About: I've been a long-time cat-person who also has experience adopting a rescue dog and raising her from her puppy years to old age - I'm knowledgeable about training, medication administration, and handling reactive or nervous pets. I've been a pet sitter and house sitter for many years, and would love to support you and your family in your pet care needs. I'm an academic librarian new to NOVA with work from home flexibility. Over the month of December, I have extended time off for the holidays and will be staying in the area. I've been a pet and house sitter and feel confident about coming to your space and paying attention to the details that matter to keep your pet healthy, happy, and safe. I live in an apartment complex and have a cat myself, which I imagine folks will take into consideration in case they want to leave their pet with me.
“Carolina is great! She communicates well and does a great job communicating. My partner has been deployed the past year and I couldn’t have done it without her.”

About: I have dogs and cats, and experience with all types from high energy to seniors! My sweet Australian cattle dog was reactive and high-energy, so I am familiar with training and walking those types of smart dogs. I also have a soft spot for seniors who want to move at their own pace and just want love and attention. I want to help make your life easier and make sure your pets are happy while you're away, I know how much that peace of mind matters when you're away from your babies! I work remote from home so my schedule is pretty flexible! I may have meetings during the week that I can't move, but if time off day for drop-ins or walks is flexible on your side, I can find a time that works. I'd prefer to always do a meet and greet first to know where everything is if I need it -- from leashes and toys to cleaning supplies and emergency contact and vet numbers.
About: 30 years of experience raising, sitting, and living with dogs and cats in all phases of their lives. My husband and I had our own two dogs for 14 years and are excited to be “aunts and uncles” to others’ pets until we get our own again. I currently work remotely and am very active during the day. Hoping to add a furry friend to the mix so I don’t have to walk alone. Can also pay home visits to care for them as you need. I will respect your home as if it were my own, adhering to any specific security, sanitization, and pet-specific requirements. Your home will be left exactly as I found it.
“Randy is an incredible dog sitter. He is communicative, timely, thoughtful, and just all around an asset to the Rover community. He sends plenty of pictures and updates and is incredibly patient with our Golden Retriever puppy, Frankie. I can’t recommend Randy enough!”

“Laura was fantastic! Quick responses, clear communication, and super patient with my energetic - and sometimes mischievous - lab mix pup. Will definitely book again!”

“Cait took such great care of my dog, Zelda. I had long work hours and I felt relieved knowing Zelda was getting great mental and physical exercise with Cait! She provided thoughtful updates and checked in on any additional needs for my pup. I can't thank her enough!”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs from a young age, starting with my sweet Golden Retriever, Haley, and helping care for dogs throughout my neighborhood. Dogs have continued to be a big part of my life, both personally and professionally. I’m trained as a facility dog handler, working alongside a dog whose calm presence brings comfort to others, and I’m also the proud owner of a pretty anxious pup who has taught me so much about patience, boundaries, communication, and recognizing individual needs. These experiences have given me a strong understanding of dog body language and the importance of helping each dog feel safe and comfortable. I know not every dog will greet a new person with a wagging tail right away - and that’s completely okay! I’m happy to give them the time and space they need to build trust at their own pace. Whether your pup is playful and energetic, shy and nervous, or somewhere in between, I’ll meet them where they are and provide plenty of patience, attention, and TLC. My goal is for your pet to feel safe, happy, and cared for, and for you to have peace of mind while you’re away. I currently work a full-time position, which leaves weekends and Mondays available; however, I would be willing to do a drop-in visit later in the evenings (~7pm-9pm) for clients in the northern Virginia area. Because my own dog is still hesitant around new people and pups, I currently provide care exclusively in my clients’ homes. I love that this allows pets to stay in their own familiar environment and maintain their normal routines while you’re away. I’ll always follow the care instructions and preferences you provide, because you know your pet best! I take the time to understand their routines, boundaries, and individual needs so I can provide care that feels comfortable, consistent, and safe. Building trust is especially important to me, and I’ll always respect your pet’s pace and personality.
“Mounia was fantastic! Great communication throughout, lots of photos, and really patient with both me and my pup - which is especially appreciated since we just moved to the neighborhood. Will definitely book again!”

“Bailey was great with my dog Trinity this past week. She was punctual and a very good communicator with great pictures. I hate being away from my dog and Bailey created a quick rapport and trust in Rover!”

“Jackson always does a wonderful job with my dog. He is a trustworthy person and truly a dog lover. I couldn’t ask for a better walker to walk my dog. Thank you so much Jackson!”

“Ilana has been walking our dog for about a year and has also hosted him overnight for a few days. We recently moved out of the neighborhood and will miss Ilana dearly! Our dog looked forward to seeing her every week and always comes back very happy from his walks with her. We are so grateful for Ilana and would recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter or walker.”

“Nathan has been walking my dog, Obi, consistently 3 days per week for two weeks and has done a great job! He was patient with my initially skeptical dog and Obi has come to trust him and enjoys their walks! I recommend Nathan's services if you are looking for a dog walker or other support with your dog.”

“Jessica is great! She has a good rapport with Franklin, is communicative, trustworthy and flexible. We will continue to work with her and recommend her to any other pet owners :)”

“Thomas is awesome! I have used his services multiple times and he is great. He is flexible when needed and very communicative throughout the service. My dog adores him!”

“Hilary was great with our pug! She was reliable and provided updates and was even able to get our girl back in her crate after her walk, when she can be a bit stubborn. She was communicative and made booking and everything easy! Will definitely book Hilary again!”

Laura just started walking Echo a couple times a week and she's been great!! She has sent a bunch of pictures and Echo looks so happy, and she was happy to just stay and keep her company for awhile when Echo didn't feel like walking far because of the heat. Very communicative and prompt with responses; I'm excited for her to keep walking Echo!

Sonya was very patient and persistent when my dog didn't want to go on his walk. She knew it was important for him to go on a potty break and stayed until the job was done. I appreciate that she was very communicative and sent many pictures. She did a great job and I would recommend her to anyone!

Autumn was great with Cooper! He looked forward to her walks every day and she took amazing care of him and our home. We appreciated how attentive she was to Cooper and it was clear how much she cared about him and made sure that he was happy and communicated with us clearly each day. We will always reach out to Autumn first when we need a walker/sitter!

Kaitlyn is amazing! My first time booking with Rover was with Kaitlyn and she really made a great impression. She was very flexible with adding on walks, meeting with me and pup prior to my trip, and she went above and beyond helping with giving my cat her meds as well! My pets absolutely love her and I’m so grateful for her assistance while I was gone. I definitely recommend!

Kadyah was wonderful with Dakota! This was our first time booking with her, and she was communicative, reliable, and took great care of her. I felt completely comfortable knowing Dakota was in good hands, and she seemed so happy with her. I would absolutely book with Kadyah again and highly recommend her!
