Jake took such great care of my pets! He was able to handle my cat, senior dog and our puppies, was such a lifesaver while I was out of town. The pictures he took are so cute too, would definitely recommend Jake watching your pets, he treated them with a lot of care.

About: I’ve helped teach my dogs at home and love on older dogs. I volunteer at the shelter all the time. I have had animals ever since I was little. I have a part time job and can work this in however needed! Whether it’s stopping by or staying around, I am willing to work with you! No matter where I am, animals are constantly being loved and cared for by me. I will make sure they’re fed, cared for, walked, played with, and whatever else is needed.

Anna was very sweet and patient with our three animals. One dog was a bit hesitant the first day but Anna was incredibly patient and got the dog to love her. She stayed to play with the dogs even if it went over the 30 mins that we paid for. The pictures she sent were adorable and we will definitely use her for our next trip.

About: I am a dependable and experienced pet sitter with over 8 years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of all sizes and personalities. As someone who has grown up with and owned dogs, I understand the importance of providing pets with consistent care, attention, exercise, and affection while their owners are away. In addition to caring for my own dogs, I have regularly pet sat for neighbors and teammates, helping with feeding, walking, playtime, administering basic care, and maintaining pets’ daily routines. I am comfortable working with both large and small breeds and understand that every dog has unique needs and energy levels. I am currently taking supplemental online courses and am working part-time remotely, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of time to care for and play with your fur babies throughout the day! I live on 3 acres of property, giving dogs plenty of space to explore, exercise, and enjoy the outdoors under supervision. While the yard is not fenced, I prioritize safety and can keep dogs leashed, closely monitored, or crated when needed. I make sure pets receive daily walks, regular playtime, and plenty of attention throughout the day. For dogs that enjoy being active, I also occasionally take them on hikes to provide additional exercise and enrichment. I understand the importance of maintaining a pet’s normal routine and will follow feeding schedules, exercise needs, medication instructions, and any special care requests provided by the owner. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I treat their home and pets with the utmost respect, ensuring pets remain comfortable in their familiar environment while receiving attentive care. My goal is always to make pets feel safe and happy while their owners are away.

She was very flexible with my last minute needs, her communication is top tier, and If there was ever a problem (my fault) she was good at letting me know. My puppy is a big fan of her per the daily photos I received. She has won me over as a repeat client and I look forward to taking another trip without the stress of worrying about my puppy’s needs. About: I’ve lived with dogs my whole life. I have had 3 golden doodles throughout my life, and my brother currently has a puppy that I help care for. I currently have two dogs at home and they are my best friends! I have also dog sat a good bit for dogs of all sizes. I am missing my dogs at college and would love to care for your dogs! I am a student at the University of Alabama, with classes from 11-3 Monday-Thursday. I am able to care for your pets most of the time outside of that window, including in the morning. I live in a house with three friends who are also big dog people. I am also able to drive to your house and provide care to your dogs there. I am flexible with timing and can make multiple visits a day.

About: Hello! I'm looking forward to spending some of my time caring for your pets while you're away! I am really inspired by Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary and one day I hope to open my own animal sanctuary, but Rover will have to do for now. I've always had at least one dog in my house growing up. Right now I have two dogs as well as cats in my home. I also have a fenced yard to offer supervised play time and potty breaks. I'd be more than happy to drop in and make sure your lil' kitty-kat is well fed, played with, and has a clean litter box OR even host them in my cat room (AKA a quiet bedroom reserved just for cats that my pups do not have access to). Special skills: house training, crate training, medication administration- liquid and capsule, walking multiple (big) dogs at the same time, supervised play and feeding, etc. **Full disclosure: I am not on Rover for this to be my source of income. I keep my rates low because I know how expensive it can be when looking for trusted animal care, especially when you have more than one animal in the home and need to be away for more than a night. I am just offering the quality of care I want given to my animals when I am away. Any questions? Let's talk! My schedule during the day is pretty flexible as I work from home full time. I am also free during the weekend. What kind of care are you looking for and what days do you have in mind? I do offer a fenced yard and calm, child-free day care and pet sitting for those with proof of vaccination. I live in a house with plenty of room to stretch out and get comfortable. I am also able to take your dogs on leashed walks on the river trail or around town. My schedule is pretty flexible, I work from home so I have lots of autonomy. I’m home most of the time so there’s constant supervision. I have a fenced yard and extra bedrooms to offer a quiet space if your pet prefers to be away from the pack. Otherwise, I allow the animals in the house to nap, roam, and play wherever they'd like. My dogs are pretty social, they get along well with others and enjoy the dog park. My cats are also used to being around dogs and are pretty relaxed about it.

