“We needed help with our pets very last minute and she was so accommodating and happy to help us out! Fantastic communication and lots of pictures of our babies, we will definitely be reaching out to her again next time we leave town!”

“John was great very communicative, attentive, and punctual with Bella. This was my first experience using a sitter outside of my family, and I must say I was really happy to have found him. He made the entire process comfortable and stress-free, and I would absolutely recommend him as a sitter.”

“I left my puppy for the weekend for the first time so I was a bit nervous on how she’d do, but she did great! The sitter was good at updating and sending photos and making sure I knew Peppa was fine! She looked very happy in all the photos she sent :) I 10/10 recommend and I’ll 100% use her service in the future again”

“Judy was a Godsend to both my precious 15 year old baby boy, and me. I was out of the state working for 9 days and she stayed with him 24-7. He instantly fell in love with her and she took excellent care of him. I also never had any concerns of her having full access to my house - she is just a wonderful person that you can trust & depend on. I would highly, highly recommend her. You will not be disappointed.”

“Julie is a wonderful addition to our pups family. She kept us updated throughout our trip with notes and photos clearly showing passion for her love and care of our babies. Our home was neat and tidy upon return as well. I recommend Julie with absolute confidence!!!”

“Sophia was so amazing. She kept us updated about my Onyx. Sent pics and videos! When he was sick she prepared a special meal to get him over the hump. We will for sure use her again!!!”

“She took great care of our dogs and cat while we were gone. She updated us frequently throughout her time with our pets and was very easy to communicate with. Would highly recommend!”

“Larisa was EXCEPTIONAL! She stayed at my home with my dogs (3 of them). She played outside with them everyday and was in constant contact with me. My dogs are very spoiled and usually take days to warm up to someone. They were her best friends within hours of me leaving. She really went above and beyond. They were sad to see her leave and waited at the door to see if she would come back. I will definitely be using Larisa again. My only issue is my dogs love her too much 😂 especially my border collie who got more playtime in the 5 days I was gone than see normally does in a month! Very attentive and loving pet sitter.”

“Valeria was the best at watching my two Belgian Malinois. She went above and beyond at keeping them stimulated and cleaning up after them. They loved her! She can definitely handle all types of dogs of different difficulty, so don’t worry! Thank you so much!”

“OMG, Bethany is amazing. First, she read the instructions and asked really good questions. Throughout her stay, she kept me up to date, spoiled my dog with double walks, and even gave Buddy a bath. Buddy was calm and content when I got home. I wish I could go another trip so Bethany could dog sit again.”

“This was our second house and pet sitting stay with Kelliann. We have a pack of 4 and she was wonderful with all our dogs. From our 14 year old lab to our pack 3-rowdy 2 year olds. They all love her and we feel so safe with her at our home looking after our pups! It has given us the freedom to travel and visit friends and family. We are so glad we found Kelliann!”
“This weekend Carolina stayed with my pets for the first time and I’m very pleased with the outcome. I travel quite a bit, but was apprehensive to trust a new sitter with my pets after my previous sitter (which started off good) left a Very bad taste in my mouth and has made it difficult for me to warm up to the idea again. But Carolina was very communicative, and her regular updates kept me from feeling anxious about the new arrangement. She made a concerted effort to make my pets feel at ease and comfortable, and sticking with their usual routines. (One of my cats is especially frightful. He’s a rescue and has found it difficult to trust most humans. He’s occasionally even still skittish around me. But she took her time with him and coaxed away his fears). Additionally, Carolina was very respectful of my home - stripped the bed, collected sheets /towels for laundry, ran the dishwasher, etc. Exactly how you would want your home treated while you’re away. I would absolutely recommend Carolina, and definitely intend to work with her again in the future.”

“Terri was great with my dog Bunny who has a history of abuse and has anxiety especially new people. She really took the time to spend time with her and make her more comfortable.”
“Anna was very proactive and kind. She was extremely professional and made sure to take the time for a meet and greet, even though I reached out just a few days before needing her services. She was also so sweet with Frankie.”

“Cecilia was amazing with my girls! I was skeptical about having someone I didn’t know watching my girls, or stay in my home while I was away. When I met Cecilia in person, my worries immediately disappeared. Cecilia exceeded my expectations. I was able to relax while away and not worry about my girls. I was greeted every morning and throughout the day with pictures and videos of my girls, and she took wonderful care of my home. I will definitely be utilizing Cecilia’s services again!!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - North Houston
We could not be happier with the care Tuxie received. Throughout the entire stay Olivia provided frequent updates, photos, and videos, which gave us tremendous peace of mind. She took the time to learn Tuxie’s personality, routines, and quirks, and it was obvious he felt comfortable, happy, and loved in her care. What impressed us most was her attentiveness and judgment. Whether it was monitoring his toys for safety, reinforcing his training, keeping him active and engaged, or simply making sure he was having fun, she consistently went above and beyond. Tuxie looked relaxed, confident, and completely at home. Finding someone you trust with your dog is not easy, and we feel incredibly fortunate to have found her. We would not hesitate to book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, responsible, communicative, and truly exceptional sitter. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of our little Tuxie. 🖤🐾

Sophia is amazing! She was very communicative throughout her stay and took very good care of two dogs. She was able to get our boy, Orbit to eat as he usually goes on a food strike when things are out his routine. Sofia is absolutely trustworthy and reliable. We look forward to booking her again soon!

Mary is amazing! We are so grateful to have found her. Our pets are family and we have had a longtime pet/house sitter we loved who has moved out of the area. We were a bit anxious about finding a new pet/house sitter but Mary put our fears at ease. Right off the bat Mary was professional and made the process seamless. She is everything we were hoping for. She was very nurturing and considerate with our dogs and house. Honestly I don't want to write this review as we want Mary all to ourselves but the right thing to do is share the love.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred North Houston walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in North Houston maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in North Houston choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
