Absolutely incredible! Managing a high-strung Boxer and a Plott Hound at the same time takes serious skill, but Marcelina handled them like an absolute pro. My Boxer’s intense energy and my Plott Hound’s strong nose can make walks a chaotic handful, but they both came home completely wiped out, calm, and happy. Marcelins was completely unfazed by their high energy and kept them safely focused the whole time. I will definitely be booking again—highly recommend to anyone with high-energy or working breeds!"

Took excellent care of my pup, we weren’t able to do a meet and greet due to weather, but Jennifer was still able to come, easily found my place, and quickly made friends with my pup who is sometimes shy. He took to Jennifer instantly, and they had a great few walks, will definitely be booking again. 5 Stars!

Wow! We are blown away by the amazing experience we had with Valerie & Bruce. My family and I are experiencing some medical issues; that make it hard to walk our Lab, Cotton, as often as we'd like. Valerie and Bruce went above an beyond. They consistently worked with us on schedule changes (throughout an entire 2 months). The were kind and sympathetic to our situation. The communication was excellent. The icing on cake: Cotton enjoyed his time with Valerie and Bruce and was excited to see them for each one of his walks. We can not say thank you enough. Highly recommended!!!

About: I've loved and mothered as many animals as would let me for as long as I can remember. I've been the owner of multiple dogs and cats, always helping others with their pets as well. Always the caretaker & growing up around animals & vet techs, I've rescued baby kittens, puppies and birds anytime I found them. I would (with the help of adults) find fosters, professionals or forever homes depending on the need. Animals & nature are my core peace. Living with my grandmother over the years, she always had mutitudes of pets and wildlife and I loved to be involved. I've had one on one interactions throughout my life with a multitude of animals well beyond dogs and cats (such as apider monkeys, marsupials, elephants, baby baboons, ferrets and snakes) & have found I love them all! As pets I've had I've had cats, dogs, fish, mice, guinea pigs and even helped foster back to health an injured golden owl as a child. All in all, I find joy in interacting with virtually all animals and would love the opportunity to assist in giving love and care to others pets! I'm a married 52 year old woman with a husband, 20 year old and 3 cats at home. (While surprisingly my husband is a 'cat' person, I love all pets!) I was recently became unemployed as well as being the managing/primary caretaker for my husband & his cancer battle of 7 years, missing much work for his medical appointments & transplants. This change however allows me more flexibility and independence to manage schedules and in short time to further my education. Helping with animals gives me a wanted and needed purpose beyond my home, allows time with animals, a source of joy & a calm for me and with less 'work' stress. I would love to meet you & your pets, get to know them and assist with their care any way I can! I will accommodate as requested for pet care and routines agreed upon. I know that all pets enjoy routine and it helps to keep them calm and happy when that is kept as best as possible. I try to keep a calm volume even with excitement in the tone. Animals pick up on what we put out from moods to tones and they always read body language. In due respect, so do I. Being aware of temperatures, whether they may need shoes for foot protection, a jacket for warmth or to be held when it's thundering - being aware of an animals reactions to their surroundings and people is of the upmost importance, whether outside on a walk or inside the home. My goal is to always provide a calming and fun experience for pets, making them feel safe, secure, taken care of and loved, while putting the owner at ease that their baby is in experienced, responsible and loving hands.

About: I have owned and cared for many pets since I was young. Provided friends, family, and neighbors with loving pet care! I love all animals as if they were my own and strongly value building trust with your pets. I am also experienced caring for animals with medical needs. I understand it can be hard to trust sensitive care with others, but know your pets safety and well-being will always be my top priority. I am currently a stay at home cat mom and an artist with a very flexible schedule, and a lot of free time to make sure your pets are cared for. For drop-ins, I check food and water levels. I can take dogs on walks, clean litter boxes, provide medication, and basic grooming + more as requested! And of course lots of play time and love! I will also respect your home and follow your instructions/requirements.

About: I’ve taken care of family and neighbor dogs for a while. I’ve owned pets all my life and have worked at a professional facility for dog boarding and daycare for a while. I’m capable of working with large dogs, senior pets, and I can handle energetic fur babies as well. I can administer medication if needed, and can keep puppies and kittens entertained. I have plenty of time right now to care for pups, and will still have plenty of time when school starts. I’m very flexible and tend to be very easy to reach. I have my own fur baby, who’s a senior now. I keep her on a good schedule and make sure she gets plenty of walks. I am willing and able to take care of fur babies of all ages.

About: Hey there ! My name is Maxine and I am a lifelong animal lover and proud mom of two sweet toy poodles. I’ve spent over 6 years caring for pets and 3 years in dog breeding, so I truly understand the patience, love, and attention every furry friend needs. Along with dogs, I’ve also cared for two cats while working as a nanny — keeping their litter boxes clean and refilling food and water. Whether your pet loves long walks, playtime, or just quiet company, I’ll make sure they feel safe, loved, and right at home while you’re away. Your pets will be treated like my own! ❤️🐶🐱 Pet care easily fits into my daily and weekly routine because I have a flexible job that allows me to create my own hours. This means I can plan my schedule around your pet’s needs — whether that’s early morning walks or midday check-ins. I’m available any day of the week and make it a priority to be there when your furry friend needs me most. Having this flexibility allows me to give each pet the attention they deserve, without ever feeling rushed. Your pet’s comfort and happiness are always at the top of my list! As your pet sitter, I follow all routines you provide, such as feeding times and walks, playtime and bedtime. Safety is always my top priority, so I keep doors securely closed, monitor for any potential hazards, and double-check that your pet always has fresh water and their place is cozy enough to rest. I also keep open communication with regular photo and text updates, so you can feel completely confident that your furry loved one is in caring, trustworthy hands.

Melissa did a fantastic job walking my two older dogs while we were on vacation and our dogs were home with my mother in law. She is very attentive to the dogs and sent me a lovely write up on how each walk went with pictures which was great. She even spent some time with our puppy who didn't go on the walks. My dogs adore her and were excited to see her on walk days. I would definitely recommend Melissa and I will reach out to her in the future as the need arises for sure. Thanks a million Melissa!

  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