About: Dog lover! I’ve been caring for dogs for about 3 years and it’s been very rewarding. I’m very friendly and caring, I love to cuddle and show affection towards all animals. I like parks and being outiside so your dog will have a lot of outdoor fun. I love the company dogs provide after a long day. I’m very careful and cautious when it comes to dog/human interactions. I am very aware that people can be afraid of dogs so I try to make sure that your pet will be in a dog friendly environment. I enjoy what I do and I plan to exceed your expectations when it comes to caring for your pet. I cannot wait to start loving and bonding with your dog. I work full time but have a flexible schedule. Usually home by 4pm. If your pet is at my home I like to stop by between 12pm-2pm for walks, potty break, and cuddles. I also have security to ensure safety while away. I live in a quiet community with plenty of yard space and sidewalks. If I am at your home I will make sure to follow all of you instructions thoroughly and leave it nice and clean.

About: I have over 20 years of hands-on experience caring for dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities. My experience includes working with the Humane Society, caring for my own four dogs, pet sitting for friends and families, and fostering puppies in need of a safe and loving home. Dogs have always been a big part of my life, and I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust with your pets. I’m comfortable with everything from energetic puppies who need plenty of playtime and attention to older dogs who may need a little extra patience and care. When your dog is with me, I’ll treat them like one of my own. I focus on keeping their normal routine, making sure they feel safe and comfortable, and giving them plenty of love, attention, exercise, and companionship while you’re away. Pet care is already a natural part of my everyday routine. With four dogs of my own, my days are built around feeding, walks, playtime, outdoor breaks, and plenty of attention and companionship. I’m used to planning my schedule around the needs of my pets and making sure they receive consistent care throughout the day. Because caring for animals is already such a big part of my daily life, adding pet sitting, walks, drop-in visits, or caring for another dog fits easily into my routine. I have the flexibility to provide dependable care during the week and on weekends, and I’ll always make sure your pet gets the time, attention, and love they deserve. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or in a client’s home, my goal is to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I follow each pet’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, potty breaks, playtime, medications when needed, and any special instructions provided by the owner. In my home, pets receive plenty of attention and are treated like part of the family. I carefully supervise interactions with my own dogs and make sure every pet has a comfortable and safe environment. In a client’s home, I’m respectful of both their pet and their home while providing dependable, attentive care. I understand that every pet has a different personality and different needs, so I adjust my care accordingly. With my years of experience caring for my own dogs, pet sitting, fostering puppies, and working with the Humane Society, I’m comfortable providing patient, loving care for a variety of pets.

About: I have grown up with dogs for my entire life and I now have a cat of my own. I have taken care of friends and families animals in the past and I am very reliable, caring, and friendly. Animals bring me so much joy and I treat any animal as if it were my own. I am working in a salon four days out of the week but I will be available in the mornings and the evenings of any day to provide attention to your pet. Given that I have a cat of my own, I know how angry and hurt I would be if I put her in the care of someone else and she was neglected. With that being said, you can trust that I will not put you in that position! Animals are innocent and unable to communicate their needs. Not only will I provide the essentials, I will go above and beyond to make sure your pet is happy and comfortable!

About: I’ve had pets in my home my entire life! Multiple dogs and at least one cat at a time. We have fostered many puppies and dogs some were medically fragile through our local humane society. As a child I learned how to be responsible for my pets and all their daily care. I am excited to meet your pets because I miss being around my own pets since I’m 4 hours from home and they are truly like one of our family members! I’m a full time student at the University of Alabama so I’m able to fit in pet care around my classes!! My classes are primarily in the morning!! I would communicate the pets needs with the owner to ensure I can provide the same care and attention they receive when their owner is at the home with them!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Tuscaloosa choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.

To find sitters in Tuscaloosa with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
