About: I've been a long-time cat-person who also has experience adopting a rescue dog and raising her from her puppy years to old age - I'm knowledgeable about training, medication administration, and handling reactive or nervous pets. I've been a pet sitter and house sitter for many years, and would love to support you and your family in your pet care needs. I'm an academic librarian new to NOVA with work from home flexibility. Over the month of December, I have extended time off for the holidays and will be staying in the area. I've been a pet and house sitter and feel confident about coming to your space and paying attention to the details that matter to keep your pet healthy, happy, and safe. I live in an apartment complex and have a cat myself, which I imagine folks will take into consideration in case they want to leave their pet with me.

About: I’ve been caring for dogs from a young age, starting with my sweet Golden Retriever, Haley, and helping care for dogs throughout my neighborhood. Dogs have continued to be a big part of my life, both personally and professionally. I’m trained as a facility dog handler, working alongside a dog whose calm presence brings comfort to others, and I’m also the proud owner of a pretty anxious pup who has taught me so much about patience, boundaries, communication, and recognizing individual needs. These experiences have given me a strong understanding of dog body language and the importance of helping each dog feel safe and comfortable. I know not every dog will greet a new person with a wagging tail right away - and that’s completely okay! I’m happy to give them the time and space they need to build trust at their own pace. Whether your pup is playful and energetic, shy and nervous, or somewhere in between, I’ll meet them where they are and provide plenty of patience, attention, and TLC. My goal is for your pet to feel safe, happy, and cared for, and for you to have peace of mind while you’re away. I currently work a full-time position, which leaves weekends and Mondays available; however, I would be willing to do a drop-in visit later in the evenings (~7pm-9pm) for clients in the northern Virginia area. Because my own dog is still hesitant around new people and pups, I currently provide care exclusively in my clients’ homes. I love that this allows pets to stay in their own familiar environment and maintain their normal routines while you’re away. I’ll always follow the care instructions and preferences you provide, because you know your pet best! I take the time to understand their routines, boundaries, and individual needs so I can provide care that feels comfortable, consistent, and safe. I work from home 4 days a week and depending on my meeting schedule am available for mid-day short walks or drop-ins. Always happy to discuss timing that works for everyone. About: I’ve been a dog sitter for friends and family for over 7 years. I love dog walking and giving dogs the opportunity to sniff and play during their time outside. I also am a cat mom and cat whisperer. My family has 5 cats and I have 1 so I am very well versed in understanding cat body language and boundaries. About: I’ve been with dogs my whole life, from Huskies to now a Wiener dog. I work fully remote from home so I’ll constantly be able to keep attention to the dog and provide frequent potty breaks. I also do daily walks with my dog during break time and in the afternoon. About: My whole life, I looked after my dog until we sadly had to put her down. She was very active even when she got older, she loved walks, treats and lots of cuddles. I truly believe dogs are mans best friends. I'm extremely active and love playing with dogs and running around. They're so incredibly pure and sweet. I have a little more experience with senior dogs, as I was a little older when my dog herself became a senior, but I still have experience with jumpy puppies as well, as I've made many friends over the years with puppies as well as senior dogs. I'm currently unemployed because I recently graduated high school. My daily schedule is completely free. I just need notice of the time and day in advance, at least 1-2 days prior, as I like to plan out my day and make sure I can arrive on time to care for your pets. Whether I am at my home or others' homes, I do my absolute best to follow any instructions provided by the owner, whether it's medication needed for their dog, their food schedule, crate necessity, or simply commands they follow. I follow any strict rules and boundaries you may have so that both you and your dog feel safe and comfortable. Although my home doesn't have a backyard, there are lots of parks within walking distance. In addition, I love walking and being outdoors just like your fur babies. Whether a dog needs more activity and play or simply love and cuddles, I'm here for them! During the summer especially I carry water and a bowl with me to keep your baby cool, as well as treats only if allowed by the owner, of course! Additionally communication and updates are super important to me, I'll always send updates, photos and any concerns I may have about your pets!
