is not the easiest of dogs and Annie was gentle and patient with her. She found ways around things that Winnie doesn't enjoy, like being picked up, which is necessary because she can't do stairs.”

About: I have been a pet carer since I could hold a spoon and scoop cat food onto a plate. My family had two cats for my entire childhood; they lived to 18 and 19 years old! I have cat-sat for friends and family for all my life and through this have become extremely comfortable with cats—from the grumpy to the cuddly. I have given cats medicine in most forms that don't require a certification (pills, syringe, in food, inhalers, ointments... just no injections!) and have sitted for kittens, cats with illnesses like chronic respiratory issues, cancer, and severe skin allergies, and have no queasiness when it comes to the realities of life with cats! With dogs, I have more of the proper pet-sitting experience. That has really ramped up in the last year, since we moved to Portland and into an apartment that is pet-friendly. I have loved getting to know each dog and adjusting so they have the best time possible (it can't be easy leaving home for a stranger's house!). For example, one dog tends to have a much better, more peaceful day if I get him out to the woods for a run/walk in the morning before work (who wouldn't!) Another loves to cuddle, so we put a blanket on the couch so that she can snuggle while we watch TV at night with constant pets. Another is whip-smart, so I try to make sure we do extra enrichment/play time. With all animals, I try to go above and beyond and see them as individuals with distinct personalities and needs. :) I am a work-from-home journalist who would absolutely love some company, playtime, cuddles, and more reasons to get outside during the day. Sadly, I travel too much right now to adopt a pet of my own. I would very much appreciate the opportunity to bond with and share my space with an animal! My work schedule is incredibly flexible, but in general I am home all day, with some sort of exercise in the morning that I would be happy to make part of the pet sitting experience, a remote work day wherein I have a lot of freedom to take breaks. I also have a small porch, a medium-sized fenced yard, a larger non-fenced yard, and a beautiful suburban area to walk with nearby parks. I am often away from home for a few hours in the evening, but I am flexible and happy to stay home with an animal if necessary. Flexibility is the name of the game! We live in a very safe area, in a pet-friendly home. It is just my partner and I, two young professionals, in an apartment that regularly hosts animals for boarding. As a previous long-time pet owner and sitter, I am aware of the best practices regarding animal safety (depending on the animal). I prioritize comfort and respect with animals. I think of animals as a member of the family, and will care for their interest and safety as I would a child who was in my care.

About: I raised, trained, and cared for my family dog from a puppy when I was in high school. Post college I adopted a senior dog and cared for him for the last couple of years of his life. In the meantime I have been a sitter for friends and family dogs and cats over the years. I am used to giving medications (even when it needs to be disguised) and staying on a feeding schedules. I am very up for caring for senior dogs who want to lay around the house, and equally ready to go on long walks with a dog with more energy. I work from home always, so will be around during the day for pups who like to hang! I'm on the East End of Portland with the Eastern Prom very close by so plenty of places to walk and explore. I am usually out and about in the evenings for a few hours at a time. On the weekends I like to be busy, but can certainly adjust my time when I have a dog or cat around. I have a large one bedroom, and am on the 3rd floor. So my place is likely not good for pets with mobility issues (unless they are small enough that I can carry them). I live very close to lots of nature easily accessible and make a point to get outside often.
About: I love dogs and I love walking! I just move to Maine and I am looking to walk, board or just love on your dog! My 14 year old rescue Frenchie, Clarabell (pictured above with the most sass) went over the rainbow bridge so I am looking to love on other people's dogs because I can't imagine getting another. She was my puppy soulmate. (That sounds weird, I promise I am not super weird) Anyway, I want to be around dogs and still have a lot of dog love to give. I work from home so I am around a lot. If you have questions, reach out! I work from home so I am able to take walks during the day and also a great candidate for boarding. Dogs can be on the furniture if they want and we will go on tons of walks and adventures. I have a home with a yard but no fence, so I normally just take the dogs out for the morning, mid day and evening walks to go potty. I also live near Willard Beach so if they are able, I can take them to the dog beach in the morning.
“Lindsay is fantastic. She has been a lifesaver with our new pup. He always comes home happy and tired, and Lindsay always gives great updates so I know exactly how our pup has been throughout the day. I couldn’t recommend her more.”

“Emily and Kieran took a very good care of our dog! They were very accomodating even on the last minute notice, and were very flexible on the timing, which we really appreciate :) They took Ohsam out for a walk several times, gave lots of loves and cuddles. I can see Ohsam had a great time with the family! Would recommend them during our next visit in Portland. Thank you!!”

