“Paul is the best dog walker I’ve ever had. He’s incredibly reliable: he answers messages promptly, is always on time for walks, and as a bonus, is a genuinely kind person. I have a 100lb. dog and Paul is able to walk him without issue, and can even wrangle him into his rain coat! I would trust Paul with caring for any animal. Before he leaves everyday, he fills up the water bowl and has never once forgotten. I truly cannot recommend Paul enough.”

“Nathan has been walking my dog, Obi, consistently 3 days per week for two weeks and has done a great job! He was patient with my initially skeptical dog and Obi has come to trust him and enjoys their walks! I recommend Nathan's services if you are looking for a dog walker or other support with your dog.”

“Elena was amazing with my dog! Not only was she sweet to Josie, but she was communicative, organized, and kind. It made my whole week better knowing that I didn’t have to worry about my dog. I’ll definitely rebook!!”

About: I've been a long-time cat-person who also has experience adopting a rescue dog and raising her from her puppy years to old age - I'm knowledgeable about training, medication administration, and handling reactive or nervous pets. I've been a pet sitter and house sitter for many years, and would love to support you and your family in your pet care needs. I'm an academic librarian new to NOVA with work from home flexibility. Over the month of December, I have extended time off for the holidays and will be staying in the area. I've been a pet and house sitter and feel confident about coming to your space and paying attention to the details that matter to keep your pet healthy, happy, and safe. I live in an apartment complex and have a cat myself, which I imagine folks will take into consideration in case they want to leave their pet with me.
“Charlotte was amazing and took good care of our Badger (1yr rat terrier) when she took her for two daily walks while we were out of town. She was very communicative the whole time and sent plenty of photos and gave us any updates. She also took the time to come meet us the week before so she could get acquainted with Badger and our place. I can’t recommend her enough!”

“Erin was phenomenal! She was available last minute which was a lifesaver. She was absolutely wonderful with my dog and gave a very detailed report which helped ease my anxiety.”

About: Hello! I am an early retiree who is excited to spend more time doing something I truly enjoy—caring for animals. As a lifetime pet owner, I understand pets are family members. My goal is to care for your pets with the same level of love and attention you provide them. I am exceptionally responsible and reliable, with great attention to details. You can count on regular updates and conscientious care tailored to your pet’s needs and routines. I enjoy spending time outdoors, taking walks, playing, and providing companionship. I will follow detailed instructions for feeding, medication, exercise, etc. so that your pet is comfortable and confident while you are away. I’ve taken care of my own pets—dogs and cats—since I was a teenager. My husband and I currently have two dogs. We fostered dogs and puppies during COVID, so I have recent experience taking care of puppies and animals that require a variety of medications. I am newly retired and can spend tons of time with your pets. I love hanging out, going for walks, and playing with all kinds of toys! All pets have different likes and dislikes. Let me know what schedule your pet is used to, and I’ll be happy to follow that routine so that they feel confident and loved. I have a lot of time for exercising your pet. I love walks and allow plenty of sniffing time. I can adapt to your pet’s sleep routine, whether that is crating or sleeping with their humans. Whatever makes them most comfortable.
“Matthew took great care of Ivy. She can be a little nervous around men but when they met he got on the floor with her and played with her toys which helped her warm up so quick. Very responsive and had no issues.”

About: Proud owner of an 11 year old pit mix named Bacon. I’ve taken care of pets since I was 5, raising a few wonderful dogs. They are welcome addition to my life regardless of age, breed or quirks (we know everyone has something!). I work nights, working between 3pm till late. I love short and long walks and would absolutely love to be your lunchtime walker! I’m happy to work anytime in the morning or afternoon. I know the importance of being a diligent care giver. I’ll be very supportive of your house rules to ensure a your pet has a stable environment to thrive.
“Adriana took care of our pups when we decided to take an impromptu trip out of the country! Her calm and warm demeanor made us feel totally at ease while abroad because we knew the gals were in the best of hands! She even left us the cutest note and Polaroids which will now be framed! Cannot wait to use her services again — she was truly a godsend.”

