“I rebooked with Lauren again due to my previous experience with her and she was great yet again! She was very attentive and loving to my kitties while I was gone for a while! She always made sure they had fresh litter, water, and fed on the dot of every check in! She applied medicine and cleaned up after my cats whether it was hairballs or them just making a mess! Thank you Lauren for making my kitties feel safe and comfortable and letting me go on a stress free vacation! Looking forward to booking with you again! :)”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs of all different sizes and personalities throughout my life, especially the last 6 years. Back home I have three dogs, including 2 Labrador retrievers and a chihuahua mix rescue. I used to dog sit for my neighbors every few months, typically for a week at a time. Now that I am at college at UA, I miss constantly being around dogs and I hope to fill that missing piece through Rover! I am great about exercising, feeding on time, and potty breaks. If you have any more questions feel free to ask! I’m currently working part-time, but will have plenty of time to check in on your pups :) My schedule is usually completely free during the day up until 4pm. I also get breaks at work and can stop in to let your furbaby out! I currently live in a spacious apartment with two of my best friends that also love dogs. We have a fenced-in dog park right next to our unit! It takes less than a minute walk from my door to the park.
About: I have taken care of pets for almost all my life as my family has had multiple pets. I am responsible and Red Cross certified in caretaking. I take two classes during the week but everything else is virtual. I have all the time in the world to give your pet and am also very proficient at training. I will follow all instructions given and am very responsible. I prefer to keep all living areas clean and will ensure the safety of all pets under my care.
About: I have a dog at home, Grissom, who is 5 years old. I have had him and trained him from a puppy. I also have years of experience with larger dogs as well. I work Monday - Friday 7:15-4:15. I would be available early mornings before that or evenings nights after. During the weekends I have flexible availability. I’m a dog parent with years of loving experience. I am a teacher by day, with time in the afternoons and evenings to spend loving on my dog and others.
“Landon was amazing with my dog snoopy. He stayed with him the whole time and gave him that last minute playtime/potty break. I’m grateful for the care he gave snoopy and I’ll definitely book again and recommend him. He was the best with my energetic pup.”

“I manage a TNR cat colony in my car port so I have both indoor and outdoor cats. Some of my cats were kept in separate rooms. Ms. Fetzer followed my instructions perfectly and did a fabulous job of taking care of my cats. I highly recommend her!”

About: Hello! My name is Melanie and I am currently a graduate student at UA! I have had pets for over 5 years now and I have grown up around animals my whole life. I have experience taking care of seniors, special needs pets, puppies, and kittens. Animals are everything to me and would love to make your pets feel comfortable if you need to be away for any given time! I currently have a dog and cat whom I both adore dearly. Feel free to contact me if interested in my services! I look forward to hearing from you I work part time, mostly at nights, so my availability is very open! I can do weekend mornings and all day during weekdays. My part time schedule changes so my availability may open up more depending the times I work! My dog has a crate that helps her feel like she has a little den to herself. Moose also has a harness she wears to keep her from pulling.
“Brie was excellent with Harley! She kept everything clean, made sure Harley used the bathroom, and played and got Harley’s energy out. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone who needs a dog sitter! Can’t wait to book with her again!”

“Leah was great, as usual! She took good care of the cats and even brought in a shipment for us and left the faucets dripping so the pipes wouldn't freeze. It's reassuring to have that extra peace of mind while out of town. Thanks!!”

About: My family and I grew up with 3 dogs of our own. I also foster dogs from local shelters and have hands on experience with everything from playful puppies to sweet seniors. I understand how important it is to have someone you trust with your pet, and I’m here to help with calm, dependable care. I’m currently a student at the University of Alabama with a light class load, just about 2 hours a day. This gives me plenty of flexibility to dedicate time to pet care, whether it’s walks, dropins, or extended stays. Being from Birmingham, I’m familiar with the area and love spending time with pets when I’m not in class Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or yours, their safety and comfort always come first. I follow any routines or instructions you provide and take time to get to know each pet’s personality and needs. I keep a calm, clean environment and never leave pets unattended during visits. You can count on me to treat your pets like my own with patience, attention, and respect.
“She was great! The animals are fed and happy. I have a cat as well as some less conventional pets, and all were well taken care of. Glad to find someone experienced with reptiles!”

About: I was raised with dogs all my life - big and small!! My parents have two adorable but crazy golden doodles named Harry and Penny! I grew up with two smaller dogs as well, a cockapoo and a multipoo (Charlie and Lola). I fostered a lovable pitty mix last spring semester of 2025 named Rambo. I love dogs and cats of all breeds, sizes and ages! I am a graduate student at the University of Alabama! I will be in Tuscaloosa full time, year round. I am in a clinical program as a marriage and family therapist in training, so my schedule can sometimes be scattered. I have a full client caseload, but I have daily availability just depending on the week. I always have a few hours open sprinkled throughout each day! As the summer progresses into June, I will have much more early and mid morning availability as well. I care for pets in the home by providing lots of cuddles and love!! I want to make sure each animal feels safe to trust me and I meet them at their level of comfort. Also depending on their activity levels and lifestyle, I want to be sure to give them the proper level of stimulation needed.
“Jake took such great care of my pets! He was able to handle my cat, senior dog and our puppies, was such a lifesaver while I was out of town. The pictures he took are so cute too, would definitely recommend Jake watching your pets, he treated them with a lot of care.”

I can’t say enough good things about Jennifer! She goes above and beyond, and even adding a last minute pet due to a boarding issue wasn’t a problem for her. She’s great at communicating and she takes great pictures. She had never met my GSD before her first visit but he took to her like an old friend. My animals were well cared for while I was away and I’m glad I found her

Mary Paige was great. We had some issues in the beginning because another person ghosted me so I was not able to introduce Millie to Mary Paige in person. Millie was a bit spooked because she did not know Mary Paige beforehand, but Mary Paige did an amazing job and I was able to finish my trip without worrying one bit. I would definitely use Mary Paige again!

Anna was very sweet and patient with our three animals. One dog was a bit hesitant the first day but Anna was incredibly patient and got the dog to love her. She stayed to play with the dogs even if it went over the 30 mins that we paid for. The pictures she sent were adorable and we will definitely use her for our next trip.

A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.
Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Northport stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Northport choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
To find sitters in Northport with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
