“I’m so grateful that Avani was able to take my last minute request to walk our pups!! She did a great job, the dogs loved her, and she even handled them in the rain. We will be reaching out to her again before she goes back to school.”

“Kylie was great and my babies immediately loved her. Very professional and thorough. I have one pup that has anxiety and takes awhile to warm up. She too to Kylie immediately. Will definitely book again!”

About: I have cared for multiple of my own cats since age 8. Along with this feline expertise, I love dogs and am dedicated to learning your pet’s needed care. I can feed, play, walk, clean after, and medicate. I am a part-time student on summer break, so I am virtually completely free to care for your furry companions! I am open to mornings, afternoons, and evenings. If a strong relationship is built with you and your pet, overnight care may be an option! During the school year, I am unavailable Tuesdays and Thursdays. I am accustomed to preventing pets from escaping homes and yards, as well as keeping harmful and messy items away. I am experienced with many different personalities to ensure animals feel safe and trusting.
About: I have been taking care of pets for family members and friends for over 5 years now. It started when a friend had an emergency out of town and needed help. It was a pleasure to sit in and feed, play, and send goofy pictures of my friend’s dog to provide ease and comfort during a hard time. I work full time and that means my cats are fed on a routine. They require a special diet that requires portioned meals and time to play. I have an active pet cam that I am able to use to talk to them when I am not home to provide comfort and time dispensers for treats. I will abide by your routine and follow directive on when to feed, when to walk, and when to provide or administer medication. Only you know your companion best and in order to provide safety and structure, as your care-taker it would be a privilege to honor your schedule and routine.

“Excellent tentativeness to my dog and adjustment to his strength and walking patterns. I would love to keep them on my payroll a few times a week if possible thank you again y’all stay blessed.”
About: I’ve been talking care of my own little dog for over 6 years and would also like to give your little one(s) the same attention, care and playfulness I give to mine. I’m currently staying home looking after my baby and will have plenty of time to give your baby all the attention and play inside or outside. I have a fenced backyard and a little one to keep your little one company. I can also keep your little one kenneled if it is preferable.

“This was my first time with a dog walker she was amazing my dog is very skittish so she takes a minute to warm up to people. Bethany immediately saw that and didn’t rush her until she felt comfortable was the best”

“Isabel is a wonderful dog walker. She has been coming by once a week for a few months to let my dog Benjamin out and take him for a stroll while we are at work. I love seeing Bennie get so excited to see her on camera when she comes in to let them out. She also is very communicative and lets me know when she’s on her way. Thank you for loving and caring for my baby! You’re the best!”

“So my dogs have personalities and they won't let just allow anyone to walk with them. Gladys dropped by a day before the first walk, from there things went well, Gladys was on time and kept me up to date with texts and photos.”

About: I have hands-on experience caring for pets, including recently house-sitting and taking care of a friend’s dog full-time for 3 weeks. During that time, I managed daily feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and made sure the dog felt comfortable and happy while their owner was away. I am detail-oriented, reliable, and passionate about giving pets the high-quality care, attention, and affection they deserve. My schedule offers a wide flexibility for daily check-ins, dog walking, and overnight house-sitting. I prioritize clear communication and structure, ensuring I build pet care right into my daily routine so your pet never misses a walk, mealtime, or potty break. I’m happy to coordinate around your pet's specific routine and needs. Safety and peace of mind are my top priorities. With strong attention to detail, I make sure entryways and yards are secure, follow all feeding and medication instructions precisely, and keep a clean environment. I always provide regular updates and photo check-ins so you know your pet is safe, relaxed, and well cared for.

“I’m watching my son’s big dog, the walks he deserves were taking a physical toll, until I signed up here and Alanna started walking him, it really helps MY day. He looks forward to his walk, watching the clock semi patiently, for his daily walk, it’s his favorite time of day and he really enjoys Alanna taking him out for a more brisk walk than I am capable of. She does a great job with him, and he is very happy with their time together.”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
