“Marcelina is amazing! She watched two of my puppies. One a larger breed that has epilepsy and I’m usually afraid to leave because I don’t know if someone will make him feel as comfortable as I do. Giving him his meds on time and feeding him properly is very important. And she treated him exactly as I would! My smaller puppy she was also able to watch at the same time! She sent pictures and made me feel so comfortable. I appreciate her so much. Most of us know how hard it is to find someone we can trust while we’re away. I was to be gone for two nights while she watched my fur babies! Book her she’s wonderful!”

About: At the young age of 10 I started gaining experience in dog sitting, daycare, and taking animals on walks. I know the importance of communicating with pet parents as well my experience of ensuring animal safety, going to the vet, and specific diets. My sister has a pet business and I worked with her for a long time to gain more knowledge and experience hands on. I have a lot of experience with different sizes and breeds of dogs including grooming or pet-handling. Currently I am in school for drone operations and have a good amount of time to watch, love on, and enjoy taking care of your fur baby💗 For my clients no matter the service I provide photo and video updates, knowing how it feels to leave my furbaby with another person than me or my fiancé. I also keep my phone nearby so that I am able to quickly respond to any text or calls I may receive.
“This was the first time that David house/dog sat for us, he is great to work with and my doggies loved him. I am already booked for a second longer stay with David and Olán to use him for other future house/dog sitting stays.”

“Overall, I am VERY happy with Kahealani. She kept us updated throughout the stay, sent plenty of pictures, and even handled an issue with the neighbors dog who learned (or maybe it was our dogs who learned) to operate the latch on the gate between our yards and decided to come over for a swim. We have not had the best luck finding a pet sitter, but I am pretty sure we found someone in Kahaelani that took care of our babies in a way that made us feel happy. For the first time in a while, we did not have to worry about our puppies while we were gone, we knew they were in GREAT hands. I will be sending her name to a couple of my neighbors who are looking for a sitter for their dogs. She was GREAT and I cannot wait to use her services again, and I know my puppies can't wait!!!”

“Jenna was excellent and we would definitely have her back to care for our animals. Her communication was top notch! Jenna went above and beyond when our dog got sick on the last day and she had to clean up quite a mess. Not only did she take a crate outside to wash, she also washed two of our three dogs as well. Highly recommend !”

About: I genuinely love animals and know how important it is to have someone you can trust caring for them when you can’t be there. I’m dependable, attentive, and will take the time to learn your pet’s personality, routine, and little quirks. Whether it’s walks, playtime, meals, or just some extra company and love, I’ll treat your pet like I’d want someone to treat my own. And you can count on plenty of updates and pictures along the way! 🐾 I work from home and have a flexible schedule, so pet care fits naturally into my day. I start most mornings with a walk with my own pup and am available throughout the day for walks, potty breaks, playtime, or check-ins. Working from home gives me the flexibility to work around your pet’s routine and make sure they get plenty of attention and care. I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet and your home. I’ll always follow your pet’s normal routine and instructions, and I’ll be respectful of your space and make sure everything is secure. At home, I have a 3-year-old Boxer/Australian Shepherd mix and a 9-year-old daughter, so safety and compatibility are very important to me. We have a fenced yard for plenty of outdoor time and a great dog park nearby for pups who enjoy it. Before welcoming any pet into our home, I’ll want us to meet first to make sure everyone is comfortable and it’s a good fit. Whether I’m caring for your pet in your home or mine, they’ll get plenty of attention and love, and I’ll keep you updated with pictures and check-ins along the way.
“Amanda was great I appreciate her communication updates throughout the time her watching my cat Marassa. She sent regular photos without me asking and followed all my instructions. I’d definitely use her again”

“Thomas treated our pets like his own! He communicated very well and kept us informed on everything at home while we were away. He watched our pool and watered our plants, We will definitely use him again!”

“Bethany was amazing and stayed at our home with our dog so he was comfortable. Communication was great and she sent pictures every day so we knew he was safe and happy! She left out home clean and was so sweet and loving with our dog. I would definitely use Bethany again for our next vacation!”