“Andy has been walking my dog fairly regularly for over 6 months now and I can’t recommend him enough. He is always timely in his response and communicates very clearly. I would recommend him to anyone who’s looking for a loving and responsible dog walker.”

“Rose is excellent! She goes above and beyond to keep our pup stimulated on her mid-day walks and always leaves detailed reports with plenty of pictures. She is our go-to walker.”

“Katey has been so great with Enzo. She gained his trust almost immediately and, in all the pictures you can really tell he’s really at ease with him. She’s also a great communicator and responds promptly. I only wish I’d found her sooner!”

“Matt was great! He was communicative from the meet and greet through a full week of 2x day walks, he always provided an update on how things were going. He was caring and patient with my dog and punctual for all walks! Thank you Matt!”

“Harrison has done wonderfully with my pup Louie, he is a strong communicator, always prompt in his visits, and my pup is always looking happy, and healthy in all of his post or during walk pics. Highly recommend Harrison for anyone looking for extra support for your furry loved one!”

“Meagan is awesome! She was so excited to meet Knox the first time and went above and beyond with him on their walks! We really appreciated the pictures and notes from their time together. Meagan also shows up promptly and left me with a tired and happy puppy! Highly recommend!”

“Madeleine is amazing. I was in the hospital for 10 days and when my service dog was finally able to come spend a few nights with me, Madeleine stepped right up to the task. Then I got discharged before expected and had to cancel her and she was very professional and understanding. Now she’s going to be coming to my house to walk my service dog some weekends which helps me hugely! My dog was instantly comfortable with Madeleine and I’m so grateful for her experience and flexibility because everything was double speed while I was in the hospital. Best rover walker I’ve met.”

“Alejandro has been a life saver the last month I’ve been unable to walk my fur baby. He’s prompt, communicates great (I’ve made a few errors in my bookings and easily corrected), and my dog loves him! Alejandro takes my pup on a good 30 minute survey of the neighborhood, often taking many, many pee breaks to make sure he’s left his mark. Thankful for Alejandro’s patience.”

“I have a zoomie little dog who Jack took great care of on two last minute walks. Jack responded quickly to the request which was a relief when needing to book something in an emergency. Finn even got in a little jogging and cuddles. Thank you, Jack!”

“Annie recently started taking my dog for regular walks. My dog is very shy around new people, and at first she was wary, but Annie has gained her trust. Annie is sweet, patient, and a responsible dog sitter. She has my recommendation for sure!”

About: I work at The Bark Yard, a fear and force free doggy daycare and boarding facility, where I care for dogs daily in a positive, stress-free environment. I’ve grown up with small to extremely large dogs—mainly Boston terriers and Great Pyrenees—and have hands-on experience with feeding, medication routines, enrichment, and reading canine body language. I also personally own and care for a cat, so I’m comfortable providing attentive, gentle care for both dogs and cats. Pet care is already a regular part of my daily and weekly routine. I work hands-on at a doggy daycare and boarding facility, so caring for animals, following schedules, and reading behavior is second nature to me. At home, I care for my own cat with consistent feeding, litter maintenance, playtime, and observation. Because pet care is built into my lifestyle—not something I squeeze in—I’m reliable, attentive, and able to adjust my routine to meet each pet’s needs. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I prioritize safety, trust, and maintaining their normal routine. I carefully follow all written and verbal instructions regarding feeding, medications, walks, and household rules. I respect the pet’s space, read body language, and move at their comfort level—especially for shy or anxious pets. I keep doors, gates, and leashes secure, maintain a clean environment, and leave the home as I found it. My goal is for pets to feel calm, safe, and cared for in their familiar environment.
About: Over the years, I have learned a lot about cats through experience and research. I am uniquely qualified to help with: - multi cat households and the nuances of feline care such as separate feedings, hierarchies, or cats that don’t get along with others in the home - to assist with medical needs, always depending on tolerability but willing to get creative - build rapport and trust with extra shy cats - approaching and caring for cats with challenging behaviors or peculiarities I am employed full time and a mother. This is a fun and fulfilling side hustle for me. Reach out if you’re flexible and can work together with me to come up with a schedule that works for all, especially your furry babies. Tailored by case. it’s important parents describe their cats’ needs so routines can be upheld and stress is reduced across the board. Peace of mind is so important when you can be there to personally care for your beloved furries!
