About: Hi, I am Mamie (I have gone by Mamie since birth but am technically named Mary) and I am a lifelong pet person, and professional sitter. I am relatively new to Rover specifically, but am in my 40's and have cared for other people's pets for over 15 years, both here in Pittsburgh and in Seattle where I am originally from. I am fully privately insured for pet sitting and dog walking and carry broadened property damage coverage, animal bailee coverage and veterinary reimbursement coverage. I do two check ins a day with lots of pictures, and am a quick responder to messages (my average response time is 6 min). My most consistent feedback is that i am very communicative and professional, and that owners feel secure and never worry about their pets well-being when they are with me! My mother was a vet tech and I grew up rescuing many animals, and continued that tradition into adulthood, so I have ample experience in a multitude of pet types and situations I work as a housekeeper around the Pittsburgh area from about 7am-3pm mon-thursday, so will not be available in the home or for potty breaks during those hours. The absolute longest I would leave a pet during a house-sitting is 8 hours on those days, but quite often it's only 4-6 hours that i am working. All other outings/errands would be less than four hours, tops, but usually only about an hour. I am comfortable with more or less any pet, from rodents to lizards and I am not squirmish about even the creepy crawlies and slithery noodles. I can and have given almost every kind of medication there is, including subcutaneous injections, and am comfortable doing so with care and compassion and confidence. I am clean, responsible, and trustworthy. I will only take jobs with a meet and greet beforehand, and you can get a feel for my vibe and professionalism at that time, but I am sure you will like me and feel comfortable having me in your home. As a housekeeper I am used to going into strangers homes and having a high level of integrity and care for their space and belongings. I also am very clean and fastidious. I keep things looking like I wasn't there as much as possible, and will clean litter boxes daily and change water bowls daily and do deep cleans of water fountains 1x a week. I work as a housekeeper from 7am-3pm mon-thursday around the greater Pittsburgh area. If you have multiple dogs who need round the clock supervision and you book me at least three weeks before the sitting start date, than we could work that out and I could block out my housekeeping schedule for that time and just be available for the sitting job (my rates will be increased in this situation as I am priced for my current availability, not constant care and being unable to make my normal wages during the sit). In clients homes I am respectful, clean, tidy, responsible and trustworthy. I mind my business and am not judgemental. I will spend lots of time loving and socializing your pets, and I set alarms and try to keep potty breaks frequent to avoid accidents and less stress.
“Kathleen was awesome! She met with me and my pup before our first booked date. She listened to my shpeal about my pup and didn’t mind my nervousness. I have a high-energy and high-needs dog who is not for everyone, but Katie brought her A-Game! My pup was so excited to see her every day after their initial meeting. When she needed to change the schedule, she was very communicative. We definitely want to book her again! - Finley, human to Maisie Moo the American Foxhound”

“This was my first time booking dog walking with Alaska and she has proven to be a total lifesaver with my high energy, medium sized, slightly stubborn bernedoodle baby. She is reliable, responsive, and accommodating. My pup looks forward their walks together and it’s evident how joyful she is to see Alaska. I hope to book with her often, as her schedule permits!”

“Richard walked our two dogs for the first time recently and the experience exceeded my expectations. Both are extra large dogs--80 and 130 pounds. Not easy customers (both react to deer, dogs, etc.), but he managed them very capably. He was very knowledgeable, timely, and attuned to the dogs needs, as well as agreeable to work with. Will definitely book him again.”

“Ericka was such a huge help and was so responsive. We look forward to working with her again when we are in Pittsburgh. Thank you so much for your help!”

“It was our first time using Rover and Lindsey was an excellent companion and dog walker for our pit bull mix! Her report after each visit was thorough and usually included an extra anecdote about their time together and great pictures! Lindsey very concerned and asked for our advice when our dog wasn't eating much food when we initially left. We appreciated her initiative. When there was a big rain storm and they couldn't walk outside, Lindsey spent the time playing with our dog inside and gave him the attention and exercise that he needed. Overall a great experience and highly recommend Lindsey!”