About: I've loved and mothered as many animals as would let me for as long as I can remember. I've been the owner of multiple dogs and cats, always helping others with their pets as well. Always the caretaker & growing up around animals & vet techs, I've rescued baby kittens, puppies and birds anytime I found them. I would (with the help of adults) find fosters, professionals or forever homes depending on the need. Animals & nature are my core peace. Living with my grandmother over the years, she always had mutitudes of pets and wildlife and I loved to be involved. I've had one on one interactions throughout my life with a multitude of animals well beyond dogs and cats (such as apider monkeys, marsupials, elephants, baby baboons, ferrets and snakes) & have found I love them all! As pets I've had I've had cats, dogs, fish, mice, guinea pigs and even helped foster back to health an injured golden owl as a child. All in all, I find joy in interacting with virtually all animals and would love the opportunity to assist in giving love and care to others pets! I'm a married 52 year old woman with a husband, 20 year old and 3 cats at home. (While surprisingly my husband is a 'cat' person, I love all pets!) I was recently became unemployed as well as being the managing/primary caretaker for my husband & his cancer battle of 7 years, missing much work for his medical appointments & transplants. This change however allows me more flexibility and independence to manage schedules and in short time to further my education. Helping with animals gives me a wanted and needed purpose beyond my home, allows time with animals, a source of joy & a calm for me and with less 'work' stress. I would love to meet you & your pets, get to know them and assist with their care any way I can! I will accommodate as requested for pet care and routines agreed upon. I know that all pets enjoy routine and it helps to keep them calm and happy when that is kept as best as possible. I try to keep a calm volume even with excitement in the tone. Animals pick up on what we put out from moods to tones and they always read body language. In due respect, so do I. Being aware of temperatures, whether they may need shoes for foot protection, a jacket for warmth or to be held when it's thundering - being aware of an animals reactions to their surroundings and people is of the upmost importance, whether outside on a walk or inside the home. My goal is to always provide a calming and fun experience for pets, making them feel safe, secure, taken care of and loved, while putting the owner at ease that their baby is in experienced, responsible and loving hands.

About: Hello I’m Anya I have experienced taking care of medium to large dogs. I’ve taken care of elderly dogs, puppies and really new aged dog. “Maida took excellent care of our boy while we were out for the evening. She came over for a meet and greet prior and asked questions on how to best care for Smokey. She arrived right on time and sent pictures and updates. 10/10 recommend!”

“Claudia is always amazing, conscientious, dependable, and terrific to our zoo. She goes above and beyond, without having to be asked to do something, she just sees it and does it. Marcelina house sat overnight for the first time and she did great with Goji. She kept us informed throughout the couple days we were gone. Took him on his walks and sent us photo updates throughout the weekend. Book with her! She treats your fur baby like family!

This was our first time using Rover and we chose Natalie because of her great reviews, her # of repeat customers, and her proximity to us. We loved her! Our pets got to stay home for the first time while we traveled for an entire week, instead of being in a boarding facility. She connected with our pets quickly and sent us daily updates and pictures. We feel so much better about this experience than boarding them. Will definitely use Natalie again. She was so good with them.

Jennifer was very conscientious about my house and dogs. She was very good about following instructions and communicating when I was out of town, usually with a video and narrative twice a day. She left the house neatly and clean and my dogs were happy when I got home.

Steffanie was a dream of a dog sitter! She was timely, clear communication, calm and confident with my girls and flexible with my plans. The dogs were well cared for and she gave me detailed about how the “girls” behaved. I would highly recommend trusting Steffanie with your loved ones.

Aimee was an amazing dog sitter for us! We had a very last minute need for someone to watch our puppy, and she was able to help us out with extremely short notice. We are so thankful she was able to watch our puppy and take such good care of him! We could not recommend her enough and will definitely request her services for any dog sitting needs in the future!

We booked Madelyn to watch our boy for a few hours while we had a date night. She was sweet, showed up on time and played with Smokey. She came over for a meet and greet before her booking and Smokey felt comfortable with her right away. We will be booking Madelyn again!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Cypress walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Cypress maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Cypress choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Cypress. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