“Mounia was fantastic! Great communication throughout, lots of photos, and really patient with both me and my pup - which is especially appreciated since we just moved to the neighborhood. Will definitely book again!”

“Jessica is great! She has a good rapport with Franklin, is communicative, trustworthy and flexible. We will continue to work with her and recommend her to any other pet owners :)”

“Ilana has been walking our dog for about a year and has also hosted him overnight for a few days. We recently moved out of the neighborhood and will miss Ilana dearly! Our dog looked forward to seeing her every week and always comes back very happy from his walks with her. We are so grateful for Ilana and would recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter or walker.”

About: I have dogs and cats, and experience with all types from high energy to seniors! My sweet Australian cattle dog was reactive and high-energy, so I am familiar with training and walking those types of smart dogs. I also have a soft spot for seniors who want to move at their own pace and just want love and attention. I want to help make your life easier and make sure your pets are happy while you're away, I know how much that peace of mind matters when you're away from your babies! I work remote from home so my schedule is pretty flexible! I may have meetings during the week that I can't move, but if time off day for drop-ins or walks is flexible on your side, I can find a time that works. I'd prefer to always do a meet and greet first to know where everything is if I need it -- from leashes and toys to cleaning supplies and emergency contact and vet numbers.
“My husband and I just brought home our puppy. Sarah was incredibly kind in our adjustment with Emmy, including helping carry her down the stairs to potty (our building doesn’t have an elevator and Emmy is still learning to walk up and down steps because they have large openings in the stairs). Sarah provided wonderful notes and pictures to help us feel more at ease during our first days back to work while having Emmy.”

About: My dad and I run this Rover account together. We have a combined 20+ years of experience, caring for dogs. I love to snuggle with the dogs and my dad loves to take them to the park. We make a great team to care for your pet! This ensures that your pet is never alone and there’s always someone in my family caring for your dog! I am a current student and my dad works a hybrid schedule. He is home most days and I am home on the weekends. We work together as a team to make sure your pet is cared for. I am the one operating the Rover app and all communication with you and my dad is usually the one who is home who will greet you. Together, we provide the best care for your pet. We currently live in a 3 level home, have a fenced backyard, and a very walkable neighborhood. I can also crate your dog if you prefer.

We are so lucky that we met Abbey! She saved us last minute when our original dog walker fell through, now she’ll be our go to! She was very easy to communicate with and our dog just loved her. We don’t see him cuddle up next to many walkers like he did with her. Thank you for being awesome !

Robert was our walker for more than 3 years, and we never once had any issues with his service. In fact he frequently went above and beyond, offering to help monitor minor medical issues we were treating during his walks, placing packages inside our apartment when we weren't home to grab them during the day, and handling last minute emergency requests when they came up. Plus, both our pets adored him. 10/10, would recommend to anyone, and we are sad we can't keep him on now that we have moved.
Chelsea has been nothing short of wonderful. She has taken such great care of my baby boy Kayson with every walk and has been so kind and responsive. I’ve been so happy with her services and I can speak the same for Kayson- he appreciates his walks. 10/10 recommended.

Ann is an exceptional dog walker. I have an elderly dog and Ann was very attuned to how she was feeling, how much she wanted to walk, and just followed her lead. Ann is a great communicator, sending me numerous pictures and written updates after each walk (three times a day). She is organized, friendly, is great with dogs, and makes sure everyone is on the same page. She coordinated with my cousin where my dog was staying. Rosie was very happy and relaxed when I went to pick her up.

We’ve only been with Olivia for a week and I already feel like my boy is in the best hands. She’s so warm and caring with him. She keeps me updated with photos and little check-ins throughout the day, which means the world to a dog parent. So grateful we found her!