About: I have had dogs in my family since I was a young child. I now take care of my own dog, her name is Maple Syrup. Family members often ask me to care for their dogs as well which I love doing in my free time away from my daily job as a nurse:) I am currently an oncology nurse working three days a week. My schedule rotates between day shifts and night shifts. That leave me with four days of looking to fill my time with something I enjoy. I love spending time with my dog and would really enjoy taking the time to care for other pets! I have a small back yard and fairly quiet street within the community to walk our fur babies. I have my 8 month old puppy, Maple Syrup, to keep your dog company.
About: My girlfriend and I love taking care of dogs! We have a large layout in our apartment for dogs to run around in and explore, but we also have a side yard with a chain that the dog can explore as well! We have lots of treats and would love to host your dogs! My girlfriend and I are moving to Austin so my schedule is very flexible right now. I am working as an uber driver right now until our lease is up in a few months! We have a completely separate office room in our apartment that your dogs can stay in. We have a dog bed and area for them to sleep as well as plenty of treats! Also a chain outside for them to run around and play with the toys with have for them!
About: I limit the number of pets so they get personalized love and attention. From shy senior cats to high-energy puppies, I have had and worked with all ages and needs. I provide frequent updates catered to the owner’s request. I like to build trust through consistence and long-term relationships so your pet sees a familiar face and is happy. I am retiring from teaching and will have a part time work-from-home job and will have plenty of time for love and cuddles with your pets. I walk several times a day so your dog (or walking cat), gets plenty of exercise. I have a fenced in covered patio so they get plenty of fresh air! Again, I walk several times a day, have a park at the end of my road, I have a fenced in patio and there is a dog park within walking distance of my home. If they ride well in a car, I will take them to a big park for walks and dog park socialization. I have had dogs since I was born and cats all of my adult life. I have watched many animals for friends, families, neighbors, etc. I have had rabbits, turtles, fish, iguanas as well. I have a special place in my heart for animals.

About: I have taken care of dogs since I was a teenager for neighbors, friends and family. They have all been happy with my service provided. I am working full time but have flexibility in my full time schedule in case it is needed! I am available on the weekends anytime. I have 1 fur baby living at my apartment, we play with toys, go on walks and hangout together. I do have a crate in case anyone needs crated. However as of right now I am not offering a boarding service!
About: I’ve grown up surrounded by pets—especially dogs—my whole life. Everyone in my family has had pets, most of them large-breed dogs and cats, so caring for animals has always come naturally to me. I genuinely haven’t met a pet I didn’t like! I’ve cared for everything from energetic, shoe-chewing puppies to senior dogs needing a slower pace and extra love in their golden years. I’ve also provided pet sitting for families while they’re away for up to a week at a time. Since moving to Pittsburgh recently for work, I’ve been really missing my parents' dogs—a Golden Retriever and a German Shorthaired Pointer—so I’d love the chance to connect with yours. Whether it’s walking, playtime, or in-home sitting, I’ll treat your pup with the same love and care I’d give my own. Pet care fits really naturally into my weekly routine—I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and love being active. My schedule is flexible week to week, and I’m happy to work with you on timing that fits your needs. While there may be occasional stretches (1–2 weeks at a time) when I’m away for work, I always keep my availability updated so you know what to expect. When I’m in town, I can accommodate multiple drop-ins per day or even stay at your home and work remotely to keep your dog company throughout the day. While I’m not able to host pets in my own home due to apartment restrictions, I’m more than happy to care for your pet in their familiar environment. I’m extremely respectful of your space and routines, and I do my best to make sure your pup feels safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. Whether that means drop-ins, walks, or full-day care, I’ll follow your instructions closely and make sure your pet gets plenty of attention, affection, and activity. Communication is important to me too—I’ll keep you updated with messages, photos, and anything else you need to feel confident your pet is in good hands.
“100% would recommend Savannah! She was patient to with my dogs and pay attention to them based on their profile specifications. She also sent a lot of pics and made sure to keep me updated through the booked service which is a release and a huge plus!”

“Hannah was great with my dog Daisy. She walked her while I was away on vacation and maintained communication with me everyday. When it was too hot to walk the entire time, she played with Daisy and gave her snuggles inside. I definitely recommend her and will book again.”

“Sarah was a lifesaver when we had a small emergency and needed someone to walk our sweet pittie. They had a great walk and she left her at home tuckered out and ready for a rest!”

“I truly cannot express how grateful I am to have Kayla as my Rover Rockstar! Kayla consistently goes above and beyond every booking with excellent communication, compassion, and service to our three pets. Kayla also takes the time to upload thoughtful, candid moments of our animals, making my anxiety of leaving non existent. I couldn’t recommend Kayla enough! 11/10!”

“I’m really happy that I found Shelly- she was super easy to schedule with, she’s great with my dog, and she can power through hot afternoon walks. My dog is so much happier now that he gets to walk with her each afternoon.”

Mandie did very well with our really shy COVID-19 rescue pup! We hired her to walk him and take him around the neighborhood, so he can get experience with other people. She did very well with him. She also did a great job with Tasha, our Siberian Husky, who just loves a good walk around the park!
